Most of the cereals and mueslis have an allowance of 28g and come with some kind of crisp bread thing.

The ones that you can have more of (42g) are:
    Kellogs All Bran or
    Kellogs All Bran Apricot
    Nestle Fibre
Weight Watchers perfect balance toasted multi grain flakes with apple

I hope that helps! Night night

They have taken the Weight Watchers one off of the list of 42g cereals on the online site, it says you can have 28g.

The online site says you can have 42g of the following -

    42g Kellogg's All-Bran
    42g Tesco Hi Fibre Bran
    42g Vogel's Soytana
    42g Vogel's Ultra Bran, Soya & Linseed
    42g Weetabix Crunchy Bran

13 lbs still left to lose
  • Does anyone know where you can get weetabix crunchy bran from as I really like it but cannot find it anywhere.

    Thanks

  • Speaking of breakfasts, I went in search of the Vogel's Ultra Bran in Tesco yesterday as I fancied a change, it's almost £3 for a 375g packet

For anyone who likes a mild curry, I picked up Tesco's Light Choices (I think they've changed the name from Heathy Living) Korma sauce yesterday, it is 100 calories for a quarter of a jar which works out to be 5 syns, I didn't think that was too bad considering what full fat versions syns are, I had it with Quorn pieces and Brown Basmati Rice lastnight, it was delicious :D

I get mine from Asda, no other Supermarket around here stocks it.

  • Thats a shame, I don't have an asda local. I have Tesco or Sainsburys and none of them have it.

That is the key isn't it, that switched on light moment.
The light is switched on at the moment for me and just hope and pray that the bulb doesn't blow ;) and I want to enjoy food without being constantly obsessed about it..

Jamtart, glad you are still here, we will move on from yesterday..

    today: red day
b: 2 scrambled eggs and slice of ham (that is free, right?)
l: smoked mackerel not sure what to have with it yet
t: some sort of shepherds pie. seen recipe somewhere with mashed swede and celeriac on top, will have to find it.

HE: not sure, still quite confused by those.

Ham is free on a Red Day, Eggs are free on Red and Green.

What is confusing you about the Healthy Extras? Do you have a Slimming World starter pack?

I ordered one on Ebay on the 26th but hasn't come yet, but I was keen to start already. I know that you are allowed 2 HE a 28g of cheese and milk

but how many HE b and until I get the books not know what they are. 2 slices of wholemeal bread from a 400g loaf, someone mentioned 2 alpen light bars count as 1 HE b, on a green day ,meat is HE b, isn't it? and on a red day potoatoes are HE b, is that right? I just need to wait for the books, just impatient..
and is 0% fat yoghurt free at any time of day? Since it is dairy, does it come under the HE a?

    Thanks for your replies..
  • Hi all, i would love to join this thread (don't know how ive not seen it before!)

I have recently started back on SW. Had good sucess with it a couple of years ago but have put about a stone back on - nows the time for it to go again!

mumoftwo - fat free yoghurt/fromage frais is free on both days.

I usually stick to green days (my diet is mainly veggie and i also run so the carbs help there). I would like to introduce more red days though but can never think of anything to have (chicken salad for lunch, ?? for dinner?)

Does anyone knoe if cous cous is free on either day??

    Today:

    porrige for brekkie
soup + bread roll for lunch
cottage cheese salad + jacket potato for tea

plus the usual muller light and 4 pieces of fruit as snacks/desserts.

i know there is too many HEs in there (cereal, soup and bread) but i forgot to bring my breakfast to work this morn so had to have the emergency porrige sachet from my drawer!! I will count it as syns for the day as don't have any other syns planned.

i really struggle with thinking of 'free' breakfasts. does anyone have any ideas?

    Free breakfasts:
    boiled egg
Quorn sausage, egg fried in fry light, tomato, mushrooms (optional bread or french toast if you want to use a healthy extra) beans also free on a green day while bacon is free on an original day.
    Fruit salad, yoghurt
I usually use one of my HEB portions to have a slice of wholemeal toast with banana or with jam (a teaspoon of jam is half a point though)
