Just had another look at what I have bought but not received yet, a food directory with all the syn values is not included, do I need that? I thought the books would have syn values in them, oh well,
  • The food directory is a great help, it would be worth getting one if you could.

Don´t be too disheartened mum of two - white bread is only 3.5 syns not 4 : ) ... I also made that mistake today and had one slice of weight watchers white thinking it was a HEB.

I think we will all get the hang of it in the end. I joined online and don´t recommend it but I am happy to look anything up if people want me to check syns for them. At the moment this thread is my 'virtual group' so I am on here every day for support and would be happy to look any syn values up for people. PM me or put it in the forum.

Also if anyone needs them I have the pdfs that you get when you join online and would be happy to send them on. They list the free foods, the healthy options etc.

Also if people have old books I wouldn´t be too disheartened - this diet worked when those books were published. I know people who got slim eating things like tinned macaroni so SW must have just changed it to help people lose weight faster.

    Good luck everyone. : )

Phew thanks guys! you are all very supportive! I have just counted up all syns today INCLUDING the dreaded macaroni....and it comes to 17.5... not too bad when you can technically have 15 (altho Im aiming for 10)

*stress * argh now I need to work out some food for tomorrow! yikes!

any ideas for packed lunch at work? I have access to a microwave, but it'd have to be something straightforward- ish!

Well after reading all these posts from tonight, I am more confused than ever.

Suppose will have to wait till next week when I sign on to do this.

I do hope this is going to be worth it, it seems really complicated?

MISSMASSEFFECT can you post your recipe for shepherds pie for me please?

    Thanks

No it probably isn't complicated, I am just reading little bits here and there and not making much sense of it.

As I said will have to wait until next Wednesday to go to my first meeting and enrol, hopefully it will all become clear then ??

Jacket potato and cottage cheese sounds good, is this free? I am guessing not the potato?
