    hi everyone

I bought SW pack on ebay yesterday!! I really couldn't go to classes, have been in the past, WW, Scottish Slimmers and SW but just couldn't face it anymore, so will do it myself.
I have lots to lose and SW seems the simplest to do, no calorie counting and I have a huge appetite.

I haven't read through all the pages yet, so apologies if this has been asked over and over again: what do you all prefer? Red day, green day alternate days? I know if you are vegetarian you stick to green. Does it make a difference in your weightloss if you do 2 red days and 1 green? Or is it just up to yourself?

I will read through all the pages and see what tips I can collect..

Hi Jam tart and mum of two. Glad to have you with us.

I am pleased as since I got those tips from nanamags and miss phish I have managed to stick to my syns . Not the healthiest (4 cadburys options chocolate drinks and 2 alpen light bars today so LOADS of nasty sweeteners but hopefully I can cut down those to normal level lol)

Unfortunately I don´t have a bargain place near me but bought two boxes of Alpen lights when I was in the co-op so that should keep me going for a while.

Mumof two as far as I know it doesn´t matter whether you do red or green days though I can´t help thinking that you would lose more on red as it is similar to the dreaded atkins. I do mainly green though as I am a would be veggie.

Also on the website it says that you are allowed 2 HEAs i.e. you can have milk and cheese. It says that it is fine not to have them if you don´t fancy them but that calcium helps weight loss so it is not bad to have them both. That took out the guilt of my cheese on toast tonight lol

Also miss Phish you asked what veggie haggis is. In the olden days it was made with nuts and tasted like a yukky nut roast (apologies to those that like nut roast) but these days they make them from lentil things and the one I had was DELICIOUS. Unfortunately I couldn´t work out the syns on the syn calculator as it didn´t have all the health info. It must be bad though as vegetable fat was the first ingredient...

    RED DAY

    B - 250ml semi skimmed (HEALTHY A)
    2 x weetabix (ONE HEALTHY B???)

L - 2 slices of kingsmill wholemeal tasty loaf 800g size - (only one of these is a healthy B and the other is 4.0 syns is that correct?)
    ham slices - free
    mayonnaise -2.5 syns
    apple - free
    blackberries - free

    T - Lean mince - free
    potatoes - 2.0 syns
    carrot - free
    celery - free
    onion - free
peaches in juice - free (without the juice)

    SYN Total - 8.5

That looks like a great day Jamtart, you can have 2 Weetabix as a HEB, if you want a breakfast that has a lot of Fibre try Weetabix's Crunchy Bran, you can have 42g of it as a HEB (a lot of breakfasts you can only have 28g), I find it nice to eat (better than All Bran) and if you find it bland you can always put fruit with it.

My syns I try to stick between 5 - 10 a day, I started off at 18 stone 9 lbs last Feb and am now down to 14 stone 3 lbs, although I seem to have hit a wall with my weight as I've been this weight now since before Christmas and I was a regular loser every week.

I have IBS too, I'm not sure if it's playing up at the moment as I'm having a lot of problems in that area which I'm hopefully going to see a Doctor about today.

Good luck with your new start.

  • Hi Jamtart - I am pretty sure that if you have the peaches in juice, even without the juice you have to use them as a healthy B or Syn them.

I think that is the rule with tinned fruit.

feel free to correct me if I am wrong
