    Welcome N.Witch, hannahsmum (OMG - 8LBS??!) & Foofighter!

Lovely to have you all here!

As part your initiation ceremony - feel free to post your favourite recipe :D

PS Don't be scared of Image Therapy - it is quite harmless - and quite a buzz when the lb's are dropping off!

    Thanks for the welcome! :)

Well I am back from group and it was great :):) So pleased I went after all. I don't like talking in front of people but when it came to my turn to answer what my aims were and why I was there I found it quite easy to open up.

Although I know it is possible to lose weight on SW from my own experience going back and listening to the weight loss members have had is such an inspiration :T

    Day 1 tomorrow :D

(will come back with a recipe! )

I need to lose 3.5st and am thinking of joining SW as they can offer me support as a breastfeeding mum.
However, I don't go within 10 miles of artificial sweetners or freaky engineered stuff like 'low fat cheddar' or processed meals.
I cook almost everything from scratch, bake my own bread, etc.

So if it's a diet that relies heavily on Nimble and Mullerlights I am going to be desperately unhappy and my finances would take a huge dent.

    What do you think?

  • Wow i always said this site was great and now this as well- I'm amazed this thread exists and only saw it on the off chance - Thankyou. I have been a sw member for a year and lost 2 and a half stones, i have another 2 to go for target and have been a bit de motivated these last few months through circumstance. I love the recipes and the choice as i have a healthy appetite and like cooking its a good combination- in the past i liked my own cooking too much, hence the weight gain!!Would love to join you all. My fav recipe is the pasta quiche- has anyone tried it yet?

I am not sure if this link will work - cant quite work out how to do it, but if you type the above, this lady has some amazing slimming world recipes.

Just checked and it does work.

  • oooh thank you larmy, some of those recipes do sound lovely. I have got to give that lemon meringue pie a go (even if it does use sweetener), a syn free "proper" pudding would be lovely. You get a bit bored of yoghurty things after a while

I am really pleased, I know how difficult being centre of attention can be (and I'm an outgoing sort!) - Just think how SW is going to change all different parts of you! You'll be running your own group byt the end of it :D

  • I lost 3 stone with SW about5 years ago.Kept it off for years but due to stress put weight back on.Started to do it myself a few months back and managed to lose 2 stone by December. However over Christmas and since I have put weight back on.So I have 2 stone to lose and am so glad this thread is here.
  • ok quick question re the recipes in the site larmy posted. Quite often she adds a HE to the whole dish but a portion of the dish she says would be 1/4 HE. Are you supposed to do this? I always thought you couldn't mix and match your HEs like this that you had to have the whole thing or syn it. You know I think that confused emoticon should be my avatar, I am always confused:D
