1.5lbs off so quite pleased0
-
well despite munching through strepils and drinking cough mixture I lost 2lb at weigh in on Monday! Hoping for a better weight loss this week. Don't feel as hungry now and less 'bunged up'! Finding red days easier, I thought the measure of potato would be miniscule as a HE but it is a good portion!
I struggle with snacks - getting a bit sick of fruit, need to take a look at some of the info which anansi69 kindly sent me.
Hope everyone has a good week!!!0 -
well done to every one with those weight losses0

Ha started SW last week and was devastated when I found out what weight I was
Went for my 2nd time last night and had managed to loose 5lbs in a week and the migrains I get at least twice a week have gone for now anyway
Also forgot to pick password up for website, would be grateful if someone could PM it to me

Well I have just had my first Scan Bran HE ever, I have never bought them before and was a bit scared of them for some reason. They are just like really branny ryvita aren't they? Wouldn't like them on their own but with some laughing cow they are cool. Filled a hole as they say. Might attempt a recipe with them soon but not tonight as I have had a poopoo of a day. Went for lunch and could have chosen the baked potato with beans option but just didn't fancy it so went for a bacon roll, big mistake. The greasiest yuckiest bacon, I dismantled it and cut off all the fat and dabbed it with a paper napkin but it was still rank. I ate it though as I was Hank Marvin by then. I am going to have to count the roll as syns too as it was white. So I am on free food for the rest of the day. Just the day I really need a drink too.0

Hi Folks
I was SOTW at my class even though I only lost 1/2 lb as there were so many new members the week before.
I am going to try some new receipes this week. I made squash and carrot soup yesterday.
I have a delivery from Mr Tesco tonight and ordered 12 Muller Lights for £3.00. Has anyone tried the Tesco Cheese curls they are 4 syns per bag?
Congrats to everyone on their weight losses.

The other thing I worry about is hydrogenated fat in everything. I used to live on Pasta'n'sauce when I did SW at first but now I know they contain HF I won't eat them. HF is even in maltesers! I got a list of mumsnet of known sources of them and that has been an eyeopener but I check packets now and shopping does take a lot longer LOL. As for xylitol I first heard about it properly through Patrick Holford (GMTV Food Doctor person and GI diet advocate) I bought some last week and it came next day. It taste just like sugar but has a slightly cool sensation in your mouth which is quite unique but almost like you have just eaten a polo without the menthol taste, it doesn't taste of anything but sugar. What I hadn't realised is that plaque cannot grow near it. Some people just use it as a mouth wash for this purpose. I don't use sugar in drinks but I will replace it in baking. I succumb for the purposes of SW to the odd bit of aspartame but I do try to limit it and I won't let DS touch the stuff, no fruit shoots or sugar free squash. Maybe I am a bit anal about it but I give him diluted (not from concentrate) fruit juice or if I run out I have my back up bottle of Rock's organic squash. I would rather have the sugar and make him brush more than have unknown effects of sweetener. I can see why SW use it and according to the govt it is safe but I just don't think so. I don't see it as a problem as there must be people on SW with food allergies or diabetes etc that will have to avoid other things so I can adapt it to suit. I feel that losing weight is improtant but I want to be healthy and for me AS don't fall into the healthy category so that seals the deal for me. I am so glad to find another anti-sweetner SW person, I feel understood at last!! I do recommend balsamic in sauces though, it definitely adds a sweetness for me and is still free on SW.
That is so interesting and I am also glad to have found another soul so anti them.
I work with people with IBS and one of the first things I do is recommend that they stop eating any type of AS. Among the many symptoms and side effects linked to them are mild to severe diarrhoea which, long term, can weaken the digestive system even more leading to more chronic bowel disorders, fatigue, and most surprisingly - weight gain!
Sugar is natural, and yes, it rots the teeth and is overloaded with calories but I would much rather eat that then something concocted in a laboratory.
I have found it very hard when on SW or similar and generally end up swaying between 'healthy but heavier in syns' and 'syn free but scary'.
As i am currently in the second category I have a fridge full of muller yogurts (which are full of aspartame)!
Thanks for bringing this up Poodle as I need to conquer this now otherwise it may become a stumbing block and a great excuse to bin SW.Piggypoints - 207+£10 * Quidco - £95 * Tesco - 1095 * Sainsbugs - 4237I SHALL be debt free!!!!!:D
