I've got masses of Slimming world stuff I can email out, if anyone wants to PM me.
I've been on it a year & lost almost 6 stones. I don't go to classes as it's a bit too dear for me, I just have regular (free) weigh-ins with the nurse at the doctor's surgery.0 -
hi, well I have been on SW since Monday and I have stuck to it but I don't think I have lost any weight as yet... Mind it has been my 'bad' week and I have had a nightmare of a cough and had to use strepsils and cough medicine which I guess will not be helping. So I am feeling a bit down I will be devastated if I haven't lost on Monday.
I could really do with some help - anansi69 please PM me with as much info as possible. I find it a struggle thinking about quick snacks rather than sarnies and crisps but I guess SW you need some time to get your head round it. Tips on low syn treats and soups would be great0 -
ana - pm on its way ;o)
bb - hang on in there - you have done so well to have stuck to it whilst feeling crappy. You deserve a medal just for sticking with it!! Go easy on yourself xxPiggypoints - 207+£10 * Quidco - £95 * Tesco - 1095 * Sainsbugs - 4237I SHALL be debt free!!!!!:D

Hi everyone- hope you have all had a good week. :T
Im nearly at the end of my first week and will will do my first weigh on Monday. Ive enjoyed it so far- im just getting used to the plan now and have had 35 syns this week. As im 9st 10 and want to lose 1st im limiting myself to 5 syns a day on average if possible. One great thing is that ive havent felt on a 'diet' - and sometimes ive had to remember my healthy extras! Loving Mini Baby bel Lights and Stick Toffee Pudding Muller Lights at the moment. Whats everyones food highlight this week? xx0 -
Hostie - start with 10 syns rather than 15, you usually find it is only very active women and men that can get off with 15 although I think I read somewhere that if you have a LOT to lose then you start at 15 but I can't remember where I read that or why.
Miss Phish - careful with that corned beef, it used to be free on red but no longer, it is something like 2 syns per 100g now so would soon run away with syns.
HAving found that curry recipe I enjoyed that last night, I made extra sauce so I could have loads of rice and it was soooo good. I am going to try it with chicken this week I think for a change. I am a bit addicted to spicy foods.
HAd a blip on Friday, circumstances basically worked against me and I ended up scoffing crisps after having had some cake at MILs, I was starving and had no access to free food so gave in. I hope I still lose weight on Monday or I will be so cross with myself for not planning my day better.
Today I fancied bacon and egg so have gone red, rollmops and bread and salad for lunch I think and then oriental salmon for tea with mange touts and baby sweetcorn. Slurp. I have only just discovered those Shape lasting satisfaction yogs, I have been surviving on Mullerlights and getting a bit bored of them so glad to have found the Shapes, they seem less tart and more creamy.0 -
My mate at work doing SW, and it all seems very easy, I stick to the syns etc with her at work, we eat same fruit, no treats etc to make it easier on each other however with no books to follow I find it hard when I get home.
I dont physically get home from work til 7pm mon - fri so know going to meetings wouldnt be an option for me and the price online is horrendous, any ideas where I can get the books from, do it myself(which I would manage fine) dont mind paying for the books.
Having said that I bought a slow cooker and sticking something in there on a morning to come home to on an evening has had a huge inpact on my weight to start with, for the better.0 -
also are yellow split peas ok to put in the soup Im busy making?0

Hey minx, try ebay for the books especially in the next 2 or 3 months when people give up on theire new years resolutions! Or if your friend goes to class get her to buy them for you. The magazine is also very good too. Could you make a weekend class?Piggypoints - 207+£10 * Quidco - £95 * Tesco - 1095 * Sainsbugs - 4237
I SHALL be debt free!!!!!:D

Split peas are free on Green. Agree with Miss Phish ebay is always a good place for getting the Food Optimising book (although if you could go to one class and join you could get it that way) and the magazines are an invaluable help. The recipe books you can get on Amazon. I have managed fine once before using just the recipes I acquired from going to class before and the magazines. I think the Jan mag is really good as you get the calendar with extra recipes and any I have tried have been brill.0

Minxtress, what I do to make things easy for myself is I use free food and HEs all day and then use all or most of my syns at night after DS goes to bed (which is the time I would normally reach for a glass of something alcoholic and a bag of crisps and therefore my danger time). I have generally got good at knowing what I can have for my 10 syns. I settle down to a glass of slimline tonic with ice and a slice (or thanks to a tip in OS forum it is now a frozen lime slice which does the same job and saves my limes going dodgy before I can use them all) and then a bag of French Fries (4.5syns) or two. I might have instead of the second a mini choccy bar or whatever or a biccy with my last cuppa. I tend to stick to the same things which feel like a treat for me and make the most of my syns but I am not constantly having to look up the values for something different. Occasionally I might have a glass of wine carefully measured out instead but generally I don't as stopping at the alotted amount and not diving into the nibbles is hard for me. I am lucky that I don't take milk in my tea/coffee so I find my HEs go a long way.0
