Wow I haven't checked in for a few days and there are loads of new posts, brilliant.:j I love having other people to keep my motivation up and swap ideas with.
Chloe if you have 8 stone to lose and you are worried about the money can you maybe get your GP to refer you? I am sure you get the first few weeks free or something if you are referred, at least you will see what class is like and you might find it something you want to continue with and if not then you will have the book and can carry on on your own - the online support doesn't last that long anyway so this would be cheaper I think.
Lilysmum - that is poo that you didn't lose as I know how gutted you must feel but make sure you are drinking enough, I tend to get a bit ahem "bunged up" my first week back on plan and I have a habit of eating rather than hydrating, I now make up an empty squash bottles with sugarfree squash and glug away at that all day in addition to anything else I might fancy and that seems to sort it out for the next week. Also was the second class at a different time of day to the first? That could make a huge difference.
Doing it on you own - I have done it from the magazine and old books I had and found it no bother on my own last year but unfortunately the weight has gone on following a very stressful year, our very own annus horribilis in fact. This time round I know I need the extra support of a class and people on this thread! Anyone can tell you to eat less and move more and that is essentially what it is but it is harder to eat less and not feel hungry and also to make less wise choices without the plan. I have issues with other slimming clubs as I think they are starvation diets (mentioning no names but a class where no food is a sin had me living on cherry tomatoes just to get something else to eat and I exercised to earn extra food, I was lightheaded and felt awful and didn't really lose weight as I don't think I was eating enough, that is when a friend introduced me to SW and I have never considered another diet when I have needed one. And I don't think it is hard to stick to really all things being well and once you reach target with the extra healthy extras you get to maintain your weight it should be even easier to stick to for life. Let's face it healthy eating should be for life and this is healthy eating with no hunger or deprivation.
Miss Phish I have a lovely prawn curry recipe I will look out for you that came from their magazine or calendar one year.
I joined my new club last night and I am really pleased with it, lovely consultant (so much better than the last one I had who was truly awful) and a great bunch of women who are bubbly and enthusiastic, it is actually like the classes you read about in the magazine, such a relief after the last place I went to where everyone was just a misery guts:rotfl:
Today I made a big pan of butternut squash soup and ate that for lunch and kept going back for more if I felt peckish - it was synfree so why not. I had muesli for brekkie with milk and I snacked on fruit in the morning and a HiFI in the afternoon, for dinner I had been keeping my options open as I couldn't decide what to have but eventually went Green with baked potato and baked beans and I baked an extra tattie and made loaded skins filled with 0% Greek yoghurt and chopped cucumber, celery, cherry toms and spring onion, salt and pepper. It was meant to be for when I get the munchies watching TV later but I have had it already:o , I still have all my syns so I will find something worth spending them on later like some Quavers or something and have my Slimline ice and a slice (I find it just as nice to have this without the gin and thus save me 2 syns a glass).0 -
Welcome to you hollo, glad to have you aboard!
I am sat here eating my tea and wanted to share how YUMMY it is with you!
Steamed some brocolli, green beans & spring onions in a splash of water in a fry pan (with lid on) till done, threw in some cooked chicken left over from Sunday lunch, at the end stirred in a good splash of soy sauce, a flat tbsp crunchy peanut butter and mixed some more water in to thin the peanut butter into a sauce. Wow! It's stunning! and only 4 syns on a red day.
EDIT: Hmm, prawn curry sounds gorjus - would love the recipe please.
EDIT AGAIN: love the ice n a slice idea!!Piggypoints - 207+£10 * Quidco - £95 * Tesco - 1095 * Sainsbugs - 4237I SHALL be debt free!!!!!:D

Thank you
I have brought the magazine and there are some lovely looking dishes - seems refreshing to be able to have a diet and enjoy food.
Not quite looking forward to first weigh in next week but def looking forward to getting stuck in and shifting this excess weight0 -

I know what you mean hollo, once you understand the 'laws' of SW the fact that you can eat as much as you like means you never feel restricted. It is a really good system, I hope you enjoy it xxPiggypoints - 207+£10 * Quidco - £95 * Tesco - 1095 * Sainsbugs - 4237I SHALL be debt free!!!!!:D

400g can chopped tomatoes
½ tsp artificial sweetner
1lb cooked tiger prawns
200g v low fat yoghurt
Seasoning
Chopped coriander
Peel and crush garlic and place in pan with curry powder, ginger, tomatoes and sweetener. Bring to boil, cover and simmer for 8-10 mins.
Add prawns and cook for 2-3 mins until warmed through. Remove from heat and stir in yoghurt. Season and serve garnished with coriander and a lightly toasted mini naan (4 sysns on both choices)
Syns on original FREE, green 0 if using prawns as HE otherwise 60 -
Miss Phish that stir fry sounds yummy, I wouldn't have thought of adding the peanut butter, I have a brain block about adding syns to the dish and usually have free meals and then have to work out what to use my syns on (not hard) that is why trying out some of the mag recipes is helping me as I am starting to realise I can use them IN the meals. I mean I KNEW this but somehow my brain just doesn't think of it when I am cooking.0

Oooh, it is. Peanut butter is really nice in noodles too, and watered down it makes a really nice creamy sauce.
Yesterdy I ate really well but ended up with no syns by the evening AND the munchies so today i bought some low fat yogurts and that killed the sweet cravings quite nicely (29p for 4 in Morrisons!!!) (And they taste OK!)Piggypoints - 207+£10 * Quidco - £95 * Tesco - 1095 * Sainsbugs - 4237I SHALL be debt free!!!!!:D

I've gone green today so I had a baked potato and filled it with loads of mushrooms which I had cooked in frylight and then added tinned sweetcorn, 0% Greek, salt, pepper and paprika (I think I must have been feeling creative to have added that), it was really delish and would have been great with pasta. I ran out of HEs a bit earlier than anticipated as I forgot I had had cereals when I ate a hifi bar. I still have 6.5 syns left but not much in the house that is exciting to use them on but I am sure I will find something.0

I've had a really good day, and feeling SO full! Just had a massive bowl of 'bol' and a bit of 'spag' it was real yummy.
Anyway, I've off out on Friday night to the Indian - any ideas what I can have and should i be red or green??
Cheers all and hope you're doing well xxPiggypoints - 207+£10 * Quidco - £95 * Tesco - 1095 * Sainsbugs - 4237I SHALL be debt free!!!!!:D
