Well done Valli's DD.
Recycling out, house hoovered, puzzle done and I've cast on the stitches to start knitting the front of my jumper tonight. Off out now.Spend less now, work less later.6 -
Good morning 😁
Paid stuff again today - only 2 children so a little less stressful 🤞 I think today's flying will consist of mainly wiping noses!! 😂
1 x WM done. Will put in TD when I return from Toddler group. Bins all done (by DH, but I'm still ticking it off! 😂)
SW tonight - hopefully I can manage a maintain!! I rejoined a year ago and have lost the grand total of 4 1/2 lbs!!!! In my defence, if I hadn't gone that would have been a gain of 4 1/2 St!! 😳 I must try harder......
Ok - off I go to a large noisy room full of toddlers! Wish me luck 😅
Have a good day all4 -
Morning all, It's another very cold day here but still no snow thankfully.
My list for today
Get dressed
Feed the animals
Paid stuff
Do required uni work - Work in Progress, struggling to focus on all the reading.
Found some more festive decorations last night so these need to be put into the cupboard
Check over the car tyres, coolant, and screen wash
Get petrol in the car for the rest of this week
Declutter 50 emails from inbox
Check and water the plants
Clear the pile from the bottom of the bed.
Dust the bedroom
Do high dusting in the bedroom
Hoover the bedroom floor
Put the rest of my Christmas presents away as currently just sitting in the corner
Speak to DH regarding the work that needs to be done in the bedroom
Look into new furniture for the bedroom (bed, wardrobe and TV bracket)
Think that is everything that I need to tackle today. Hope everyone has a lovely Wednesday.

Asparklierblonde said:Morning all,
Bad night's sleep here, I have a horrid ache all down the right side of my jaw. Also felt a bit sick all night and generally unsettled. As a result I rose at 5am, shoved some more wood on the fire and am now back in bed with a cuppa. I have also done an hour of paid stuff - I am going to ask for some TOIL tomorrow as all these extra odd hours here or there are starting to add up!
It's already -8 here, set to get colder as the day wears on. No doubt DD will argue about wearing a coat to school...
Flying will be limited to the very basics I think, unless I decide to sweep up to keep warm!
Take care all xxHow are you feeling now ASB? I hope that you are feeling better.Well done Valli's DD.This morning I did the eye drops and then walked to the end of the road and took the bus to Piccadilly Circus as I had some trousers to collect that I'd bought in a sale, which were sold with the hems not made up and they make them up after you've tried them on and they can see what length you need. On the way back the bus goes down Regent Street and I was surprised to see that the vast majority of shops had no customers in them at all - just several assistants hanging around. The only shops that was busy was the Apple Store. When I got back it was time to do more eye drops and then make lunch. I then helped A who has had an appointment for a bone density scan, which sent him into a duck fit as he didn't know why he'd received it. I suggested that he ring the unit and ask, which he did, so all is now calm on that front!I received an email yesterday from the company which I bought the ill-fitting slippers from. It said they were closing down and everything is reduced. We still haven't received the refund for the pair I returned and I wonder if we will now. I am going to ring them and ask.9 -
I am still not feeling great CoG, thanks for asking. Under the blanket with my book and the laptop! I just LOVE that you casually say things like "the bus down Regent Street".... if you make reference to "popping into Liberty" ever I will have a serious case of the green eyed monster. Years ago I bought a really expensive scarf in Liberty, which I still wear all the time even in the house. I remember the whole experience was just so lovely and I felt really special for an hour!
Anyone else listen to the conversation on Jeremy Vine about woodburners?! The woman made my skin itch she was so annoying and the chap who said it is "Dickensian" to burn wood needs a good talking to!!
I am going to have a hot chocolate now the kettle has boiled on the stove, and add a splash of rum to try and ease this jaw ache.

ASB - for my MH I stopped listening to Jeremy Vine some time ago - I find he is annoying and uneccessarily antagonising - I do NOT need to shout at the radio for 2 hours every day. For much the same reason I don't watch Richard Madeley, either... it's Dickensian to freeze in your own home, actually. Apparently some hospital admissions are caused by people who are cold/suffering from hypothermia. That is both Dickensian and shameful and don't get me started on Foodbanks. Or the fact that here we are in the 21st century and people are STILL dying from poor sanitation. Not for nothing do I support Water Aid.
*Gets off soap box*
I too am quite envious of CoG's location,,,I was CLEARLY not far from you, CoG, on my two visits to the smoke this summer...during one of which we ate at The Ivy, dontcha know...one of the highlights of my year, that.
It's bl00dy freezing in here despite the electric radiator and I am wearing thermal underwear and I am going home in a minute...
Bin out for tomorrow (I LOVE that my work is on the same cycle as at home - so easy to remember! Probably not the same route though)
Train ticket booked for Steel City Friday - going to look at this and it's only £4.40 return on the train with my SC railcard. The bus to town will proably cost more.

Thank you Honey Bear6 -
Well done Miss Valli, and that exhibition looks good.
I love the fact that CofGs bus goes down Regents Street too, in fact I love the fact that we are all dotted about the country but have this amazing friendship. The Internet is not all bad!
Good day at the paid stuff, three meetings about 3 different subjects which kept me on my toes. I was a bit nervous about one but spent more time preparing myself for it which helped.
Very cold and icy, glad I have a short commute. DH has been home so has taken charge of flying, I did a load of washing on a quick wash and put that over the airer. I have a pair of dry clean only trousers that needed a freshen up so chucked them in, they looked very crumpled when they came out but seem to be drying OK.
Hope the jaw ache goes away ASB. My "Dickensian" open fire is rather lovely tonight 😂. I didn't hear the discussion on the radio but can imagine how it went!

Hello everyone.
Sorry I've been AWOL but it's been a bit pants WRT to medical stuff so I've hibernated a bit. High BP has been diagnosed. I'm on tabs now to hopefully reduce it. Have an appointment with the surgery tomoz afternoon to take bloods to check my high BP hasn't damaged anything like my kidneys etc.
I have managed to receive and mostly unpack a Mr T delivery, decluttered a couple of puzzles and am cooking dinner as I type.
I really need to get my !!!!!! into gear and Do Stuff.... like cleaning, decluttering etc. I'm just not sure where to start...I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

I like Valli on a soap box, this topic is something I could blather on about for hours. I should have called in and told them about 9 year old DS laying and lighting the fire, they’d have had a field day on that one!Sleep well folks xx8

I'm sorry you're still not feeling right @Asparklierblonde - I hope you get a good night's sleep and feel better tomorrow.@soappie I hope that your bt results are ok - it will be a weight off your mind. Do you have your own bp machine to take it at home. Our bp is always sky high at the GP or the hospital but is usually ok when we take it at home.Where is @pigpen ? I hope she is ok.I think having lived here for so long I'm a bit blasé now about things such as getting the bus down Regent Street. It's years since I've been to Liberty ASB but if get the urge to go I will resist lol. I think that if you and Valli lived here you might soon be pining for the lovely things in your own areas though. I loved living here when I was young but if I had my way I think that now I'd rather live in a nice medium sized town, such as Ludlow or Stamford. Maybe if I did though I wouldn't like it, I don't know.@Valli I'm envious of you now - that exhibition looks right up my street. I'm sure that you will enjoy it. In my early days here I lived just a few minutes walk from the house where William Morris lived, which is now a museum, but never went. Now it's a bit of a trek so haven't been for that reason; I'd like to go at some point though. This afternoon the solicitor's office rang to say they had received the paperwork we sent before Christmas and were going to action it that day (what a coincidence
) I washed up, bleached the kitchen sink and washing-up pad then cleaned the bathroom. I was going to clean the kitchen floor too but fortunately sadly I was prevented from doing this by my brother ringing. I was on the phone for an hour and a half so by the time I came off it was nearly time to make supper. After supper I washed up and it will soon be time to do the evening eye drop routine and then go to bed.
