Bitterly cold here too. Well done on getting the first day back done, Round xx
Lots of paid stuff done today. Also chopped wood, kept both fires going, sold some sausages and rang the council for my refund.
Made the mistake of reading some of DD's text messages - why are girls so downright awful? Not DD I might add, one particular girl who DD is always nice to and she doesn't get anything but grief back. I've tried to tell her to back off and not bother with this person, but she's 11 and will work it all out for herself eventually... so much easier when we were kids and school hassle stayed there at the end of the day!
Kettle is whistling on top of the stove so it's bedtime cuppa time. Sleep well, all xx7 -
Morning all, It's another very cold day here but no snow as yet.
My list for today
Get dressed
Feed the animals
Paid stuff
Attend uni class this afternoon
Wash up dishes, dry and put away
Take the returns package to the post office
Get the number for the self-service garage as they wrongly took money last week so will need to phone to reclaim it.
Check over the car tyres, coolant, and screen wash
Get petrol in the car for the rest of this week
Dust the stair rails and banister
Wipe sockets and switches
Send an email regarding recycling bin collection (I'm working with a local charity recycling which helps them to raise funds)
Check and water the plants.
Check banking and update the budget
Do required uni work
Declutter 50 emails from inbox
Wipe the bathroom switch
Wipe down the door including the handles
Clean the loo and put some bleach in
Sort lunches/bags/clothes for tomorrow
Think that is everything that I need to tackle today. Hope everyone has a good Tuesday.

Same here, cold but no snow. I had to take the car for its service by 8.30am and it was minus 4. On the way back, Mr N and I dropped into Mr T so he could collect some currency for his hol next week and we got a couple of bits & bobs. Collected the low bench/shelves from The R&nge to use for our vast collection of bird food as the current old one is falling apart (helped by the rodents).
Home to a bacon sandwich then tried to do a bit more of a report. This latest is a tricky one and won't make pleasant news for the student I fear; I always procrastinate too long over the tricky ones.
Sat in the sun in the conservatory with a book for too long so I got cold; came in and warmed up by washing up.
Car was ready earlier than I'd expected which was good, and despite Mr N saying the suspension was noisy at the back, they couldn't find anything wrong with it which is mainly good news.
Various other bits of tidying.
I've started knitting more fingerless gloves, this time with boaters in mind.
Am now doing more of the dreaded report but I'm really tired so don't imagine it will be for long.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.8 -
Evening all. This morning I was hoovering the condensation off one of the windows and knocked over one of the amaryllises - the one which had started to come out. The stalk snapped and so I had to cut off the flower head and put it in a vase with some water. Whether it will come out properly now I don't know. We've been nurturing it for the last two months so it was very annoying. At least we have two others on the go so I will have to be more careful with those. Of course, soil went all over the carpet so I had to get the vac out. Whilst it was out I did the rest of the sitting room and the hall. After that I did eye drops, rang BT with a query about our bills, helped A compose an email to the managing agent about the leak, and booked the car in for a service. I then took A in the car to the bank and then for a turn in the park in the wheelchair. Whilst we were there Waitrose rang to ask if they could make our delivery early, i.e. immediately, which was an hour before the start of the delivery slot. I told them they would have to wait for 20 mins or so until we were back. When we got back they were waiting outside so I dealt with that first then made lunch and washed up.After that I rang the solicitor to check he had received some paperwork we had sent in early December but have had no reply to, went for a walk and called in at the M&S Simply Food for a few bits. I came home and made tea, washed up and prepared an early supper for A as I had a Zoom meeting at 7.00. After the meeting I made myself a sandwich and some sweet potato oven fries, washed up again and did the night time eye drops and put out A's breakfast things. Now I can go to bed.8

Good evening 😁
Paid stuff today. Nuff said!
The heating hadn't come on this morning & the boiler was making strange noises 😳 Luckily the plumber was booked in for later anyway. Tried the hot water, which worked. After that the heating was okay. Luckily I had videoed the noise so showed it to the plumber. I can't remember exactly what it was, but he said it wasn't a problem (phew!) Boiler is now serviced, and new (shiny) taps fitted. Unfortunately they make the rest of the sink look decidedly un-shiny!! Ho hum!
Flying wise - cat litter tray cleaned, LR vac'd up, DW put on. Not much else I'm afraid!
Keep warm everyone & sweet dreams!

Morning all,
Bad night's sleep here, I have a horrid ache all down the right side of my jaw. Also felt a bit sick all night and generally unsettled. As a result I rose at 5am, shoved some more wood on the fire and am now back in bed with a cuppa. I have also done an hour of paid stuff - I am going to ask for some TOIL tomorrow as all these extra odd hours here or there are starting to add up!
It's already -8 here, set to get colder as the day wears on. No doubt DD will argue about wearing a coat to school...
Flying will be limited to the very basics I think, unless I decide to sweep up to keep warm!
Take care all xx8 -
Morning all.
I am off out with friends today so probably won't get much flying done. Have just had first cuppa so now need to take Poppet for her walk.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.8 -
Morning all xx
I'm up, made my bed, dressed, packed my lunch, taken my meds, eaten breakfast, completed Wordle, failed at Connections, and I'm supping a brew.
I was in bed for quarter to nine last night. Shattered. Not the best night's sleep though. Woke up and got up at 6.45am, ahead of the 7am alarm. So I'm being leisurely. Yesterday I experimented by setting the alarm for 7.15am. The alarm woke me up and everything was rushed, not enough time to savour my brew, so I'm not doing that again. 7am is the latest I can wake up and savour!
I'll feed the birds and put out the recycling before I set off. I think Feargal needs de-icing before I go anywhere, so I'll make a move.
Stay toasty.

morning all. paid stuff for me today.
DD has messaged from her hols, she got a distinction in her Viva exam so all good. She thought she’d failed…she never looks on the positive side. Still that’s another step in the right direction.
Im going to get the YS kebabs out of the freezer for my tea. All the stuff she won’t eat…I did enjoy my curry last night. And it’s flying because it’s flinging lol.
