Phone car insurance to advise we now have off-road parking - worth every penny to convert front lawn into parking space, so much less stress. Not very ecological tho' - we are going to make the remaining lawn / weed space as wildlife friendly as possible this year.
Depression is weighing heavy at the moment - sleeping 12 hours a night, totally exhausted and no energy to speak of. Had my Vit B12 injection but it doesn't seem to have touched the sides yet; wondering if my thyroid levels need checked - need to investigate when they were last done.
Stay warm everyone, a few more days to go till this cold snap ends. (((Hugs))) to all, Thriftyxxx
@kazwookie - planes dog-fighting, interesting, are you near an air-base?

I managed the rest of the shower room clean yesterday. Today I've done the en-suite which I blitzed about 3 weeks ago and have been doing weekly since. It's keeping much cleaner for being done regularly (who'd have thought it). I've regularly done the shower loo and basin, but ignored the vinyl floor as it's too small to mop. 3 weeks ago I got on hands and knees with a bathroom sponge and got around all the tricky places, eventually managing to clear it of rolls of grey fluff, and I'm finding that it's staying a lot cleaner now. I can clean it properly in about 20-30 minutes. I need to put the spare loo brush head on the handle and chuck the old one which is rank.Had a swipe at the kitchen this morning, towels washed and on the line, will need to bring in shortly. They were nearly dry when I went out earlier to top up the bird food. We've had a couple of cracking but cold days, the solar panels have topped up our batteries nicely. I spotted that a couple of verbena plants in pots were flopping, can't believe after all the endless rain we had in December that the pots have dried out, so I've had to water them and hope they recover. The water in the cans had a good layer of ice in the tops.Oven cleaning is still lurking on the list. I will have a crack at it tomorrow I think. I will try and remember to put the shelves into soak overnight. I read somebody suggesting a soak with a dishwasher tablet, so will give that a go. We have a Neff slide and hide, and it's the dirtiest oven I've ever had. The shelves attract grease, and we had a spill in the bottom at Christmas. I think later models have some sort of self cleaning thing if you put water in the bottom of the oven (according to a friend), but I've read our instruction booklet and there's no mention of this in ours. It was here in the house when we moved in.Walked into town and got a couple of bits from the Co-op. Returned a book to the Oxfam book shop OH bought me for Christmas. 50 pages in and it wasn't grabbing me. A Room with a View. I'm obviously not cultured enough. Hallooooo xx
First day back at the paid stuff under my belt. Have I flown? 🤔 Before setting off I made my bed, fed the birds, and put out the recycling. And packed my lunch. On my way home I called at PO to pay the rent and post a letter. And bought some eggs off NN.
Couldn't get to work initially as the road was closed due to a RTC. So I detoured round town and met a colleague at Costa on the outskirts of town, had a hot chocolate and a natter, and went into work when the road had cleared. Get me being spontaneous 🤪
Still bitterly cold here. 🥶
