Congrats to the 'Toomany' family on Emily's arrival xx
I have been to London twice.. that is certainly 3 times too many.. I loathed every second.. everyone was so rude and it was filthy.. I could not wait to get home to my scabby little backwater. My sister lived there a few years while working at the Old Bailey.. she too is back up here now. We are a bunch of homebodies lol. I prefer openness and fresh air and mud and the smell of manure.
I have once again done absolutely nothing today.. I think you should evict me from the club.

Hi, not been very active today. I bought new bedding for ds1 runs yesterday and washed to duvet. So that went on the newly made up bed, looks fab. I hope he likes it. Also tidied their room and emptied the bin and gathered up a wash to do and that is now drying.
Clear up the kitchen. Did my tools ready for sterilising on Sunday. Im off tomorrow for a meditation weekend. Going to come back all relaxed!♥️ ♥️ ♥️🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸Decluttering 2025 So far 403 / 2025

@Pigpen, the London of my yoof, 50 odd years ago, is very different from the London today! It was far cleaner, less congested, and, actually, quite nice.... apart from the influence of gangs like the Kray twins..
Off to do post-dinner washing up...I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Another very cold one today, but no snow for us. Some semi-melted ice encountered on the way to the gym then later to drumming, but nothing too bad - although I suspect the 4 sets of temporary traffic lights/dug up holes with workmen peering in them, could have been frozen/burst pipes. I usually allow half an hour to get to the gym, which incorporates finding a parking space and possible traffic, but I hadn't bargained for 4 sets.
- did a reasonable clean of en suite, having been kept awake by rodent noise which I'm sure came from in there.
- went to Pilates
- did more uni work
- one load through DW
- went to drumming lesson. Felt so sorry for the Big Issue lady who always stands outside Mr T (I park in Mr T car park and walk through to get to the music school) as it was so cold, so on my way back I used the cash machine and a real checkout to get change so I could buy the BI. Got back to the car and realised I'd lost a glove so traipsed back to the cash machine; no joy but thankfully some kind person had handed it in at Mr T's cigarette/service desk.
- nearly had a fit when I made pizza for dinner and absent-mindedly sprinkled what I'd intended to be Italian Herbs on it............was cinnamon! I hate anything sweet with savoury (you won't catch me eating pineapple pizza or even gammon with pineapple) but it didn't taste too strong.
- did a bit more knitting, nearly finished another glove.
Being on the Herts/Essex border, we love that we live in a small village backing onto open fields for miles but can get to a main station in under 15mins and be in the West End within the hour. Pigpen I must say that I find London far cleaner than it used to be - I remember all the grime and pollution and diesel buses years ago, now they are nearly all quiet electric and the buildings are often cleaned. I think there are rude people wherever you go (apart from on here of course) and I can't say I've noticed more rudeness in London than anywhere else. While we love going there for a day, we are still pleased not to live any closer. We keep talking about moving but don't know where to, and we would miss our day trips.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.9 -

Good evening 😁
Day off today. Had AF dippy eggs for breakfast after my lie in. Then WULTD the dishes before heading down the road to get my nails done.
Tried to do some work admin but the council funding portal was down so I will need to do that tomorrow.
Took my mum to her cousin's funeral this afternoon. It was a lovely service with standing room only. Then it was back to the town of my childhood for the wake. It was held in the community centre that was built on the land of my childhood home. I was literally born in the carpark! 😂 Everywhere is so built up and different to how I remember it - it was surreal!
DW put on before bed, so the kitchen looks okay. DH had done some washing, so I have folded that from the TD.
We are off to London on Saturday for a theatre trip (Xmas pressie). I enjoy the hustle & bustle, but it is good to get home. We are only about an hour away by train to the east.
Sleep beckons now (if I can ignore the snoring from next to me!!)
Night night all x8 -
@Asparklierblonde I hope that you have kept warm and are now more or less back to normal.@soappie you are having a thorough MOT and I hope that all your bt results are good. It's been fascinating to read everyone's London stories and thoughts. @Valli I agree that travelling by bus is best - you see so much more. Sorry you had a bad time PP - as I said before, I wouldn't mind leaving now but it's not all bad here.@mumtoomany congratulations on the new arrival. This morning I put on a load of washing and then walked to the M&S Simply Food (about a mile) to get a couple of bits. I also wanted a pot of spring flowers to take to a friend who recently had a shoulder replacement operation. They had quite a lot when I was in there the other day but they only had two pots, hidden away on a bottom shelf. I bought one, miniature iris, and probably saved its life as it was as dry as a bone but still looked nice and green so I'm sure it will be ok. One of the staff said that as it hadn't been watered and might not be any good I could have it for nothing! After visiting my friend I came home and made lunch and TD'd the washing, changed the bedding and got the things ready that I Hate Ironing do, for collection later.I then took a bag of rubbish down and walked to a local gallery where I had seen some nice, small paintings and bought one for A as it's his birthday soon. I really like it; whether he does is another matter! I then came home and made tea (no more Christmas cake
). I'd bought some Waitrose sourdough seeded pikelets (the only ones they had) and had one of those as the cake was finished but it was horrible - really soft and doughy and a funny flavour. Warburtons might be cheap and cheerful but they are much nicer imo.
Did an Ocado order, rang a friend and then made our evening meal, washed up, did they evening eye drop routine and now it's time for bed.9 -

Morning all
Still cold here today but nowhere near as bad as it has been. We are due lashing rain and high winds for 72 hours starting later today 🙄🙄Very glad it’s Friday, I have a chunk of paid stuff to get through today and still some wood to chop. In an ideal world I need to do a tip run and fill the Jerry cans up (I always keep a small amount of petrol here as we are a 20 mile round trip from a fuel station) but I’m not sure if that will happen, we’ll see!DD wasn’t feeling well at school yesterday but they wouldn’t let her phone me. She had perked up last night but we’ll see what she’s like when I wake her shortly. Her Friday timetable is the pits so I expect some resistance!Pheasant pie and mash for tea. The pie is already made and I am really looking forward to it.Definitely need to hoover upstairs today, will also do a small wash and get that hung out before the rain comes later.Best get on have fab days all xx9 -
Morning all xx
Welcome to this crazy world, Emily xx
piggers - Nope. Nope. Nopity. Nope. I think making a meal counts as flying. And. I don't want you to go anywhere please. Hope you are feeling spoonful soon xx
Fayolle - if you put our place on tv the critics would say it was too far fetched. Touch wood I'm ok with everyone and everyone is OK with me. I think words have been said upstairs re: supporting your staff. Something has changed anyway. But D and L don't speak to each other. Al and L don't speak to each other. And yesterday Am stopped speaking to L. As I share an office with L (and get on fine with her) I sometimes get paranoid and think it's me 🤔. But, like I said, everyone is OK with me. For now. At the moment. 🤞
I'm up, made my bed, dressed, packed my lunch.....you know the drill. Better get a move on as Feargal needs deicing before I go anywhere.
Stay toasty.
I love you guys.
