well i’m worn out from my trip to Steel City and SO pleased i parked near the station (cheap car park) as the walk up the hill to town and the bus would have finished me off…i’ve had to take parrots for the pain and loperamide for the inevitable even though i took a loperamide before eating, didn’t have coffee (i think that’s what makes me feel sick) and didn’t have a pudding and chose a veg-free meal. Tiny little x country train back was packed. It was en route to Norwich.
I wore my new big coat so was toasty all day…we also visited an Art Gallery so a lovely day.

Oh one other thing I did this week was help a neighbour move to a better tariff for their gas and electric, and show them how to charge their solar batteries from their inverter. Also sent details of the tariff to another friend. I'm on a mission to get people to save money whether they want to or not!

@Valli your day sounds wonderful; I'm so pleased you enjoyed it.After getting back from my walk and mini shopping trip I made tea and washed up and then watched a bit of rubbish on the TV. I Hate Ironing brought the laundry back but two items from an order two weeks ago which they said they would also bring were still missing. They've promised them for Sunday, and gave me a £10 credit. I made our supper and am now about to wash up. Then it will be eye medication routine and that's it I hope.

The hardest frost we've had for a while, and there have been a few. I've been putting boiling water in the bird bath to defrost it, and in the little pond (old butler sink) we have in the patio, and the birds have certainly appreciated it.
- one load put through WM
- bit more of report done
- survived Body Step
- read meters and submitted readings on line
- Mr N and I finally made a decision on the electric fire and have ordered one. I'm planning to turn off the central heating once he leaves for warmer climes next week and maybe turn it on again the day before he gets back!
- as usual, that doesn't sound much......
There was a photo on the web site of the lake I swim at today with someone 'walking on the water' i.e. ice. Also one on the yoga/swim group from Wednesday breaking the ice. I'm going to get my stuff ready and plan to swim but it will need monster sized coffee and bacon sandwiches after to warm me up!
Have a good weekend everyone.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.9 -

There were a couple of people playing ice hockey on the frozen flooded field outside school when I picked up the turnips tonight.. the field has been standing water for about 2 months and has been home to a large flock of gulls. and a few canada geeses.. they have all moved on now it is frozen solid.
Off to my nest.. dance class and swimming tomorrow.. and I am really tired.
Cocoa and a box of family circle biscuits on the side.. no NICE biscuits though, I scoffed them all..

Morning all
Ooooh Narco you are on brave lady! Let us know how it goes! Where is Mr N going? I am craving some sun now xx
I hadn’t realised this blasted new storm was going to affect us quite as badly as it’s meant to. I am taking the children to the small independent cinema to see Wonka today then it will be power cut prep when I get back. Tomorrow will definitely be a day to firmly stay at home. I’ll might even consider flying but we’ll see how things go 🤣
I have just let the dogs out and fed the animals. It’s not too windy here yet thankfully. The little town we are driving to is about 45 mins away but it has a lovely Lidl so I will stock up on store cupboard items whilst there. And get the petrol I never got the other day!
Have fab days all xx9
