Mum forgot my name today. Twice. Sis and I have been to see them because stepdad had a Docs. appointment so decided to drive there …despite being advised not to drive. I already informed everyone DVLA because i didn’t think he would, He claimed it was an emergency but he knew about it yesterday so it wasn’t, i could have taken him. I’m livid, he’s endangering himself, mum, but most importantly other road users which is why i reported him and mum is too far gone to stop him now.
Anyway bathroom and kitchen cleaned, rest of house tidied and it was so blowy i had the washing in and ironed by 1pm
DD on way home from skiing…in fact I think she’s just arrived…yes she has! I’m in bed. Cat being greeted. Priorities!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

@Valli that's heartbreaking but you did the right thing re your dad's driving. We went to a friend's for lunch today but it is nearly 40 miles form us and so had to set off mid morning and didn't get back until 6.45 so no flying done apart from preparing a simply evening meal and washing up. It took 40 minutes to cover the first 7 miles (through London) to the main A road and 40 minutes to do the remaining 30 odd miles.7

Valli ... (((((hugs))))) that must be utterly heartbreaking.. and NAUGHTY Stepda... I'd have told on him too.. it's so dangerous.
decluttered a bag of chocolates down OH's neck..
researched boilers.. realised I am too poor so fingers crossed they can find a new timer
I put some laundry in the dryer.

Piggers I really hope the timer is an inexpensive fix. Boilers are the one thing that terrifies me - every house I’ve owned I’ve had to replace them!Blowing a hoolie here, I will savour this cuppa then go and feed the sheep bless them. I was so tired and fractious last night, not the kids fault, but I definitely snapped at them. Feeling so guilty this morning. What is it with mum guilt?! I am here for them 24/7, make sure every need is met etc etc, yet the absent parent probably never feels guilty and he can do no wrong in their eyes. Sorry I’m going to stop, as you can tell this is all weighing a bit heavy ATM.
Swimming for them both this morning (fun session which is FOC at the town pool), then I have meat to deliver to a friend. I will enjoy a cuppa with her too. Then I really must fly.Take care all xx8 -
Pigpen check your local council for boiler grants / free extra warm air heating (it's called something like that) google is your friend, (name of town free boiler grants) see what comes up, plus anyone else who many need a new boiler etc.Roast chichen last night was good, left overs for sandwiches and curry today.Going to do general things todayBreast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Pigpen the timer on our boiler went about 2 years ago and we have never got it fixed! We have a very old system and it's complicated to sort it. I keep saying that we need to do it but somehow it's never happened.
And yep, Narco, bonkers. Well done though x
ASB you know you are doing an amazing job right? You never take the easy option in life and work damned hard for your kids. Mum guilt never goes away but when I ask my boys to look back they have nothing but happy memories of their childhood, even the bits that I remember as being tough.
One of DS1s friends has been hurt in a serious car accident. DS saw the accident but didn't know his mate was involved. He rang me late last night and said he couldn't stop thinking about it. We think the lad is going to be OK but details are sketchy.
My sinuses hurt and I am very snuffly. Definitely going to be a quiet day here but I will do some flying. Some home admin to do too.
Have a good Sunday all x8 -
Morning all xx
asb - big hugs. I still have Mum guilt about things I did or said over 25 years ago....that DS does not remember at all. It's part of the Mum package - that they don't tell you about when you're expecting.
YL - 🙏 that the young man is OK.
You know what? I think a group hug is required 🤗 (anyone remember that dodgy emoji? 🤣 ) Everybody in. And squeeeeeeze.
I'm up, made my bed, taken my meds, completed Wordle and Connections, and savoured my first brew.
Plan for this morning is to visit P and to pick up my prescription. And maybe do my Mr Al shop. The jury's out on that one at the moment. The store is sooo much quieter on Monday morning. We'll see.

Morning all, (takes a deep breath in, after that huuuuge group hug 🤗),
ASB - wot Round said. My mum guilt knows no bounds. You do an amazing job bringing up your children, don’t forget it x
Valli, so sad, but you did the right thing. I hope the Valligirl had a good time away x
YL, everything crossed for DS’ friend x
Narc0 - totally bonkers! But in a good way x
Slinky weigh in - 1kg lost. Oh yes, that was the 1kg that I put on last week 🙇♀️. This will be a long, long campaign at this rate.
I have a list for today. It involves the usual culprits of meal planning, making something out of the fridge contents, HH paperwork (might not happen, as usual). I also want to factor in some time to finish a pair of trousers that I’m making. I’m trying hard to fit in a bit of craft / sewing / knitting time each weekend in the name of me-time. It doesn’t always work tbh, but hey ho.
DH just going outside to batten down the hatches. Stay safe all x5 -
I have a heap of laundry waiting, i will be asking the Valligirl to sort … she goes away on Friday to Iceland (country not shop lol) so she’ll need some stuff washing. If i put it through it will get done on cheap rate, and i will be pegging out where possible.
I have bought beef for Sunday dinner, mum is coming dad probably not as he’s unwell…they’ve taken stool samples as he has a v. upset stomach and has for a while. IBS has been suggested but i highly doubt that as he has no pain or discomfort. He’s also got high blood pressure so i don’t think it’s looking good but quite frankly he’s bl00dy hard work atm and i’m quite looking forward to not seeing him later IYSWIM
