Redo - I didn't realise that avocados could be frozen. I will try freezing some as I had a dozen in a veg box this week. Lidl must have over ordered!

I think I used to get them at Tesco (I can't actually remember!). They're fine for guacamole or making chocolate mousse and stuff like that.3

Thank you for all of the info on maps and directions. @rtandon27 yes I have tried the google walk thing, when I used to go to London for work. It assumes you are facing the right way, and took me to the back of the buildings I wanted. Like @Humdinger1 I am ok once I memorise a list of what I need to pass so I was ok for repeat visits.
Outside work continued to day so I tried to use the 'stuck downstairs' time positively and made a start on one of those put it off jobs, cleaning and sorting the CDs into the correct cases, and deciding which ones I want to keep. This took far longer than I expected and there must be another box full somewhere as I have a lot of caseless cds and vice versa. Big pile for the charity shop etc.

Thank you GP, I'll prepare a few to freeze. I've nothing to lose, as I won't be able to eat my way through them all before they're too ripe.

@kayannie - in the past, I've made guacamole with a surplus of avocados and then frozen in dip size containers. If you push the stone into each container, it keeps the bright green colour of the avocado even when frozen and defrosted. We used to eat a lot of tacos and fajitas at one point & homemade guac is soooooooo much better!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)...and now I have a mortgage! (23 AUG 2021)New projection - 14 YEARS 10 MONTHS LEFT OF 20 YEARS (reduced by 15 mths)Psst...I may have started a diary!6

I may have mentioned this before and doubtless will again as I find it so interesting- I read a study ages ago about how women are 'worse' at directions only because maps and directions have always been written/dictated by men and we've grown up absorbing mens norms as the norms. Apparently women are no worse than men at directions when 'allowed' to navigate naturally, but women massively tend to use 'the big gnarly tree' or 'the church with the stained glass window' etc rather than 'X distance' or 'Y towards north' which is not how (subtle patriarchy) society teaches us it should be done.
Long story short, if you're a woman and need to ask for directions, you're likely much better off asking another woman8 -
Ooh interesting PiP. We walk a route through the woods local to us and I would always end up taking a different route but OH would always walk the same route using landmarks.
Once we discussed it I would use the same landmarks but the next year "little tree" didn't really help so much.
Many a conversation started with "shall we go to The Ivy" which was sadly not a restaurant but an ivy covered tree in the woods.9
