I just want the scaffolding down so I can see the impact of the work. Fairly solid rain today so limited progress but they did do a lot of tidying up in between getting very wet indeed so full points to them. I managed to chop quite a bit of skip lorry damaged tree up for the green waste bins rather than missing a collection opportunity tomorrow. Still lots of wisteria to go in and one more collection before Christmas I think.
I went for my walk as soon as they had gone, did get rather wet but felt better for it. Out this evening for SW, another 2lbs off, and I am on 16.6k steps.
KK kindly gave me some really thought provoking questions to consider when I was walking, and as a knock on from thinking about the answers I have started a food/fitness journal, and started a project book for the many things that need doing. It helps my head to write things down and I hate not having a plan, even if it isn't for huge dramatic change.
The naughty kitten chewed through the broadband cable while I was out. First time she has been caught chewing cables in ages so will need to keep an eye on her. My fellow residents got Dads electrical bag out, took the cable back down to clean ends and spliced them with a connector box which we have carefully buried and added some protection over the top. I have ordered a new cable, but I was really pleased that they knew what to do, how to do it and where to find his electrical bag without any contribution from me other than admiring noises. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Very well done on the further 2lbs off and the 16.6K steps! That’s good going 😊👏
Do you know when the roof works should be finished? You may have to chase the scaffolding company quite hard, if it’s a different business, as I get the impression that they sometimes use customers’ sites as free ‘storage’ before they reuse it at another site …
Seriously impressed by the cable response team! Bravo to them 😊❤️

@Sun_Addict @KajiKita - they have both really stepped up after losing Mr Redo, team effort to sort most things that we just assumed he would do. Over the last few years he had shown them both how to do little things which is really helping us now.
Pension 4 is finally in the bank, hurrah! and yes, as you thought @LadyWithAPlan, with a slight financial gain due to the delay and market movements.
And with excellent timing the P4nasonic compact bread maker I want is on sale at £90 in L4keland so I have ordered that. It only makes tiny loaves but that is perfect for us now.

As much as anything it's lovely how those little things taught to them by Mr Redo made an impression, to the extent that they are now able to calmly and confidently step forwards and say "we can deal with that".
Our breadmaker is also a Panny - and it's absolutely brilliant. MrEH's only gripe about it is that there is no delay timer option for the dough programme.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I love my PANason** bread maker though I only use for GF bread. Not sure how great it is at keeping one slim though
Glad at least you got some extra gains from the pension 4 delay and hassle
How great cable team came to the rescue and MR Redo skills continues forward.DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Great work from the cable rescue team. How nice that they learned the skills from Mr Redo. He will never be far from them when using the skills he taught.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!7 -
It was nice that they fixed it, but also that it was a team effort. Team Redo feels like a real thing instead of it just being me trying to do everything. I have bought a spare cable just in case the join fails.
The roof is now finished, luckily because we are on yellow storm warnings. Shame we haven't got any gutters yet.I have made a start on clearing his study but it is slow going. Lots of things where I haven't a clue what they are for. Most of his outdoor stuff is going into the storage crates, then all four can choose anything they want before I sell or donate to the Matlock place. He collected bags as well as coats, I hadn't realised quite how many rucksacks and day bags he had squirrelled away till I started on this room. Anyway, it's an evening job, pick a film on the iPad and do a films worth of clearing. There is lots of storage (it has a run of kitchen cupboards and 2 worktops) so it'll generate space for things from elsewhere. 4 sewing machines by the way...My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese
