I feel your pain, I’ve still got a double garage and a study full of ‘crap’ most of which I’ve no idea what it is …….. my dads coming over at Xmas and I thought I’d set him on the garage and help me sort out some of the stuff as he’s will know what’s what ! My OH loved gadgets so some of them really make me scratch my head 🤣🤣🤣Sealed pot challenge 822

@dawneybabes the struggle is real!
@CCW007 has a great name for my current challenges over on @KajiKita diary, 'We call those 9th square jobs. Do you remember those games where you had nine squares and removed one blank square to create a space then had to move the other squares one at a time in sequence to get them into the right position and show the picture?' So true for this house.
Anyway, a confession. It is now zero days since I bought a jumper.
I also bought lots of easy to prepare veg and fruit - my hands are playing up which so I don't eat hard to prep things, but equally they play up because I eat badly. More on offer meat for the freezer - which needs tidying.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

I think you'd deserve the jumper just on the grounds of the original presentation of your case!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Sympathies re the hands. I regretably no longer buy lemons for a similar reason & sank to a new low yesterday when I had to ask DS to open a bottle of lemon juice for me & it wasn't even a new one. We make the adjustments we have to. I do think that once you get past a certain stage then punchbags should be installed as the norm - the only problem is it would hurt to much to actually punch it.

Lemon juice seems to have a way of welding the lid of the bottle back on even once it's been opened BM - no shame in being defeated by it I say!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

No shame at all Were it not for the old lady gadget I bought at about 24 years old and still have and use I'm not sure I'd ever open a jar or bottle!Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!6 -
I could ask my fellow residents - the eldest after all got an A for his cooking GCSE before never cooking anything again - but it would never get done to my standards and on my timescales. The One Who Doesn't Eat likes to remind me of the potato peeling scar from the last time I insisted they assist - maybe 15 years ago. They will open things for me, and I do have an old lady gadget for screw tops etc.
What I do want to get is a new electronic tin opener. The last one failed after years of loyal service, and I didn't need a new one because Mr Redo pointed out that he had retired and would open the tins, the stupid foil things on milk cartons, corks out of bottles and peel all of the vegetables. I do like new kitchen gadgets. I think the last one was an arg0s one and it lasted for years till the motor burned out.
I still do not have my breadmaker. Lose every parcel have been driving it around since Saturday allegedly. The local chap is generally very good but I suspect it has gone into the big box pile and got ignored. Have chased both Every and L4keland today. If it doesn't arrive tomorrow then I will insist they send a replacement out.
I did do a vague check of presents list today, and look like I am on top of that. I need to write some cards for the neighbours and the few I post to people I won't see, but I default to writing 'from four names', and am finding it hard to adjust to writing 'three names' - like when the year changes and for the first week of January you have to check every time you write it.
The good news is that I have fascias and guttering, just a few more hours of work for them to do once the scaffolding comes down hurrah. I will need to get another skip booked too as there is a lot of rotten wood and broken bricks etc to go, and I can't get away with poking those in the council bins.
30 bags of logs (£135 delivered, H0mefire with a code) also arrived, not the cheapest way to buy logs but I am currently favouring convenience over cash. Safely stacked in the dry in the garage with the heat logs and a simple job for one of us to fetch some in as needed regardless of the weather. Quite comforting to look at actually. Like a full store cupboard in times of bad weather or financial stress.
My new jumper is a generously sized pale green v neck and is lovely and fluffy - a real joy to wear and looks good with jeans. MrT with 25% off. I did follow the rules and exit one that was more hole than jumper.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Oh my heart goes out to you trying to adjust to writing three names x
Maybe unless the 'kids' are bothered otherwise, you could write 'from Redo and family' for this year?5 -
