  • I do indeed remember sweetie, and hurrah for your sealant holding back rain ingress!  Thankfully our worst window, which has zero frame left on the bottom (inside) to seal, didn't leak during our thundery downpours because the wind must have been coming from the "right" direction.  So I've mucho to be grateful for already this morning.

Gas hob, wood burner, candles. As long as all devices are charged you’ll be fine. Where is the nearest food bank drop off? If the stuff is boxed up ready to go you can stick it in the car for when you are next passing.

Starting to get quotes for the work you need done is probably also a good idea so you can put a budget together.

Storms are due here this afternoon, so I need to get up and out into the garden, despite the cats telling me we should have a lie in!

Power cuts the reason to keep gas cookers etc.  If they want us to stop using gas then they should stop it being possible to have power cuts.  I do wonder which planet some of the people in charge live on.  Certainly not the one the rest of us do.
