I do indeed remember sweetie, and hurrah for your sealant holding back rain ingress! Thankfully our worst window, which has zero frame left on the bottom (inside) to seal, didn't leak during our thundery downpours because the wind must have been coming from the "right" direction. So I've mucho to be grateful for already this morning.

Gas hob, wood burner, candles. As long as all devices are charged you’ll be fine. Where is the nearest food bank drop off? If the stuff is boxed up ready to go you can stick it in the car for when you are next passing.Starting to get quotes for the work you need done is probably also a good idea so you can put a budget together.Storms are due here this afternoon, so I need to get up and out into the garden, despite the cats telling me we should have a lie in!4

Lovely idea for the food bank to benefit from the foods that nobody else in the house will eat.
Boo to stormy weather and power cuts though - hopefully you are all up and running again now? We had storms overnight but nothing particularly close - although Mum tells me that the dog was demanding to be let up on the bed in the middle of the night as she was scared! (That’s the dog being scared, not Mum. mum was mostly miffed at having her sleep disturbed by a small hairy person!)🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

No powers off, hopefully back on by 3 says the website. Probably should go out but I'd have to wade to the car and no idea what the roads are like. Mobile signal keeps going too

Got to laugh, looking for more torches in case the power doesn't come back on. Found his emergency bag with functioning torch, charged power bank and a cash bonus. I know he had a few of these set ups but had forgotten. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Power cuts the reason to keep gas cookers etc. If they want us to stop using gas then they should stop it being possible to have power cuts. I do wonder which planet some of the people in charge live on. Certainly not the one the rest of us do.

I much prefer cooking on a gas hob anyway. We do also own several camping stove set ups and a proper kettle - no idea how to use any of them. He used to make me bacon and coffee on them on the right walks (where you could light a fire). It has now updated to off till 5pm so I'm going to light the fire shortly which will help with lighting too. Must clean the glass first.Hopefully the freezer is ok - it did have power for a while overnight and I'm sure it's good for 24 hours if you don't open it.Billy bonus I found a bag of mini chocolate orange segments with his emergency stash.they are whispering to me.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

If you have no power, chocolate is essential.
Might be an idea to work out how to use the camping stoves at some point.6 -
Freezer should be fine for a couple of days unless midsummer heatwave, just don't open the door.
