That's what his dog is doing whenever anyone comes in the gate or parks in the drive. Gets me every time. Poor dog.

Nursery food (scrambled eggs, cheese on toast, soups etc) are easy to make and eat at times like this. Add in a some ‘picky bits’ of chopped veggies and dips for people, to snack on along with the cherry tomatoes and everyone will be getting fibre too. 

Glad the cats are being comforting x

You have done a huge amount. Unfortunately there does tend to be a lot of paperwork to do. 

Be careful with the driving, and think about whether you need someone with you - even if not in the meeting with the funeral director, to be there before and after and on the drive. If you aren’t up to going out they may be happy to do a home visit.

It sounds as I you and the kitten need a hot water bottle each.

Bereavement people are not answering the phone and have not called me back.  *Breathes*

Just move on to the next thing on the list and come back to it later. Or play with the kitten or fuss the dogs. Or go out into the garden and breathe fresh air. You've done a huge amount over the weekend.

I would imagine the 'doing' is keeping you going at the moment. It's very early days and you're still in shock. Don't be afraid to accept offers of help that come your way. And do whatever you need to do to get yourself through one day at a time.
