I was quite surprised I qualified for anything but you are right @dawnybabes we will get that at the lowest rate but still very welcome and useful. I am so sorry for your loss too. I've had to silicon seal the shower tonight and I could feel him cringing over my shoulder at my cackhanded approach.
Thank you again everyone. I am better doing something rather than moping (although I do get very upset at least once an hour) so you will still see me posting elsewhere.

He would be very proud of you for getting on with it and finishing the shower. Although I'm sure he'd provide constructive criticism...
My dad used to do a lot of my DIY, and was very patient showing me how to do things. I still hear his voice when I'm trying to do things - mostly telling me to slow down.4 -

Horrible insomnia, woke up in a panic just after 2am. My little princess kept me company until I went to make tea with the dawn chorus. The five cats are all doing their bit to offer comfort and insisting on sitting on each of us and purring. It does help. The dogs belonged to Mr Redo and they are patiently waiting for him to come home. I added lots of dog treats to my shopping order.Short term cash flow is going to be non existent so I need to be careful on what is spent though longer term we will be ok. Nobody really wants to eat anyway but I had just put a batch of chickpeas in then I got the first call and I made some veg soup in the soup machine because that was easy. I did vaguely check the fridge and froze some bits. Eggs and cheese need using or freezing today.Fun fact. If you leave the cooked chick peas in the instant pot for six hours then the water turns to jelly. I rinsed them in hot water and they are being eaten without complaint.
MrT delivering today rather than have to go out for milk etc. I did try to get some easy stuff (pizza) and remembered GF bread and biscuits so there is something I can make myself eat.Must also pick the runner beans and the toms. Haven't watered the greenhouse either. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Beans and toms can go straight in the freezer (might be worth washing them I guess) to deal with at some point in the future. Chickpea jelly can be used as stock for soup-making. Frittata freezes well and reheats easily.3

Morning redo
how splendid - HG veg. Are the tommies cherry or salad/beefsteak? LG loves topping and tailing beans - funny how certain activities really engage, isn't it?
The jelly in the chickpeas would just be the Aqua Faba, wouldn't it? perfectly ok.

There are quite a few dotted around the country. I don't have any contacts these days, but I do know of a circle in northallerton if that's useful?Save £12k in 2025 #33 £2531.77/£5000 (If this carries on I might have to up my target!)

That made me laugh @KeepOnKnitting, he loved stone circles and one of our first walks was to Arbour Low near Ashbourne. There is a natural burial ground within walking distance of this house, and also some standing stones where I shall sit on the hill and remember him once all the organised people stuff is over.GP, first year in a while that I had time to grow anything much but also terrible for slugs. The toms are cherry and tasty little bites of intense flavour, but there are also some big plum tomatoes ripe that are supposed to be the best for tomato sauce. Cheap middle of supermarket seeds (6 lots of seeds for £1 iirc) but very successful. Might make delias Bloody Mary soup with them actually.
Probably cheese omelettes. Frittata might work but no suitable veg etc. beans I will freeze. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese
