Cherryfudge said:That sounds interesting @Watty1 - mine only go out by dribs and drabs and I've no idea what a professional declutterer would make of them! Did yours do the 'when did you last wear it?/does it fit/do you still like it/do you have another that fills the same role?' approach? Then it was declutter time and she came to me and sorted everything. We agreed I would keep 5 sentimental things then if it didn’t fit or didn’t suit me it went out then she showed me how to use what I had. So more about repurposing. She made me see I had some great stuff I didn’t wear and how to make that work. I sold lots of stuff that went out. And then had a small list of things I needed. It was so therapeutic. I then had a couple of calls afterwards so more like therapy via the wardrobe. I put her bill through my company as it was more coaching than decluttering. There probably more than you wanted to know but in short it was empty the wardrobe then make up outfits 😀 with one itemMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

I hope somebody dusted the sign, I certainly didn't.
Big rain overnight (hurrah says the garden) and very windy so an inside day, after food shopping and a drop off at the very local charity place. They had a few balls of very nice real wool again so they came home with me. I did manage to leave the house and not buy any plants at least.
Finances - £100 from NW, hurrah. Need to check the interests rates and see if a move round would generate more income. The 5% bond from NW is a good rate. Still haven't done the tax returns.
Garden - must stop buying plants until everything in temporary pots is in the new borders. DS1 has been doing the hard labour and we have made a lot of progress as a result. The weeding feels never ending but more on top of it then usual.
House - need to clear ahead of ensuite installation. His crafting man cave must have some stuff removed for access to the pipes but I am overwhelmed whenever I stick my head round the door. The spare bedroom has to be useable. I think I need to do 15 minute timer approach on the craft room, and 30 minute blasts on the spare room.
I also need to work out why the wooden front door is sticking. It wasn't yesterday, nothing obvious so it may be swollen with rain - south facing so it gets blasted by sun and then soaked by rain.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Be worth checking whether the front door has dropped on it's hinges as well.
Could someone else (a local friend?) come in to help with the crafting man cave, just to get the pipes accessible? (I'd be happy to do it if I were closer)

Someone else has just started a thread about a sticking door. I blame the rain plus warm weather, but that's totally guesswork.
I do feel for you with the cave... spiders or no. Do you know of one item from there that you'd like to take out and keep? Even if it's a useful screwdriver or packet of fuses? Perhaps that would break the impasse. On the other hand, if it's like caves of my acquaintance, you might end up with the garden under mountains of stuff before you get near the target. Or perhaps you could find just one item of junk that matches some random requirement: 'must be cardboard' or 'smaller than the palm of my hand'. Don't aim to do the lot, that's like climbing the mountain in one jump.
I wish I could draw because in my head there's a cartoon of a large spider handing something out through the door which is just a crack open. The caption is 'Is this what you're after?'
And @Watty1, I never imagined a professional sorter-outer would be so sensitive. An eye opener. I can see how that becomes a work expense because, seen from the outside, it's about presentation of self and therefore of the company. Experience-wise, I imagine it's a sort of cleansing.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

My front door used to stick until it was repainted - but - clearly it still swells a bit as the filler lines are obvious now (I need to retouch the paintwork).
I'd offer to help with the mancave if I was nearer, i do hope you can prevail on someone to pop in for half an hour bribed by tea and cake!Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Yes, where are you @redofromstart? I'd love to help if I can fit it in round a few fixed things I have to do. Love Humdinger xx6
