Thank you all. Greenbee I generally either try to go to places on weekdays and/or go first thing in the morning if they are only open at weekends. That said I did go into the local market town today and walked around a craft fair in the sunshine. Lots to see, and a lot less tempting than plants but far too many people.
Plenty going on in the garden, lots of pretty things starting to flower especially the young plants I put in last summer which have bedded in nicely. The strawberries (old and new - thanks Mum!) are flowering well in the polytunnel, lots of flowers and young fruit starting off. The raspberries are romping away as well, third year for these ones so hopefully a good crop.
I had made a beef casserole which we reluctantly had a portion of yesterday (with RTC jersey royals - glorious) but it is just far too hot for stew. I will have to squeeze the rest in to the freezer and have done some chicken to have cold with salad. Caesar salad maybe. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Your day sounds nice. I had a salad today as it felt to warm for hot food...If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Hope you found some @Seasidegal58Salad here again @doingitanyway
i poached some chicken in the instant pot today which I then had cold with salad. Cheap frozen breasts, stock diluted enough to nearly cover them and then 12 minutes cooking time, half an hour release. Evil cat says it's the best chicken even, I quite liked it too and will make them again. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Yes @doingitanyway cooking them from frozen, just covered in stock and then 12 minutes under pressure and natural release. I have seen suggestions that shorter time works but I didn't want to risk it. They would probably be better pressure cooked for a shorter time not using frozen ones as you get that bit of ooze when you cook from frozen, but on the whole a good way to make not dry chicken for eating cold. Vague plan to make coronation chicken with mine today as I have mango chutney and dried apricots.
I went to L1dl this morning and picked up more frozen pretzels and then played freezer tetris till I squeezed them in. Also B0yes for wool (shh, naughty spending) and a replacement fly screen for the middle hall.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese
