The chair sounds like a lovely find - cat-approved is a good start. I spotted a couple of Ercol chairs for sale locally at what I think is a very good price, despite one being damaged. I'm busy resisting but there's a certain 'look' to Ercol and I have two I inherited so while not the same style, they could be friends... but I have no need and no space.
Well done on the decluttering too!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

That chair sounds like an amazing find 😊 Glad PP approves 😉
It sounds like you are becoming more confident and decisive about the decluttering. Interesting that fellow residents are now getting behind the changes it brings … 😊🤔

I also think the chair is a good find. So is the real wool from the charity shop. I am also on the hunt for quality curtains after putting some up just for now...

Thank you - there has been a brief pause to actually do some cleaning, and then I was away briefly to admire a friends house and garden. Back at it today although it will be just pottering so I don't grind to a halt from doing too much.
I came back with lots of things to plant, the things in pots can wait for a few days but uprooted things from a generous gardener friend need something doing with them today. It was lovely to go and visit a proper plant nursery rather than a chain garden centre, and we did end up going back to buy the things I wanted after I had done my research and thought about where I would put them.
Apparently PP mostly lived on the new chair, and is currently snoring there. Clearly 'hers' now.
Cherryfudge, I have an Ercol chair which is 'my' chair in the Snug, perfect for reading in front of the fire. Clearly built to last, and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another if I had somewhere specific to put it.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Lovely to hear about your visit to a proper plant nursery. We have one just a few miles from us which is where I plan to buy most of my hanging basket and planter summer plants from. They tend to have the usuals together with more interesting geraniums and trailing begonias etc. I am no expert but remember watching Mum and some things have “stuck”. One thing in particular is I like to line my hanging and wall baskets with sphagnum moss and already have a bag waiting for warmer weather!Tilly Tidying andPADing in 2024 £250.62

Wonderful to visit a proper p,ant nursery. I feel so lucky to have one close to me 😊
Sounds like you had a good time at your friend’s and that the animals were well cared for in your absence if was noted where PP spent most of her time 😊😉❤️

Sallyforth and KK I think I would be significantly poorer if I had a decent nursery locally. At least with the big chains I just look and mutter about the prices rather than buying things.
Little bits of gardening and tidying going on. Some hefty pots got planted up and need moving to the top patio. I still have two raised beds to build and will inevitably need more compost. Lots of watering last night.Ridiculously proud of myself yesterday, the hose pipe would not stay on the outside tap. Eventually decided that the plastic connector has perished, remembered I had seen some spares in the garage, found them, watched you tube video, cut the end off the hose and put the new fitting on and hurrah it works. It's only a small thing but it's a big thing for me as I'm generally quite clumsy because of my joint problems.
My 'try new things' for this month is already booked, a gardening related day course. Yes I already know a little bit about gardening but I have never been on a formal session about it.The crochet is going well too, I had some self striping wool and am making a throw which pulls together the blues and greens of my bedroom. Straight treble crochet so lots of practice of that and it is nice wool to work with as it doesn't split like the practice ball.I have another of the 'big bins' arriving today, and while I have quite a lot of black bags on the patio ready to go I will need to spend some more time sorting through things. Shame to waste gardening weather but it has to be done.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

I think I need you round here to show me how to attach the pressure hose we sometimes borrowed off our son - I couldn't get it to adapt to our tap at all. What's more your new skill has saved money that can now go towards more plants.
And you've beaten the joint problems to get there. No thumbs up emoji but I'd have used it if there was.
A Blue/green throw sounds very restful, and all the practice will have you crocheting without thinking.
It's beautiful weather here today and I need to mow the lawn - and what's more I feel I have the energy. I might take inspiration from you and work on weeding some of the planters too.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

You have reminded me of my childhood, with hose fittings, a mug of boiling water to soften the end of the hose, and a hacksaw. We had a lot of different length of hoses at my grandparents house, lots of connections needed to get all around the garden. But very little went in the bin.
