Has anyone used vintage cash cow, and if so do you have a referral code that you could send to me?My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Great that the ensuite has come quoted in at a decent price as it is definitely something that makes people want a house more. Good you have now an order of priority as well on the study.
DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Good news about the ensuite. I've never had one but I'd kill for a second toilet!"If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney4

Lovely to see you back posting doingitanyway
I think it will certainly add to the appeal of the house, even if it doesn't add value. I've just messaged him to book. At least I'll get the benefit in the meantime.
Jwil, the last house had one ground floor toilet and six people over three floors. Less cleaning but more waiting.I'm feeling much brighter and more able to get things done this week which is a relief. PIPs 'get things done before spring equinox' drive here is really helping.Today is one of my 'be a shade braver' things. This afternoon I have the 'beginners crochet' workshop at the emporium of hobby stuff. I wasn't getting on very well with trying to learn by myself but it is less painful for my hands than knitting so I want to learn, and to use up the materials that Mr Redo bought. If I hate it then I know I can rehome them so it's a win either way.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Hopefully the crochet will be fun and you'll meet some nice people! A very patient friend taught me and I found it harder to learn than knitting but a lot of fun and very relaxing once I got going. Nowadays I prefer it, though I still knit.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Since moving I have visited a sewing class, not the same thing, but out of my comfort zone. I'm a bit rubbish but tell myself it is good for my brain to acquire new skills so I will keep at it! as @Cherryfudge rightly says, you will meet some nice people. I did.If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Thanks Cherry and DIA, you were right. It was helpful and the people friendly. I've come away knowing what I was doing wrong and comfortable with the basic stitches. Glad I went. I did buy some better fat hooks for my old lady hands and did an hours practice last night so I don't forget what I was shown.
I also finally sorted the insurance for the little car, which ended up £200 less than the lowest comparison site quote, surprisingly by staying with current provider once I had confirmed the pass dates. At least now they can both drive without me and it was still less than more driving lessons so a relief all round. I will poke them to go out once it starts.
It looks like it'll be a nice day again so I need to get some more of the line dry only outdoor stuff washed before it can be sold or donated.Ive been listening to podcasts and audio books when I am out walking. It blocks the inner dialogue and it's a lot less emotional than music. I've always hated being read to so thus is a very new thing for me, but Alan T reading his own gardeners almanac for example is actually quite soothing.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

I can highly recommend the podcast Strangers on a Bench. It's a lovely 30 minutes podcast where the actor Tom Rosenthal sits on a bench next to a stranger and asks them to talk about themselves. I only discovered it a few weeks ago and I love it.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7

Delurking to say that I have Vintage Cow twice in the last three years.
I am very impressed with them and both offers were more than I expected.
You really can’t lose as they pay the postage and if the offer is not acceptable they pay the postage to
return your items.4
