So many little sensitivity dances we have to do after a loved one's death. So tiring. You're doing great. If anyone objects you can gently point out that having the sun not blocked is of benefit to all who want to enjoy the garden, and that you're investing in the property for other's eventual benefit!7

Thanks PIP, I have said that I am removing it and DS1 said good, will be easier to mow so that is sorted. I think we can all see how the house is slowly looking better for being emptier.
A tired day after yesterdays big push, so read in bed for a bit, did some admin and the short trip to drop some boxes of books off at the local charity shop. Little bit of a potter outside, not so warm today but still nice fiddling with plants in the sunshine.
Two unplanned spends, in the email there is a 25% off code for Holl&Bar where I had a short list of things I want but was waiting for a code. Med1canimal (who I have used for flea stuff previously) have Catsan 20l bags at c£7.50 and 350g chicken dreamies at under £3 per tub which is a great price for things I would buy at full price so that had to be done. I also need to order some Epsom Salts (Hexeal looks good, thanks Greenbee). My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Hexeal are also good for bicarb, white vinegar, deionised water, and citric acid
All part of my attempt to buy direct and skip the marketplaces.

Glad you had support for the changes in the garden

A few days of rest thanks to my pesty Fibro which is playing up. A day out yesterday which was interesting and motivational (busy re-planning the garden in my head) so need to be slow and steady today. I hadn't spent hours at a stretch sitting still for 16 months and I needed the epsom salts bath last night. The rain has finally arrived so I am hoping the garden will get a good soak. If it doesn't then I will need to water again later.

My remedy for all life's ills. No one ever hade an Epsom salts bath and felt worse...take it easy...If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Thanks doingitanyway I meant to say I hadn't got round to ordering any but H0meBargains had a 5kg bag for £5 which is a great price and will keep me going for a few weeks.
MrM this morning, they had already started their Easter Veg offers - 8p for carrots/swede/parsnips. The better quality potatoes are half price so £1.10 got me 8 good (jacket) sized decent variety potatoes. They looked end of season and unlikely to store well. I have the app, and they have an easter advent type thing running, first day was a free cream egg (no stock), yesterday was 50p of points, and today was £5 of points so I am pleased with that. You have three days to use the voucher from opening it.
I also went back to the garden centre with the catmint, and invested in more. PP and TT are rolling round the patio in a happy haze, while Evil is waiting for them to go away so that he can claim it all. The plant design course chap recommended them as easier than lavender for a similar visual effect. I bet he hasn't got any cats. Anyway I plan to use them up in the sunbaked stone circle area. I suspect I will need more wire baskets to cover them despite my strength in numbers theory. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Might need to drag myself to Morrisons if the carrots are 8p, as Tesco are doing 15p and I need to restock the freezer with dog carrots as we're down to the last of the Christmas bags. It's near the nursery of dead plants which has good pots, so I could visit that.5

Gusty winds here and rather cold.
I did nip out with the intention of buying a couple of the half price beef joints for the freezer, but no stock. I picked up the MrM Easter promotion free HXB for DS1, another 60p of points and used the £1 off plants towards another waxed amaryllis for the north facing window ledge in my study. The Christmas one did well. I peeled the wax off afterwards and potted it up for the kitchen, it has now rewarded me with another flower on its way. I can't risk soil or water near my laptop as my furry friends think vases and plant pots are a personal challenge.
The One Who Doesn't Eat has finished all of the frozen pretzels so yesterday I had a go at making some. They were deemed 'edible', but next time I need to make the dough strips much longer so that they don't rise into little fat buns. Nice to do something approaching baking for a change because I have pretty much abandoned proper cooking at the moment. I did order some decent cheese and some good smoked salmon so there are good things to eat this week without any major effort.
