Well done on the hose. I have a lot of practice at that with my complicated irrigation system in the veg plot, but am currently struggling with one hose in the veg plot that I need to use for the spray/pressure washer.
Enjoy the sunshine, even if it is only taking stuff to the bin. I'm inside with ppt slides.4 -

sorry re the cauli rice - buscopan is v good at helping with the aftermath of ibs etcDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Very impressed with the hose fix.
Could you take a pile/bag of stuff outside to sort? At least you'll be getting garden time if not gardening time4 -
Well done on sorting out the hose. Mr SA always struggles with connecting the hose for the pressure washer to the outside tap.
We are lucky to have a plant nursery at our local park. They grow plants for the council and sell the surplus. They're not cheap but a lot cheaper than garden centres. They often have special offers when they've grown too many and also run the odd workshop to teach people about growing things. The staff are very knowledgeable and happy to give advice even if you don't buy anything. We've also just had a micro garden centre shop open on a local high street. Only had a quick glance so far but thought they were a bit overpriced.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6 -

Magnolia 'Heaven Scent' in front - that was a good sized young tree from a decent nursery in 2007 or 2008. Behind it the smaller 'Stellata Rosea' which was bought from Lidl or Aldi for under £10 and planted at the same time. It's a good year, in a bad year the frost damages the flowers. Lovely trees.
Thank you all - only a little thing, but one more thing I now know how to repair without paying someone to help.
PIP - I ended up clearing things from the garage and the polytunnel so mostly outside. Did too much and wrote off today which is fairly standard for me.
I picked a nice shiny new notebook and have started ona room by room 'what needs to be done - essential and desirable' master list with the intention of ticking off at least one thing each week. Some of them are things we should be able to do and it will at least remind me when we have trades in of exactly what I need them to do.
I have mostly sat today, bit of reading, and then a short burst of watering plants but even the short walk down to the village shop for milk was tiring so a sit down and crochet evening for me. Luckily I made extra risotto yesterday so a simple ping dinner. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Glorious magnolias! Mine is looking a bit straggly from an unknown number of years as part of a hedge being cut with a flail! I have a small stellata rosea which seems to be happy, and a Susan that was eaten by bugs last year so is very sad (we moved it and it seems to be recovering). There are two more that were delivered a couple of days ago and need dealing with. They're in 9cm pots, so will go into pots and hopefully be suitable for planting out in a year or so when I have made beds in what is now a vast expanse of rough grass.5
