Enjoy your break and hopefully lots of time with food, good books and a fire will help restore you
DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Have a lovely relaxing break away.
I switched to Nationwide a couple of years ago, it was the first time I'd ever switched banks and it was such a smooth process. The only thing I miss about my old bank is the happy payday message I used to get from them 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6 -
Enjoy your break, fingers crossed doglet travelled well.4

Thank you all. The journey was fine and we are both satisfied with the dog safety solution. No sliding and she can't jump out as the boot is opening or closing. It has been nice to come back to a place we know, she was immediately at the cottage gate ready to go over to the estuary marshes and for the first time in many months she did her happy dance in big circles out of sheer joy. We went again this morning, and then to a NT nature reserve down the coast for another big beach walk.We came back via Booths. I have all of the Lancashire cheese, and lots of nice treaty things for the next few days. She is sleeping off her exhausting morning before we head back over to the marsh again.
What I love about this place is that the view from the cottage is over the marsh to the estuary, and it's a 2 minute stroll for her to be off lead and happy exploring while I bird watch. So peaceful and quiet with the lovely distant views. The cottage itself is warm and well equipped without being full of clutter. I spent last night reading on the sofa in front of the wood burner. It has reinforced that I do not want to live the rest of my life listening to the motorway in the distance. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese
