There's an art form to filling it properly too isn't there Watty, so satisfying. I am filling gaps in now with smaller things before I add the final top layers. Thanks Beanie, much better for sleeping and I have no plans to touch secateurs for a few days. I mostly manage to work round the pesty fibro and I am always grateful for that.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Well done on the skip!!DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Well done on the skip filling. I've managed to avoid getting one so far here, which I'm surprised about (I did have to cut a carpet up into small pieces to get it in the bin over several months, and have done the same with the loft boards from the garage. I think the trades here are better at taking their rubbish away with them than the ones at the last place which helps.
My garden waste bins are now empty, so I need to refill them at some point, but we have fog.7 -
House progress
The skip is full but still on the drive. Hoping they pick it up today. Lots of scrap wood and metal gone (from his various hobbies) and I can see the impact even though there is still a huge amount to do. I also found that a very local charity place that accepts donations so all the bagged up stuff is gone, and I can easily go each time I have a boot full which is a lot cheaper, easier and less stressful than driving in to the city to the hospice warehouse, to then find that they are not accepting donations, etc. This week is about cleaning and tidying as I ignored that last week to focus on skip filling.
Finances
Some more PA done and a small payout. The bank account transfer is in a few days so I need to check the transactions I need to do to qualify for the £175 - transfer in £1k and use the debit card I think. Two pairs of PJ purchased - think they will help with me being warmer and for early morning back door trips with the furry alarm clocks.
Diet and Exercise
A poor week for this with much junk and two lots of wine consumed, reasonable for steps due to back and forth to the skip walking, but not actual leg stretching exercise. Need to get back on that. Expecting a gain at fat club. I am away for a few days shortly which will help with the walking as I am taking Doglet with me. I am going back to the same cottage we went to on our last trip away together which is both comforting and mildly stressful.
Garden
I had my usual not raining walk round the garden earlier, and helped PP out of next doors cherry tree where she was wailing pathetically that she was lost and stuck. I then noticed that one of their other trees has taken some major damage and is hanging over their fence. I need to see if I can manage to sort it, or if I will need to ask them to do so (they are very nice) before it makes their rotten fence any worse. Turned to come back inside and watched PP run straight up the giant conifer she had to be rescued from last week. Reader, I have left her to it. I can hear her distant wails from the back door. Silly cat. (ETA She did dash back into the house with a puffball tail, and has now gone to sleep off the excitement...)

Brilliant progress, and if you want junk and wine then have it, just make sure to be having fruit and veg and water too!
Cottage sounds lovely albeit bound to have lots of mixed feelings, but good for healing to feel those feelings eh. Hope you have a restful time with lots of nice walks, and lots of nice time in your new jimjams

PIP, it is a nice cottage with a wood burning stove that my relative is kindly lending to me in exchange for being there when a new appliance is fitted, so I plan to load up my kindle, and spend far too much money on nice things to eat in B00ths.
Spendywendywoo, lovely to see you posting here.
Greenbee, I bet it is very confusing for them, and for the birds. When the (scots pine maybe?) tree got taken out of the church yard next to us you could hear the owls hooting in protest for a few weeks afterwards.
Daisy_1571 Evil in particular does not agree with me not getting up to his schedule. Yesterday he was licking my eyebrows at 6am, most disconcerting especially as he is known to bite.
EH, it is a lovely spot for bird watching with a sea estuary two minutes walk away so a peaceful place for me, with an enforced rest.
I took Doglet for a long walk earlier through the nature reserve just behind us. I hadn't been on my own for a long time but it was ok. Much nicer than the roads round the village anyway. I then walked down to the co-op on my own to use the new debit card before I forgot that I needed to. A conscious effort to move more and to spend at least some time outside every day.
The skip has been collected hurrah, although I now need to sweep the drive. Probably a job for tomorrow though as it is cold and trying to rain again.
Forward planning means I have ordered food for the furry people, wouldn't want anyone to be eaten by a ravenous Evil. I have also booked a SM delivery for Sunday so I can make sure my fellow residents eat something appropriate this time. Yes they are adults, yes they can cook, yes they could walk to the co-op, etc but they won't. The one who doesn't eat in particular will just not eat although they will ensure between them that the cats are fed. The joys of living with neurodivergence and being a nice responsible mother.
