I need to get a skip. We have filled our car port with skip fodder. I do love filling a skip and have put off getting one until we have enough to fill the whole thing.
I have the same problem with feeding my fellow residents....they will just eat junk all day if I don't shop and make healthy foods visible when the fridge / cupboard door opens. I've come home today to DD having stolen my GF vegan snacks because she couldn't be bothered making lunch 🤦🏻♀️ kids.MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. I sometimes wonder if we should give up being responsible & see how many pizzas they manage to eat before even they hanker after something actually edible. I mean cheese or cheese & tomato & if really pushed (when mother says they were out of the others) cheese & veg. He will only eat meat if I cooked it. Maybe by the time he reaches his 50s (and I'm 85) he will join the real world, roll on 2031.

Finances
I am impressed with Nationwide, the switch went well, the online banking makes sense and updates instantly, and best of all the £175 for switching paid out within 24 hours of the switch completing. I've added £1.5k for the 5% interest and opened the regular saver, and will swap that card in to my daily use purse for the cashback. Not done a lot of PA though.
House
The wind is busy damaging things (notably the garden gates are broken) and every so often there is another crash from outside, my sympathies are with those in the red zones. No progress otherwise, really not been in the mood to sort anything out.
Spending
I invested in a dog bed for the car back seat, but the straps don't hold it tight enough and she was sliding about so now she is reluctant to go in the car at all. I have sent it back and will try again. We had a vehicle specific cage for her in the old car but I am not sure it will fit mine, it rattled and it took up a lot of room. I have invested in a safety harness and a different bed for the boot to try which arrives today. She is coming away with me so I need a way to keep her safe in the car. I have at least worked out how to turn the inside alarm off if she has to be left in the car for a few minutes.
And the church bells just rang five times for 1.04pm. Perhaps the wind has damaged something?

Is the doggle a Spaniel?4

No, she is a Lurcher, very long legged with little bulk so she slides in the car. And dribbles on the windows and the upholstery. I need her to be safe when I am driving, but also to be able to leave her in the car long enough to pay for petrol, etc. Otherwise you come back and she is in the front seat, chewing the polos she has nicked, etc.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Dog guard in the boot? Fabric travel crate (mine hates his as he can't see out, so I'm going to try a fabric basket with a non-slip bottom on top of a piece of old carpet which is what my dad used to do.
Am watching my fence think about blowing down... I established this morning on (on my walk which takes me down the far side of it in the wood) that quite a few posts are rotten at the bottom.5 -
