  • Well I've slept most of the day away. DP has brought me water and fruit, I wasn't up for eating much else. Cold shivers turned into hot temperatures making me feel like I was on fire. I've read a book during my waking moments although my eyes are so sore I've abandoned it a few times. But finished it off. I've only taken one paracetamol all day when my headache got too bad. I think you're better off burning the bug off naturally if possible as it goes quicker...but feeling really rough think I will take some more paracetamol before dinner. Chest is all rattly too. Meh. I hate being ill.

Hopefully be better for work on Thursday as I don't get sick pay during probation.

NSD though so silver lining 🤣.

Will try and eat a proper dinner but appetite has disappeared.

I messaged the company I bought bushes from yesterday and have received a reply. As expected they want me to wait until spring to see if they start springing back to life. But they have put a note on my order in case they don't look good by then.

You poor thing, hope bug leaves quickly.
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

I hope you feel better soon.  There are a lot of illnesses going through our school.  I'm trying to keep away from it but DD2 came home sniffling today too.

  • Morning all, thanks for the sympathies. I hate winter bugs.. I have been feeling this one coming on for weeks now. Thought I'd managed to fight it off though. No such luck. I am feeling slightly better this morning, not falling over dizzy every time I get up and hot and cold flushes for the most part have calmed down. I have slept a lot the last 24 hours so that's helped and I made myself eat some food...DP kindly brought me two fruit bowls during the day and made me a plain jacket pot with some salad and I drank enough water for a week to try and flush it out! I was able to drink tea this morning so DP joked I must be feeling better as I turned my nose up at it yesterday
I've made it down to the sofa this morning but not sure I want to stay here, DP painted the bookcases he made last night and it's still quite smelly in here from the primer, so the window is open which is making it really cold. I might have to go back up to the bedroom in a bit.
My chest is very crackly so will have lots of warm drinks today and try and loosen whatever is on there.
Thankfully it is my day off anyway, and I only have two days at work so if I feel like this tomorrow I will go in, and then just rest at the weekend again. My 3 month probation meeting is on Friday too so I want to be in for that really if I can. Not that I will be sad to miss a Friday mind you....

Cashed out some money on pr0l1fic this morning. Will send it over as a MOP.  I know I should be getting my EF up as a priority but the mortgage feels just as important to pay down to me so I will be paying over to that from the surveys I do. I am nearly at my £100 goal for Feb already, my usual £60 OP went out, I paid £25 across already, and I will send the £6 odd across which will bring it to over £90 already 👏.
