ohh bedknobs and broomsticks, i've adored those Victorian beds eversince! So wanted one for the cottage but wont fit under the ceiling.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!1 -
Ah I’m so sorry you’ve been so poorly. There’s so much going about! I’m glad you’re on the mend. You’re so busy all of the time your body probably needed to stop, as much as you’re having itchy feet to get going now.3

Morning all,
I'm preparing myself to go back to work tomorrow. I'm still not 100% but I really don't want to lose any more wages or it will throw my whole budget out (probably already has losing three days). I am telling myself I can get through the day with lemsip or similar and have early nights ...it's only Mon and Tues which are both shorter days -10-4 and then 9-3......and then weds to rest if I need to. Then Thur and Fri full days -before a week's holiday. So I'm going to do it even though the furthest I've walked is around the park yesterday which only took ten minutes and I was all wobbly 🙈. I'll be fine .... Today DP is going to do the shopping for me. I've done the easiest meal plan ever. Lots of salads, veg, fruit with rice meals, jacket potatoes and not much else. I'm trying to take into account me not being well and being at work all day and also DP being at work all day. I've put plenty on the list to make smoothies and soups too as DD is having two teeth out next week and will be in pain needing soft foods for a while.
The tutor I'm usually with on a Friday has been in our group chat and stated she's tested positive for covid, she privately messaged me and said 10/12 students were off sick on Friday, some saying novovirus, some flu, some covid...weird huh!! So I think we've all caught it at the same time really even if there is dispute as to what it is 😆. Feels like flu to me. I'm praying they're all off still next Friday to make it nice and easy for me but I doubt I'd have that much luck 🫣🤣. Other people came in the chat and said they were off or their kids were sick ...it really seems to be going through all of us here like a tidal wave. Praying my DS doesn't get It nor DP before next weekend as they're both booked to do the dry ski lessons and we've already paid for it ...don't think there is a cancellation process where will get that money back! So fingers crossed it doesn't spread through my house 🙈.
Right I'm off to make sure I've got warm clean clothes for next week and enough lemsip to get me through the week then I'm going to spend the last day resting but doing a few jobs. Hope everyone has had a good weekend so far 😊.MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. Thanks @debtfreewannabe321 my weekend is good thank you. Not friendly that you are going through a rough time, it is probably worse if you are a bit run down or have done so much that you haven't rested enough (like you normally do), but maybe that is just me. You sound like when you are fine you are pushing yourself to the limit, you really need to learn to pace yourself, yes you will feel it on friday but not so that you are keeling over!! I know you must have picked up a bug but possibly you were run down because you haven't taken enough care of yourself. Maybe picking up a sitting down hobby like cross stitch or knitting would be quite therapeutic for you. Just an idea. I know you have things to do on the house, but perhaps you could pace your self doing that too, rather then do everything in one go. Why not list everything that needs to be done take the item you most want out of the way or the least enjoyed and break it down into smaller chunks. You are not a machine after all. Wishing good things for you. CrazyBeeXX1

I've made it to the end of my Tuesday working day. So half my working week done. My eyes are still burning and I'm full of cold. Feeling tired but I definitely feel better. Hot and cold flushes have passed and no headaches or aches and pains. Really struggled to keep my eyes open though past lunchtime on both days. Thankfully have tomorrow to recuperate before the last two days of the week.
So many in the same situation at work so we kind of all muddled through together today. Lots of covering staff sickness and moving about to put cover where needed the most. I had obviously got out of exam invigilator job and glad of it as I've been coughing all day because of the stupid air con in most rooms drying my throat out. I wandered down the corridor at work and picked a classroom and it just so happened to have my lovely Thursday group who were all happy to see me. And would you believe luck would have it staff who were supposed to be with them are off sick. So I ended up staying all day which was nice. They're easy and all like me and that makes for an easy working relationship between us all unlike my usual Tuesday.
Tomorrow I really need to do some catching up on housework. I've done the bare minimum over the last week so washing is all caught up and day to day stuff is fine like washing up and general tidying. But need to mop floors as there is a sticky bit that is driving me mad now on the kitchen and it's been traipsed through dining area and into conservatory. No one else seems to have noticed it which drives me more mad. But anyway I would like to do it tomorrow but if I'm really not up for it I won't push myself.
Also would like to unpack the books finally from their boxes and organise the new bookshelves that DP has built and painted for me. He said to me he just cracked on with doing the DIY because he could see I wanted it done and that I just had no energy after work to do it myself (I'm usually the painter round here). So I thought that was very thoughtful of him and I want to make the living room look finished and pretty now...so will add that to my list for tomorrow. Unpack books and knick knacks and make it look finished. Even the ugly fire place looks okay now. I don't love it still and miss my nice old one but I don't hate it any more....that's about as much love as I can muster for it I'm afraid. I also would like to find something to hang above the fire opening but the space is about 40-50 cm high only and nothing I have will fit there ...so might need to just leave it empty and wait for the right piece to manifest (as usually happens if I leave a space blank but ready and waiting.)
A friend kindly dropped me and picked me up from work today so I invited her in for coffee but I'm feeling drained after having to talk 'shop' for an hour. I was hoping she'd want to talk about something else but I guess when you only know each other from work that is what the topic of convo is usually gonna be....
ExH is coming up again (!!) on Saturday with new gf. I recognise this stage. This is the stage where exH love bombs new gf and makes out he is father of the year. And an amazing all round person and how they can't live without him. Shortly before gaslighting and being a twit and turning into his usual selfish self and probably cheating on her once honeymoon period is over all while new gf usually bankrolls him....I would love to warn new GFS as I've seen him do it to the last three including the terminally ill one and myself. But I'd been seen as mental ex who probably never got over him eh. So I have to watch from the sidelines silently cheering new gf on when they usually eventually dump HIM before they end up with a broken heart and debt....even my DD has called it for what it is. If nothing else he's predictable so there's a positive 🤣. It annoys me though that he hasn't asked me he's gone through the kids. I could have had something planned!
Right kids are coming home so they will want feeding no doubt. Best get on with dinner... Oh and it was a NSD today and yesterday 😊...MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. Morning all 🤗
Feeling much more like myself today. Head doesn't feel foggy and the only thing lingering now is a horrible cough which is dry and tickly and it feels like something is on my chest but nothing is coming up. More irritating than anything else though.
This last week I've been getting up and making a green smoothie, a slice of toast (gf) and mushrooms, avocado and beetroot for breakfast. I've eaten copious amounts of oranges (was really craving them so gave into that craving) and trying to eat healthily at lunch and dinner with lots of fresh salads and light foods. It's helping lots and I'm feeling stronger and better and my cold seems to have cleared quicker than most people I'm speaking to (and more importantly for me without the antibiotics that everyone seems to be having to go and get- this was my main aim staying away from them and steroids for my asthma). I've upped my pre and probiotic and been taking vitamins every day. And drinking lots of water.
I wonder if I can keep it up after I'm fully better because it's making me feel lighter, and better all round. 😁
I didn't sleep well last night but my friend messaged me telling me it was a full moon and she hadn't slept either...so no suprise I always sleep badly on a full moon 🤣🤷🏻♀️...I need to get up, showered and dressed and go with DP as he's choosing some new glasses after his opticians appointment the other day. He's finally given in to me and got his teeth sorted out after starting dental treatment a year ago and abandoning it (fear I think was the main factor for this) and getting his eyes tested as he needs veri-focals which I'd been telling him he needed also since last year! He's also looking for a new look as he's bored of current glasses ....I bet we come out with the same as usual though he said this last time and returned to his usual look 🤣🤷🏻♀️😁
Then I'm going to get on with the day and do some jobs ....oh I have given into a kindle subscription. The last time I went to buy a book (the other day) it popped up that I could have an offer, £3.99 for kindle unlimited for two months. The book on kindle was £4.19 so seemed like a no brainer. So hopefully some free books now for a couple of months as this last week I think I've spent around £20 including the subscription on books (I'm on my sixth now in a week 🙈🤣).
Right okay, up I get....I will try to catch up on diaries later now I'm feeling bit better too 😁MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06.
