  • Rounded up my £6.57 to £7 and sent off as an OP only £6 to find to make my £100 goal. Easy peasey (I should hope) before the month is out. Mortgage balance sits at £117,676 before this month's interest is put on. It should still stay under £118k though after interest 🤞🏻

    MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. May 1st, £116, 123, June 1st, £115,536, New mortgage added for extension- £165,000 July 1st!
    Mortgage Overpayments - September-December, £152.46. J- £103.27, F- £115, M- £91.50, A- £100, M- £200, J- £200. J- £200.
    Total- £1162.23
Goal pay off 1% of current mortgage in 1 year. £1200. (96.83% there)

    EF- first goal £300
  • I was feeling a little better earlier so decided to go to the shops. It's taken what little energy I had and am regretting it now. I hate being cooped up though and fancied some fresh air....got some nice soft tissues and vegan ice cream though so there was a plus side to it. Was hoping I'd be feeling better for work tomorrow but I'm just utterly drained. I've read another book today. Doing well on that goal at least 😊👏🏻.
Picked up some pizzas in the shop for tomorrow as DP is out all day at meetings so just in case I'm not up for cooking in the evening the kids can put their own dinner on.
I've restarted Bridgerton from the beginning after paying for a n3tflix subscription.. I've made it to season two already since falling ill. Might put that back on in a mo actually. I'm wrapped up lovely and warm with a hot water bottle and blanket ☺️🫠 spends in shops were quite high about £50 as we picked up bits we needed as well as the extras. Still on target though for groceries spends for the month so far.

  • I'm off for the rest of the week now from work. I can't face it. Hoping I'm much better by Monday though as I can't have any more time off. I was up all night with crackling cough though and am absolutely exhausted today.
Sleep, fruit, warm drinks for me today whilst it's freezing cold outside.poor DP has walked to the train station this morning before the sun was even up. And DS has just left for school, thankfully he's learned it's okay to wear a coat when it's cold (anyone else's teen go through the phase of refusing a coat even in sub zero weather?!)

Right I'm fed, watered and just waiting for the last body to leave the house before I can go back to bed knowing everyone is where they should be ...

Hope you feel a lot better for the rest.
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

Have a restful rest of the week and get better

    Bridgertom reruns sound perfect !

I always know I am ill when I can’t drink coffee or don’t think to make it - once i fancy a cup again I know I am on the mend
    DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

  • Aw thank you all. I thought I was feeling better but then spent all day in bed once again.

I've messaged work saying even if I am in there is no way it would be fair to invigilate an exam whilst I am the way I am. I was reading/ scribing in a separate room on a one to one on Tues. I don't think it's fair on a student to be stuck in such a small place with me with a cold (coughing and blowing nose and voice is not great for reading for two hours) and just in case I'm too sick to go in I didn't want to leave them in the lurch last minute. They've found a replacement so I'm relieved about that. Not that I should be thinking about work 🙈.

DP popped out and got me some lemsip and it's the first time I've felt human all day. Possibly all week. Heads cleared, sinuses aren't hurting quite as much and cold shivers gone....for now (till it wears off). Haven't been this poorly in a few years now and hate being ill. I've felt proper sorry for myself having to lie around all week and had a right old cry 🤣 and yet some people do this laying around thing for fun. I've had enough of the TV, I've read four books and slept lots. DP has been a star and been working and looking after me and cooking and cleaning even the kids have pitched in tbh as well....

Makes such a difference having a kind person who has some sympathy for me whilst sick. I didn't realise I felt so guilty about stopping before when I was sick. Ex used to be so cruel with his words if I took a sick day on the sofa- to the point I didn't go to hospital one time until my eldest DS forced me to, and I had sepsis... Spent a week in quarantine after four hours emergency surgery. That says it all eh. Need to remember it's okay to rest when sick and I have most definitely made myself worse carrying on as long as I did. Lots of reflecting this week ❤️ and lots of gratitude.

I'm watching bedknobs and broomsticks anyone remember this one? Was my fave as a kid... sometimes I'm glad to have such a large random DVD collection 🤣❤️

One good thing about this is my budget has remained largely in tact aside from tissues, fruit and OTC drugs...!

Glad the medicine is starting to work and make you feel a little more human.  I agree you don't know how bad things are until Ex's have gone and you see how things really should be in life.  Glad DP and the children have been looking after you.
