  • Well I've been out, picked up the picture. I've popped to the CS and was tempted to buy a few bits but left them. The changing room wasn't open and I didn't want the bother of having to bring them back if they didn't fit.
Went to MrL and ended up spending £4.15 plus the ten quid voucher. Planned meals were not all in the fridge as kids help themselves to bits here and there which is fine, but meant I had to grab more food to make the meals up.

Going to sit with a hot drink and watch a bit of TV now. Feels an age since I've done that.

  • DS has got his posting sorted! *happy dance* he is moving after all! Amazing how they were adamant they couldn't budge on the move until a threat of resignation was put forth!
Poor DD is home and upset, the boy she had a crush on has called her fat today. She isn't fat! She is a size 8 FGS. A very curvy size 8 but she's tiny. I am enraged for her. This is the second boy to have called her this in a few weeks. :disappointed: I have told her she isn't but she's still upset.

I have found a three part drama (The Miniaturist) that I have put on and trying to do some surveys, however one started (£7 one) and I got half way through and it broke grrr so I am hoping to get a few surveys done to reach payout.

Doing a mini roast for dinner, new potatoes roasted (no prep just wash and season) and some steamed veg with some stuffing balls.

Think I have updated enough for today  I will catch up on some other diaries whilst I have the time.

  • Work day. I've just had my three months review meeting through. And the time is when I finish. I'm not being funny or rude I hope when I asked her to change it for work hours but I'm pretty much just over min. Wage here and they want me to give them more of my time for free 🤔 umm nope. So I will see what she comes back with.

All money was moved about last night into the right accounts.
I need to speak to DS school today, he told me last night he's not been chosen to go on the school trip for skiing. Ummm. They've had my £150 deposit. They haven't said anything either way. I sent a message via email regarding this and had no response either....so I sent another one off last night pretty upset and annoyed and will follow up with a call if I have time. I'll be disappointed for DS if he hasn't got a space. There are SO many children at his school that can afford to go on a skiing holiday with their family and DS said most of them are on it. 🙄😞

Anyway have lunches to do then need to walk in as DP has finally booked himself a dentist appointment and it's this morning! ((Expect incoming expenses and panic on how to pay for this))

Poo on DS school if that is true - I have an idea if he definetely doesn't have a place how about instead use the money for a fake snow peak ski trip, I know there is a ski slope in Milton Keynes not far from me, I am not sure about where you live, you could give him a few lessons maybe? Just an idea! or maybe there is a different event near you that he could do like plane jumping or something!! Enjoy your dayXX

KK's diary made me pop and see when my MSE anniversary is...well timed as it was yesterday! 14 years ago yesterday was my first big LBM 💡and I have since then paid off a DMP, saved for a first house, got back into debt with marriage failing, back out of debt, sold two houses and bought a third with a new DP soon to be DH and reached my goal of years ago to have £1k in the EF (however times change and I want three times that amount now  ) and slightly back into debt again with car, carpet loans and small CC debts. The circle of life huh.........perhaps next time I become DF I will stay out of debt and then finally pay down the mortgage.....
Wow a lot of life in 14 years.

Sorry re the summerhouse and the difficult students. If only they understood the damage they are doing to themselves and their future as well as to you all.

I am v angry on your DD  behalf, she sounds gorgeous. Guess she is learning early that boys are just that - boys, whose brains are nowhere near grown as yet (30 apparently) and that she is beautiful as she is and deserves only people in her life who love, respect and adore her. Its a good lesson to learn early, she will have to learn it anyway.

From google  (sorry male MFWs but this is science)
The brain of a man continues to develop until about age 30. This is because the prefrontal cortex, the part of the brain that controls decision-making, is one of the last parts to mature.
    and ...

As puberty starts, female brains jump to at least two years older than their physical age. Males, however, usually take until their late teen years or even early twenties to match their female peer's mental age.
    DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

This is so true. Have witnessed it for myself with my eldest son. He was a little (insert non allowed mse word) until he hit about 23. He is still way behind his OH who is the same age emotionally (they're 26 now)....good to know he might catch up :joy:

  • Had teenage girl dramas today, I don't care too much it's easy to deal with compared to aggressive angry students in my personal opinion.

Tomorrow is D Day for the main student of my misery. His mother has been called in for an emergency meeting, he's been on form all week  month. And so many complaints against him should mean he is out. But......I can almost bet my life he escapes eviction. I am adding some statements to support kicking out as my notes were not formally put on his main page so would have been looked over. I am not having that so going to write those in a minute.

I got lucky on some surveys yesterday and have around £15 pending. I will use that to top up the budget on what I have borrowed for food already when it pays out so Feb starts with pots at 100%.

DD dentist was cancelled. DP's initial appointment turned into a tooth extraction :bawling: which I don't think he was too happy about, but it needed to happen. He can move the treatment across from the old dentist thankfully and then we need to pay for it and his work benefit should pay for 80% I think it was.

Pasta for dinner tonight, DP mouth is sore and swollen, so soft food...

Right off to write my statement.........
