Aw how sad 🙁 When Mr SA was in his throws of the brain tumour diagnosis he kept asking if anyone had told his mum what had happened despite the fact she’d been gone over 10 years 😐

I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

It’s been a week of birthdays this week. It would have been my mil on 11th, my longest friends yesterday,  so we met for breakfast….its her first birthday since her Dh passed away before Christmas. It’s my brother’s birthday today. I’ve been to see him on the tram. It took forever as they were having points problems and we seemed to come to a standstill every mile or so. I was ready for a cuppa when I got there. He is 78 today, not in the best of health so I was pleased to see him and share some of his birthday cake. I was very pleased the temperature has dropped a few degrees, it did look as though it was going t pour down as it went quite and there were a few big drops but it blew over very quickly….the tram was very hot even with the drop in temperature.
I’m at a routine hospital appointment tomorrow and meeting a friend on Thursday. Non of which will be high spend days, which will make up for the spendy birthdays.
I'm very disappointed in my sweet peas this year. I haven’t had one flower….they’re usually in full bloom by now. My brother’s were beautiful. I am wondering if I inadvertently picked a later flower variety.

What a lovely lady at the travel lodge.
and a trip to Asd@ must have been just what the doctor order for you relative. I wonder if they remember where the cake and money came from 😁

I walked into town with Dh this morning whilst he picked his new glasses up. Typical 😂😂he’s bought prescription sun glasses as it’s raining. We had a cuppa and bacon butty in Spoons. Less than £6 for the two of us. It was heavy rain again so we got on the bus home. We had a lovely new bus interchange last year and we went today and they’ve changed all the stands around. We couldn’t find our bus stand. It runs every hour and is a very quick direct route. We just about found it in time. There are a few buses we can get but they’re not as direct as this one, they all used to be more or less together so if one didn't turn up you could just get the next one. Now they’ve in completely different corners of the station. The local fb page is not happy 🥴😂….got to admit neither am I. I do love my bus pass. I’m quite pleased that the local buses are doing a trial in August and we can use them before 9.30. It’s not often I do go out before 9.30 but sometimes for appointments etc it’ll make a big difference.

Had a few spendy days recently. I renewed my senior rail card, £35, had a trip to Costco and stocked up on a few things - £100 spent but it would have cost a lot more had I bought the same in local supermarkets. I also paid for a years membership to the local gym. I’m on a scheme run by the local NHS and it was £240 for the year which is a saving of nearly £200 from the old gym I went to….it might not be as nice and have as many facilities but I only really want to swim so I’ll happily take the saving and come home for a cuppa instead of going in the cafe 👍
i paid for the gym membership and had an early (for me) swim, came home and did some ironing then managed to stub my toe on the ironing board as I was putting things away. I heard it crack and now have a beautiful purple toe and foot. I’m pretty sure it’s broken. I haven’t been anywhere with it. I strapped it to another toe and once it’s in my shoe it’s ok. Not the best to walk on if I’m in bare feet. It’ll be fine in a day or so and I’ll get back swimming.
i was quite impressed with my GP surgery as I’ve been having a niggly problem for a good while now. I’ve had it investigated before but nobody came up with any answers. It was particularly irritating earlier in the week and was getting me down just as I was passing the chemist so I nipped in and asked for advice. She said there was something available but needed a prescription, so to contact the GP. I tried to phone for an appointment on Thursday afternoon…the surgery sent me a link….i filled in the questions and long story short I had an appointment this morning at 9.30. I didn’t class it as an emergency so was very surprised to get a face to face appointment on a Saturday. Upshot is I need to go for blood tests and GP can’t prescribe medication he suspects it needs without a consultant’s recommendation. Not sure if I’ll need to see a specialist or if the specialist gives the GP permission to prescribe on the evidence he sends…..but it all depends on bloods. 3 week wait for appointment with the nurse to take blood samples, then I need another GP appointment once the results are back. Don’t suppose I’ll get any answers for several months but I’ve set the ball rolling.
ive been out with a close friend this afternoon. We put the world to rights and had a glass or so to celebrate the lives of some recently deceased friends. The cocktails were 2 for 1 so I finally tried a Kir Royale…think I might be hooked 😂😂

Gosh milann you had a much better experience at the doctors than I did this week. I think I hurt the top of my shoulders carrying a heavy cage. It was very painful when I started to walk or did any lifting of stuff. I hardly ever go to the doctors, rang them up to ask how I go about making an appointment. They said the doctor would ring me, which he did about four hours later. Asked me to move my head to the left then the right. Said I probably had hurt it at the top of my spine and make an appointment with the physio. Two days later she said the same to me as the doctor had. Gave me a sheet with 3 exercises to do and that was that. So it seems my doctors can diagnose with out physically seeing you now. It is a bit worrying.x
