Your steam train trip day out sounded great fun!
I hope your GD doesn't miss her stop when she starts high school!😂. I remember chatting away to my friends on the bus coming back from comprehensive! As you say oblivious to everything else!
Enjoy your time with the family.

We had a lovely time with the family - lots of crafts, baking and games were enjoyed by all. Had  to leave them to their own devices one of the days as myself and Dh attended a funeral of a very old friend. The last day was a tram ride to an art gallery which had an immersive art attraction. It was very good and we finished the day by getting back on the tram to the big shopping mall where some back to school bits were bought by gks. The 3 days went far too quickly before they were dropped off back at the train station. I had to crack on and turn the house around - all the bedding was washed and dried as were the contents of the washing basket- Z beds folded and everywhere cleaned and Millie packed as we were heading out in Millie Motorhome early the following morning.
We had a lovely day in mid Wales at a steam and model train gala day. We went to a lovely campsite for a couple of nights. We’ve stayed there before and there are always Mr and Mrs pheasants roaming around. They’re very amusing 😂We walked along the canal side for about a mile where there is a lovely little town by a river. I began to feel really dizzy as we were walking and by the time we reached our destination I had a really sickly headache …all I had energy to do was sit on a bench watching some boats shoot the rapids. It was such a shame as there are some lovely eateries we’d planned to visit. I tried to phone a taxi home but the only 2 taxi companies listed weren’t answering. I wanted to head back by myself but Dh wasn’t having any of it. He walked back with me and we stopped and rested at every bench. I’d wanted him to get himself some nice food and explore on his own so as not to mess both our days up. I really think I’d got over tired as I’ve not been sleeping for quite some time and I’ve basically not listened to my body whilst I’ve been busy. Anyway I went to bed at about 4 o’clock and although I didn’t sleep properly, I did doze. I felt much better the following day but took it very easy as we moved to another campsite. I wasn’t sure what this campsite would be like…..a cheap and cheerful one. But we had a great time. It was walking distance to the beach and had every amenity we wished for and more…we didn’t use all the facilities but used everything we needed. It was excellent value for money. We drove into Llandudno one day as it was a rubbish forecast and we decided that a car ride and coffee would be our lot - however nobody told the sun it wasn’t supposed to be shining. It was a beautiful afternoon. We had a ride on the tram and visited a Bronze Age mine and had fish and chips 😀 It was a bit dodgy underfoot in the mine but I was glad I did it. Then we moved to our 3 rd campsite where we’d arranged to meet a friend  who was staying there. We had a lovely day out together. Then ds met us yesterday and we had another lovely day in the sunshine. So considering we expected wet and windy weather we did really well. We dodged some showers and it rained most nights but I never wore a coat all week 😁😁😁
I have listened to my body today and have rested. The washing was done during the Octopus cheap session but that’s all I’ve done….dh cooked salmon and new potatoes for tea.
Money was spent and enjoyed but my cc will be paid in full tomorrow. We made use of free coffee vouchers and ate in the van about half of ten time.
Not much planned for this week. Got to check some dates for appointments….and I want to sort the shed which I’ve been going to do since Spring and it’s been too hot or I’ve been out and about. I’m determined to get it sorted before winter.

I’d totally forgotten about man from  🐙 coming to install new meters for gas and electricity this morning. It’s a good job Dh had remembered. So Dh has been in his element playing with new gadget that talks between his phone and said meter. Boys and their toys 😂😂
The van has been emptied but I want to clean the carpet before our next trip away. I’ll do the living room carpet at the same time…not this week. Ironing has also been done and everything is put away. other than that I’ve chilled.
I have bought a pair of flat sketchers that are more like a shoe than a trainer in a hope they’ll be ok to wear with a dress at a wedding next month. I don’t really want to go in trousers and I still can’t get my head around not wearing a tiny heel with a dress….but I just can’t walk without the inserts I have and definitely not with any heel….and certainly not for a full day at a wedding. If they look ok I’ll be happy but if not trousers it will have to be. I don’t usually buy footwear on line but I’ve been on the lookout for about 6 months and haven’t seen anything like these.
Tea has been frozen leftovers from the freezer and very tasty it was too 😁
So only spends today were my sketchers….and I had a £5 off voucher.

I actually managed to get swimming yesterday morning. The disadvantage of this new pool/gym is it’s attached to a school so it’s not as flexible as the last gym I went to as it’s used for school swimming lessons. I took it easy and only did 10 lengths…getting out of the pool is a challenge as it’s a ladder rather than steps. I’m hoping to get there again tomorrow….and build it up slowly again. I really do need to keep moving, and it gets me up and out instead of wasting my mornings.
I’ve painted the fences and sheds most year with the exception of one end which has had big boxes of Dh railway stones in and I’ve not been able to move them. It’s been years since that end has been touched and it looked awful. Anyway Dh  has moved said boxes out and been sorting through them 😀 I’ve given the end panel 3 coats of slobber so it looks much better now. It’s a narrow bike shed so didn’t take long. I think the plan is to rearrange things as they go back in, including my mini greenhouse. It’s beyond me why he keeps rocks in boxes…..I’d have them out in the garden….but they’re too heavy for me to move….I’ll see if I can make him see sense 😂😂😂 and let using them be his idea 😂😂😁
No spends and no plans to spend any.

I was feeling energetic this morning so headed to the gym and did 1/2 hour. Nothing drastic as I want to build back up slowly. Lo and behold when I’d got home I’d had an email saying I’d been given a place at aqua aerobics this evening….id been on the waiting list. I wouldn’t have bothered with the gym if I’d realised. I’ll be fit for nothing tomorrow 😂😂 So 200 calories burned at the gym 👍 and an aqua class 😁
I painted the end of the shed yesterdy and thought I’d push my luck and do the fronts before the forecast rain appeared…..id just finished when the heavens opened. Luckily it didn’t wash off as it lashed down. I want to give it another coat before winter sets in. Dh’s stones have gone back in boxes 🫣😂😂😂…..but he has agreed to put them out in the garden as he upgrades the garden….watch this space 😂😂 A few trips have been made to the tip so everything is much neater.
I did spend £25 this morning on a haircut. I like it very short but the hairdresser is always reluctant and I really have to push her into doing it as short as I like it. It’s a neighbour and friend who does it otherwise I’d change hairdressers. Plus it’s very convenient as she lives facing. It grows so quickly I’d be having it done every other week if I went along with the length she like to do it.
I decided I’m not going back to SW…..I’m away too often and don’t like paying for the weeks I’m away. I’m still the same weight as I was when i rejoined in January. On a plus I haven’t put any on….but I think I’d be better off swimming or going to the gym since I’ve paid for membership through a gp referral….£200 a year  cheaper than my last place 😀 I will loose this 1 1/2 stone if it blooming well sees me off 😂😂😂😂😂

I’m dreading buying footwear for my DS’s wedding next month. Since I broke my ankle I can’t wear heels - for some bizarre reason it makes me feel sick! I struggle to find anything comfortable other than trainers but obviously need something smart.

Is there an option to be an online SW member rather than face to face so you could join from anywhere? I’ve always done WW and since Covid it’s mostly moved to virtual meetings. Although I’m at goal I find the online support very motivating.

SA yes, you can join on line,it’s the same price as going to a group and something MSE in me objects to it 😂😂 No idea why as it might be very good. I find the SW thread on here really good so I’m going to stick with that for now 👍
I’ve had a busy couple of days. Someone from work moved to Cornwall several years ago and she was up here and invited the folk she used to work with to meet her for a drink. There were a few from work but not many. I think she was disappointed…..I’m so pleased I’ve finished as it sounds horrendous.Yesterday Ds came around and we went into town, had dinner in an old pub that has been shut for years and has recently reopened. They’ve done a very sympathetic job on the place - updating it whilst keeping its old character. From there we went to a birthday party. We had a lovely night .
I’m shattered now. We’ve been shopping as everything was running out…. I didn’t buy much meat  as I want to use the freezer contents so mainly fresh things, bread, fruit, veg a few stock cupboard ingredients and I bought a new frying pan reduced from £22 to £11. It came to over £80. I dread to think what it would have cost if I’ve had filled the freezer and bought cleaning stuff 😳
I’m hoping to go for a swim in the morning if I’m up in time and then it’s tidying and cleaning until I have a telephone appointment with doctor at 3pm. And we need to see SIL afterwards as we haven’t been for a while…..it’s not somewhere I look forward to but that’s life I suppose….I suspect we’ll end up taking her out to eat.
