The swim didn’t happen. I’d been awake from about 4 and just lay chilling having a lovely sort of dream even though I was half awake 😂
I made soup for dinner and it was delicious…..I’ve not made soup for ages.
I’ve been waiting for some sketchers shoes that I’d been expecting on Friday and were pushed back to today. Delivery expected by the end of the day 😡😡😡 I hate it when this happens - why can’t they give a time slot. I won’t be buying anything from sketchers on line again. and I’m not impressed with ups.
I did have to stay in for a telephone consultation at 3 pm but wanted to visit SIL afterwards.
The consultant did phone about 5 past 3 and apologised for being late. Anyway I’m on the list for another steroid injection. I also told him my gp would probably be referring me for my other hip. He doesn’t accept any NHS patients (it’s a private hospital) but has said to tell the GP to address the letter directly to him and he’ll see me. I pleased about this as he is lovely and you actually see him, not one of his team every time. I know when the time comes for the surgery he says I need I’ll have to go to a more specialised hospital….but I’m putting that off asap.
MSE wise….i made the most of the free electricity by putting a load in the dryer and another load in the washer. Dh plugged his ev car in as that’s the deal we have.
    No cash spent.
ive been having a bit of a dilemma as to whether to put myself forward to sing in the backing group for our singing leader. 😂😂 I’m no singer but enjoy it. Our leader is supporting a big group from the 80s at a theatre near me and he will hopefully be taking 50 singers to back him from his groups. There’s no guarantee that I’ll be picked…..it depends how many put themselves forward. Anyway I finally decided to go for it…..it’ll be a new experience to see how things work at a theatre…..I might even get to meet the group that have had had many hits. Our leader will be singing his songs that have been released and are doing ok. It’s quite exciting 😂😂

That sounds very exciting - go for it 😃 Many years ago I volunteered to help with the stage makeup at a theatre production. I was there 3 days and loved all the behind the scenes stuff.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

So after waiting all day for the shoe delivery it took less than 5 minutes to realise they’d have to go straight back. There’s no way they’ll stay on my feet 🥴 they don’t come high enough up my foot. The colour isn’t that nice either. So next job is to figure out how I actually send them back……now I know why I prefer to go to a shop and try things on 😒
We will nip to see SIL but won’t take her out for something to eat.   We’ve been trying to phone her but there’s no answer so we will go and check she is ok.

Ooooh - go for it on the singing milann!  Sounds exciting and interesting!
I hear you on the shoe front!  Trainers vary so much. I tried on some Adidas Sambas a while ago. I knew they were going to give me gyp on trying so I sent them back. I bought their Speziales instead on recommendation and these fit fine!  Funny because the two styles look so alike!  🤷‍♀️I bought some Pumas too - admittedly these were Men's as I have a wide foot but they go up quite high on the foot so you may want to give these a try?

The shoes are to go with a dress and crocheted cardigan for a wedding outfit next month.  It’s not a fancy affair so it’s more pump style trainer than a trainer trainer iykwim. And it’s got to have a removable insole so that I can put my own podiatry insoles in….not much of an ask then 😂
I’ve been out with a couple of friends today to a place I’d never heard of. There was a small Roman museum and there would have been a lovely walk along the river had it not been chucking down with rain and the river was actually quite high and fast flowing……so we found a coffee shop for lunch instead.
We visited a charity shop and I bought 4 lovely Chrystal wine glasses for £3 😀 They’ll sit nicely in my cabinet near the decanter that was bought for a wedding present 47 years ago…..I’ve never used it but it look nice, especially when it’s just been washed and it reflects the light. I’ve never had fancy wine glasses that match.
£15 spent today but lots of fun has been had 👍

It was awful weather yesterday morning and then the sunshine came out. Dh decided he was bored and needed to do something so we went on a tram ride. What I hadn’t realised was my train/tram £10 supplement had run out last week 😳 so I renewed it pronto.Luckily nobody checked it 😳😳
We ended up in the big city and had a little look around but I was tired and not in the mood for a lot of walking. We got back on the tram and went to an outlet village…..walked along the big canal for a short time- that was much nicer than a March along the shopping streets of the big city 😀 We went in a shoe shop and I bought some white trainers for the wedding…..it still doesn’t feel right but it is what it is. Dh offered to pay for them for my birthday but I said no. I was already getting those and preferred something I wouldn’t already be getting 😂😂😂how ungrateful does that sound 😳 We went in the M&S outlet and he bought me a lovely top and trousers…..he was happy with the purchases- as was I. It’s not my birthday for a couple of weeks so I’ll pretend I’ve not seen them😂😂 it is a plain top but fits well so I might get a fine trim to go around the neck just to jazz it up a bit. He did offer to get a pair of trousers in a different colour too but they didn’t have my size.
We got the tram and train home - I had a clear conscience as I’d renewed my pass 😜. I called in to see a friend who has just come home from holiday. We walked from the train station to her house which I used to do regularly. I’ve been so sore and stiff today so have done very little. I am booked on aqua later and am still going as I need to keep moving, and I’m hoping the water will help.
A big spend day yesterday with trainers and bus pass renewals but the pass pays for itself over and over.
