Check out Amazon Resale for a new laptop.  I got a Dell a few years ago for £99!  They'll be more than that now of course but think you can probably get one for less than about £150 - certainly worth a look @milann.
  • i'd buy the laptop, if i could and avoid the use of mobile devices

    I hadn’t thought of a resale….thanks. I’ll check it out Joedenise.
I know INOD, I’m very reluctant to use a mobile device for my banking - especially after watching TV this morning. They were interviewing folk you’d had phones snatched and their whole life had been snatched in a second 😳 I don’t ever use my I pad other than at home though.
Well Dh was up at 4.30 this morning ready for a 5 am pick up. I was awake so he brought me a cuppa in bed...then promptly knocked off my bedside table 🥴 I was up like a shot and got towels from the bathroom to mop it up. The majority of it went over the pillows I use in bed for sitting up but put by the side of me on the floor whilst I sleep. The towels were washed and dried in the cheap overnight electricity all before 6.30 am 😂👍. I did go back to bed but never nodded off again. I chilled for a good while then had a relaxing bath and conditioned my hair. The bedding has also been washed and is nearly dry…..it feels like dinner time already 😂😂😂 I’m usually only thinking about breakfast at this time of day.
I’ll ring my brother to see if he’s up for a visitor in a while and head into town, have a mooch around and continue my journey to his house or if he’s not up to it will try again tomorrow. It’s hard to plan in advance as his health fluctuates from day to day and the better days are much less often. It’ll be strange at the family wedding at weekend as I’ll be the only one from my generation there…..there are just the 2 of us now and he’s not up to it. It’s strange watching the generations change….i was always the youngest by a long way and now I’m up there as one of the eldest 🤭😯😂 I’m looking forward to it.
Right I’m going to make my bed and have a quick tidy of the bedroom before I head off.

Ive just used my iPad to log into my bank. It worked exactly the same as my computer so I’m happy with that. There’s no way I’m having it on my phone though….ds and Dh think I’m being over cautious but I’m happy as I am 😂👍

Will do INOD….I’ve had Dh on the case 👍
Dh has been to Scotland and back. Tbh I was so busy I hardly realised he was gone 😚 I went into the big city near me on the train. I visited my brother then got on the tram to a big shopping mall. I left home at 9.30 in the morning and it was nearly 10 at night when I arrived home. Thursday i went to get my nails done….just a French manicure. I always said I wouldn’t have gel nails again but wanted a bit of a lift for the wedding at weekend. I’m a tad cross with myself as my dress for the wedding is a tad too snug for my liking. I’d should have paid more attention to the SW plan 😞 it is what it is 🥴 I walked to get my nails done, as I’d mistimed the buses…it’s a 10 minute car ride but 2 buses or an hours walk. So I walked both ways and in retrospect I should have got a taxi as it was too much and I’ve known about it since. I went back into the big city to see Fiddler on the Roof….it was a fantastic show, but I was so tired and ached everywhere but I thoroughly enjoyed myself. By the time I arrived home Dh had just arrived back.
It’s been a couple of very spendy days here. I treated myself to my nails, eye brows and some face creams. I also bought a few items of clothing and my lunch out. I haven’t spent as much for a while but if I pull back for the rest of the month all will be fine. It felt like a real treat.
I’m going to a wedding tomorrow and the dress I had earmarked is a summer dress….the weather has taken a sudden turn and I’m not convinced I’ll be warm enough as it’s on the other side of the Pennines to me and it’s usually a few degree’s colder there. I have a plan b of a warmer dress….im not sure if it still fits though 🤬 I’m going to have a trying on session later. It might be a trip to the big shopping mall and more cash spent 😯 nothing like leaving things until last minute we’re leaving at 8 in the morning. Right that said I’m off to scour my wardrobe for something I look half decent in as I really don’t want to buy anything else.

The dress did fit ok. It wasn’t what I wanted to wear but it did the job. I had a lovely time at the wedding. We allowed a lot of time to get across the Pennines as we often get stuck in traffic on that motorway…but we sailed through. We were there over an hour early so we went for breakfast at the spoons next door to the civic hall where the ceremony took place. It was lovely catching up with a lot of the family. We’re quite a big family but have lost touch a bit as we’re  scattered across the country. We weren’t all there but it was nice to see the ones who were and we just pick up as if it were yesterday.
I need to do some tidying today and I want to wrap the birthday presents I’m taking when I go to see Dd at weekend. It’s gdds birthdays in November and December so I’ll take them with me to save postage.
I’m making use of my gym membership later and going to aqua aerobics.
I went to use my free coffee vouchers in JL on Friday but the Wi-Fi reception was awful. They just said enjoy the coffee…and didn’t zap my voucher 😀 so I can use them again. There’s a River of Light at a place about an hour away so if we get a nice day this week will go to JL for another drink and see the lights too 😀 bonus 👏

We went to see The River of Light at a town about an hour away. It was nice but I’m not convinced it was as good as previous years….or maybe we’re just used to them and expecting more. We used our coffee vouchers in JL - the ones that hadn’t been zapped on our previous visit.
ive been to the dentist today…not a cheap experience 😳£327 later. I have a denture which hasn’t been comfortable since they were repaired a while back. I end up taking it out after a few hours, usually when I’m at home. Anyway whilst we were on the way home from the wedding on Saturday. I took it out as I’d worn it all day and put it in my pocket 👍 When I came to retrieve it on Sunday morning it was  nowhere to be seen. I’ve scoured the car, my handbag, bedside and under the bed. No sign of it anywhere…… this isn’t the first time this has happened. I have no idea where it is 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️I can only hope I’ve given somebody a good laugh if they’ve found it😂 It’s not an expense I wanted but if its more comfortable will be worth it.
I made use of my gym membership and went to aqua again this morning.
I want to make a cake tomorrow to take to dds on Saturday…..we’re staying until Monday. I’m looking forward to it.Ds is picking us up about 6 am and we’ll be there in time for lunch if the traffic is kind.
