My friend recently had a mastectomy and was a day case as well. Home by 7.30. She said she preferred it as she could rest better. If there had been any concerns by the hospital, she would have had to remain in there.:j Debtfree and and staying that way.:j3-6 month emergency fund, No.61 £140.000

amber03 it’s incredible….itd have been about 10 days in hospital at one time, but I suppose with surgical advances and risk of infections in hospital it is better to be back home where it’s easier to rest. Hope your friend is doing ok….im going to see my friend tomorrow….thought I’d give her a few days r&r before I go round.
i don’t know where time has gone again. I’ve been on a couple of singing dos, I went to watch Dh and his ukulele bang play in the Cafhedral of the big city nearby yesterday. It was a charity performance for a local charity that supports visually impaired people I went with a friend and we headed into town earlier for food and a little festive tipple 😜beforehand. It’s a pity it rained so much as we were going to have a mooch around town. This morning my singing group performed at an old people’s home. The majority of them enjoyed and sang along to the Christmas songs….although one gentleman shouted ‘I thought I was having my hair cut’ We chatted to some of the audience on our way out. Somebody asked one lady if she enjoyed it…..she thought for a while and said ‘no…..not really’ nothing like being honest 😂😂😂😂
I went to see my brother who was a lot better than last time I saw him. On our way home we pass Costco, so we popped in for a few bits. £112 later 😯 We’d parked in the underground carpark. It’s a busy junction right near a motorway. It took 1 hour 15 minutes to get out of the car park….we weren’t impressed and I’ve tried to get hold of the company via email but apparently they don’t have an email service. I will phone head office tomorrow. I know they can’t do much about the junction outside but they could make the actual carpark better….it was a total free for all. Crazy thing is - the shop wasn’t half as busy as usual 🤷🏻♀️January spends - £587.582 -

Maybe get in touch with Costco and ask them to complain, which may carry more weight than an individual could? What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0

Satchmo it was Costcos own carpark. I have complained to the store via a telephone call……it didn’t seem to get me anywhere.
Well that’s it….Im virtually ready, everything is bought wrapped and loaded in ds car ready for a 6am start in the morning for our trip to see Dd and her family. I’m hoping the traffic gods are kind to us as ds has a house viewing down there at 1.30. It takes us 6 hours on a good run.I’ve stocked up on some cheap veg and meat but I didn’t have much room in my freezer so was gutted I couldn’t get more.
im afraid I’ve been a Scrooge this year and only posted a couple of cards. The price of postage has become ridiculous.Have a lovely Christmas everyone and I’ll catch up on diaries when I get chance 🎅🏼🎄👍January spends - £587.583 -

Hello……long time no posts 🫣
Life has been busy and I’ve been trying hard to cut back on screen time, as after visiting the family over Christmas realised how long I spend scrolling. Dd is working hard trying to limit time the gks spend on line and it hit a chord with me.
I hope you’ve all had a lovely Christmas and that 2026 is kind to my MSE friends and family.
Money has been spent but I haven’t gone too mad. I’m just about to pay my cc in full. I’d acquired some savings on an @sd@ savings card towards Christmas expenses and still have 3/4 of it left so that’ll do nicely for the next couple of months food shopping 👍😀
Im going on a girls trip away tomorrow until Wednesday and really looking forward to it. It was booked this time last year at a W@rner place about an hour away from home. £126 for a single room for 2 nights with breakfast and evening meal included plus entertainment. I think that’s a pretty good deal. There are 8 or 9 of us going. The lady who organised chose this particular site as we can get the train if the weather turns nasty…..which is just what we’re doing…we’d had designated drivers ready to ferry those of who don’t like driving but the weather forecast looked dire so plan B to take the train kicked in. As it happens the weather hasn’t been as bad as expected so far. We were forecast snow at 3 pm which should have continued all night. It snowed about 12 midday for about half an hour…..just enough to make it lethal if it freezes overnight. We went to see ds this afternoon and half a mile up the road where we join the motorway at a big roundabout- one half of the roundabout was white then it trailed off and the motorway at the opposite side was completely clear of snow 🤷🏻♀️
Hope the weather is kind to you all….ive been thinking of Beanie every time I see snow ❄️ in Bonnie Scotland…..stay safe.
Right I’m off to catch up with some diaries……but it might take some time. I think I have over 200 pages of Sun Addicts 😯😁
I’ll be back after my mini break…..where I need to get back money saving and fat busting 👍👍👍January spends - £587.586 -
