We’ve had several more trips to relative. We had a phone call from the next of kin who is away on holiday- we filled them in with the necessary info and made it clear that we think relative needs some specialist help. Apparently there is an appointment for when they arrive home from holiday. We’re going over again later. We’re not far away but it can be an hours journey as the traffic is always at a standstill no matter what time of day we go.I think me taking myself off at weekend worked well as Dh and myself have been fine since. It was out wedding anniversary yesterday so we had a lovely day out at a town about an hour away. We had a nice lunch and watched the world go by as we walked along the riverside. I was very tired though as I was out all day on Monday with friends. 8 of us went for a train ride to a town famous for its Roman Town Walls. We had a trip on a boat and nice meal out. Monday was an expensive day….but it was paid for over several weeks and came out of my entertainment budget.
Today I’ve had a tidy up and chilled whilst Dh went out playing bowls. I could quite happily curl up and go to sleep instead of going over to see relative. I’ll be pleased when her family are home and we can go back to our usual visiting routine.January spends - £587.582 -

I went to SW this morning and hopefully the fact that I’ve put 2 1/2lb on and am now the heaviest I’ve ever been will give me the kick up the backside I need. I know I can’t go on as I am…my good hip is now as bad as my bad one. I’ve been putting off having a replacement but I think the time is getting closer. I know the consultant has said he’ll transfer me to the hospital where I had my arm surgery as they are a more specialist hospital to deal with a bone condition I have and I suppose that could take months. I’ll carry on with the injections until then.We visited relative yesterday…she was cheerful enough this time but her mind is totally in the past. Dh finds it very hard. We took her out for a meal as I’m not convinced she’s remembering to eat and took her shopping. Her Dd is home todayRight enough doom and gloom. I’ve had a very relaxing afternoon crocheting and watching a bit of tv. We’ve been watching 1883….about the pioneers in America…a bit slow in parts but we’ve enjoyed it…..some bits are very graphic.
Tomorrow will be singing group and we want to do a bit in the garden. It’s been very neglected since Spring…..it’s looked after itself but now needs some TLC.
I’ve pulled the spending reigns back in and the only cash spent has been £4.50 on loo rolls that will last a while.January spends - £587.582
