Good idea to take yourself out of it for a bit. Hope you get a good nights sleep tonight.

We’ve had several more trips to relative. We had a phone call from the next of kin who is away on holiday- we filled them in with the necessary info and made it clear that we think relative needs some specialist help. Apparently there is an appointment for when they arrive home from holiday. We’re going over again later. We’re not far away but it can be an hours journey as the traffic is always at a standstill no matter what time of day we go.
I think me taking myself off at weekend worked well as Dh and myself have been fine since. It was out wedding anniversary yesterday so we had a lovely day out at a town about an hour away. We had a nice lunch and watched the world go by as we walked along the riverside. I was very tired though as I was out all day on Monday with friends. 8 of us went for a train ride to a town famous for its Roman Town Walls. We had a trip on a boat and nice meal out. Monday was an expensive day….but it was paid for over several weeks and came out of my entertainment budget.
Today I’ve had a tidy up and chilled whilst Dh went out playing bowls. I could quite happily curl up and go to sleep instead of going over to see relative. I’ll be pleased when her family are home and we can go back to our usual visiting routine.

It's a difficult situation with relative.
    Belated happy anniversary  :)

I went to SW this morning and hopefully the fact that I’ve put 2 1/2lb on and am now the heaviest I’ve ever been will give me the kick up the backside I need. I know I can’t go on as I am…my good hip is now as bad as my bad one. I’ve been putting off having a replacement but I think the time is getting closer. I know the consultant has said he’ll transfer me to the hospital where I had my arm surgery as they are a more specialist hospital to deal with a bone condition I have and I suppose that could take months. I’ll carry on with the injections until then.
We visited relative yesterday…she was cheerful enough this time but her mind is totally in the past. Dh finds it very hard. We took her out for a meal as I’m not convinced she’s remembering to eat and took her shopping. Her Dd is home today
Right enough doom and gloom. I’ve had a very relaxing afternoon crocheting and watching a bit of tv. We’ve been watching 1883….about the pioneers in America…a bit slow in parts but we’ve enjoyed it…..some bits are very graphic.
Tomorrow will be singing  group and we want to do a bit in the garden. It’s been very neglected since Spring…..it’s looked after itself but now needs some TLC.
I’ve  pulled the spending reigns back in and the only cash spent has been £4.50 on loo rolls that will last a while.

Went out with ds and Dh yesterday. A lovely drive over the hills to the next county. Ds treated us to dinner out a Lebanese sharing platter and Dh bought the drinks. Just before we came home I treated us all to hot chocolate from a fancy chocolate shop. Not cheap and most  definitely an occasional treat. I only like 80% hot chocolate as the others are all far too sweet for me. It was delicious. I do like old fashioned cocoa I make myself but I’ve never liked drinking chocolate as such.
I'm still within my spending budget by a good margin so am quite happy.
Millie Motorhome is going for a service tomorrow so whilst Dh is out I want to have a good tidy up. It feels like ages since I’ve had one of those. Everything has been clean and tidy but as my mum would say ‘it’s needs a good bottoming’
We got in touch with some folk to come and look at the damp in the hall. We contacted 6 but only 1 has come back to us. He’s away until September so we’ll just have to wait and contact some others for comparison. Got a feeling it’s not going to be an easy job 😳

Millie Motorhome went in for a service this morning. So it’s been sorted in the engine and living quarters over the past few weeks. It’s ready for the next trip out which will be the beginning of September.
Today is a tidy up day. Bedding is in the washer and the rest of the washing washed, dried and waiting to be ironed.
I’ve planned some of my meals this week, which is unheard of. I’m the heaviest I’ve ever been and really struggling with my hips. My good one is now worse than my bad one and I’m sure the extra pounds aren’t helping. I’d made a big pot of veg sauce with the intention of eating it at lunchtimes. I’ve just gone in the fridge to get some and Dh has frozen it…..in double portions too 🥴🥴🥴🥴 I know he is helping but I wish he’d tell me. I’d heated up some cous cous to go with it so have ended up with plain cous cous with a chopped up tomato (anll my other veg went into the veg sauce ) and falafel instead. Getting used to sharing the kitchen now he’s not working is taking some getting used to 😂😂😂 I was really looking forward to it and determined to stay on plan. At least I didn’t give in and have a big butty so even though it isn’t what I’d planned, all is not lost 👍😂
Next door have had some workmen in doing a bit of work in the garden and they’ve been lovely, really friendly. I off loaded a big, heavy spade/shovel that was left by a workman when we had the work done 5 years ago. We’d phoned him and he said he would pick it up….we’re still waiting so it’s made a bit more room in my shed 👍😀
Credit card has been paid in full and no spends planned. I needed to cut back after my spendy week last week.

  • you now have me drooling at the thought of a chip butty.  isn't it odd how the mention of the vegetable sauce didn't have the same effect?

Not sure where time has gone. I’ve been busy doing nothing really.
We did go away earlier this week in Millie Motorhome. I’d bought Dh a steam train ride for his birthday back in November and decided we’d use it before the end of the school holidays whilst they were scheduling a full steam train timetable. We drove to a place about 3 hours away and stayed in the carpark of an old coaching house pub.it was free as long as we ate in the pub…which we did and it was lovely and it was reasonably priced too. We had a lovely day and hopped on and off the train and had some lovely little walks. We stopped half way home at a place by a river which the bikers love as there are winding country roads either side. It’s famous for the fish and chips and it would have been rude not to have had a portion for £7.50. It was called a small portion but it was plenty big enough 😀
I went to my singing group this morning and for a cuppa afterwards with some of the singers. Then Dh picked me up and we did a bit of shopping. I did buy washing powder and tea bags but no meat or ‘proper’ food as such and it was £70 🥴😳 I wanted some low fat mince and it was £9.50 so that stayed on the shelf.
Tomorrow ds is picking us up and the plan is to go to a place we haven’t been to before. We’ll have a look around the town and then to a NT place, on our way home ds has set his sights on a fancy burger place. I’ll enjoy my burger and adjust my eating days around it. I won’t be going to SW for a couple of weeks as Dd and gks will be here next week and then we’re going away for a week. I’m undecided whether or not to head back again or do it myself. I’m not doing particularly well with the weight loss but I suspect I could be much worse without it. My downfall is eating out too much. I am motivated atm though as I’m having a lot of problems with my hips…..my good one is now as bad if not worse than my bad one.
I’ve got a GP appointment in a couple of weeks to discuss some blood tests I’ve recently had and I’ve asked to be referred to the consultant that deals with my bad hip in a view for an injection in the new bad hip 🥴
Dd and gks are coming next week - unfortunately I’ll have to leave them to their own devices one of the days as I’m at a funeral of an old friend one of the days. We should still have time for lots of fun though. I can’t believe the eldest starts secondary school when she goes home. It’ll be a shock to her system though as she’ll have to get the train. I’ve got visions of her chatting away with her friends and forgetting to get off at her stop and ending up in London 😂😂😂😂 She’s a bright girl but when she’s with her friends she oblivious to the world around her 😂😂 She’ll be fine as there will be a lot of kids doing the same journey. I do think it’s hard now as it’s a big step as kids don’t ‘play out’ and get the experiences as I did as a child…..times ah e changed.
