So much for my relaxed day. As I was heading up to bed last night I went to put my iPad on the side….it slipped out of my hand and fell onto my false tooth. Broke the blooming denture plate into 3 pieces…..so I’m off to drop them off at the dentist. Hopefully they’ll be repairable 🤞 I could do without a big dental bill atm as I’ve had a spendy time recently. I’m out tomorrow and Friday too so it’ll be gummy smiles all round 😳🥴

I was at the hospital this morning for an infusion. There must be better ways to get a free cuppa and biscuits 😂😂 it all went ok even though the nurse  couldn’t get the cannula in my arm and it had to go in my hand which I’m not overly keen on. But I’m done now….i think the next stage is scans to see if they’ve made any difference but not 100% sure when this is supposed to happen….more or less straight away or whether it’s over a period of time.
I arrived home about 1 pm and had a lazy afternoon…..crochet and Corrie 😁 and several cuppas as I had to drink extra over the day.
Im quite pleased with the crochet bag I’ve made…..I want to line it next. Just starting another one, as  I want to use the yarn from the cardigan I’ve just undone and then I’ll start on some blankets for the gks new bedrooms. I treated myself to a kit whilst we were away last month and I’ve been collecting various shade of greeen to make my own kit for the 2nd blanket for eldest gdd.
Not sure what I’m letting myself in for tomorrow as I’m off to see an Elvis impersonator and lunch with some people from the singing group. I’ve already paid for it so I’ll just need a bus ticket. £5 for the day. Roll on September when I get my bus pass.

I often end up with a cannula in my hand too, @milann, & it does always seem quite a lot more uncomfortable. Last summer when I was sent for a virtual colonoscopy CT scan, the radiographer tried several times to get one in my arms, but they were having none of it & into my blimming hand it went! I have never been one to give up my veins willingly. Years ago, I mentioned to a practice nurse that I was seriously thinking of becoming a blood donor. She was trying to get a blood sample out of my arm at the time & said she didn't think they'd thank me for it!

I’ve just posted and haven’t a clue where it is….so apologies if I’ve rambled on somebody’s diary 🥴☺️
I did have a lovely time today at the Elvis impersonator. I suspect The King of Rock ‘n’  Roll would be rolling his eyes at some of the off notes and dodgy moves but we had a great laugh and sing-song. The 3 course meal was tasty so not a bad day for £20 all I had to pay for today was a  day bus ticket for £5 as every thing else was paid in advance. We’ve booked a Motown experience in the same place in September. There must have been over 100 people in the conservatory of the pub. It was good to see somewhere taking initiative to get bums on seats. As other than our room there must have been a dozen people in the eat of the big pub and garden.
I collected my denture which was repaired at no cost so I have a happy smile again instead of a gappy smile. I did feel conscious today when I was out as I couldn’t pick them up until late this afternoon.

Not sure where time has gone.
Weekend went in a blur. I’d taken chicken out of the freezer to eat for tea and within an hour of taking it out we decided to head out to a train shop in the next county that was having a bit of an open day. We decided to go for the ‘ride in the countryside’ even if the event wasn’t up to much. So the partly defrosted chicken went back in the fridge and cooked on Monday. We had a lovely ride deeper into the county than we usually go - a place we’d never visited before. It was a small event but Dh enjoyed it. The high street looked as if it had been a bustling place in its day but is sadly very lack lustre now. It’s so sad to see so many places in decline. We stopped at a place we often visit to... Matlock Bath…..we had a walk by the river and fish and chips……which were delicious and bargainous too. £7 for a small portion of fish, chips and sauce or peas eaten in the cafe. I love it there - always busy especially with motorbikes. Then Sunday was spent at ds house. Monday was generally pottering around the house and a quick dash to aqua aerobics- I haven’t been for a while and there’s no point having membership if I’m not going to use it.
I was gifted some rhubarb- 5lb once it was all trimmed, by a friend who didn’t have time to make anything with it, so yesterday I was busy making jam, crumbles and a rhubarb topped ginger cake. I’ll share it all with the friend who passed it to me 👍
I also went to the crematorium for the service of a young girl from where I worked. She has been battling a brain tumour since she was 6 and lost her battle aged 13 and a couple of weeks. She got her wish to be a teenager and was one of the bravest people I’ve come across. It was so moving….seeing her friends - many ‘tough teenage boys’ battling with their emotions was so sad. I wanted to go and tell them not to put a brave face on what they were feeling. I was horrified though when they had to stop the service part way through and look for the music they were supposed to be playing at a crucial part. They’d played the wrong song and the parents had to tell them. 😱😱 I’ve never seen anything like it. Note to myself…..don’t use said funeral director 😱😱 I know they’re only human and mistakes happen but it’s just not on.
I went to SW this morning and stayed the same which is a mini miracle considering the amount of times I’ve eaten out this week.
I’m off to do some tidying upstairs now before heading to aqua again. Yesterday highlighted the need to keep active as it was standing room only at the crem…..there must have been 100 people standing outside and the chapel was full. I really struggled standing - even though I had something to lean on.
Right procrastinating on here isn’t getting things done.
We’re heading out in Millie Motorhome on Friday. Dh has the day off on Monday for our wedding anniversary.  We’re planning a trip to a RHSs garden e haven’t visited yet - might as well get vale from our membership 😁 Not sure where else we’ll end up.

That's terrible that they played the wrong music. As you say mistakes happen but that is one thing that should have been checked and double checked.

Sounds like the funeral was very well attended. She was obviously a much loved young girl.

I tried to transfer some money from one account to another which I’d just opened. My interest rate had plummeted as the account was over a year old so was time for a transfer. Anyway I was asked to call the fraud department …..what a palaver. It’s good that they’re on the ball but it took about 40 minutes. 😱😱😱😱 They must have thought I was an easy target for fraud. And the questions…….I’ve double and triple checked the cash is exactly where it should be. It is 😁 I wouldn’t mind but I’d tried to do this a couple of weeks ago in branch and was told to do it online as they don’t have the staff in branch anymore. Think I’ll stick with the building society where I get a paying in book in future - I just wanted some cash I can access easily that earns a bit of interest just in case of emergency. Talk about causing stress 🥴😳

You have reminded me that I need to go into the bank next time we are in town. We have a couple of unused savings accounts that I want to close down and I can't for the life of me find a way to do it online or in the app.

Need to get some coins anyway to top up the van parking pot. May as well do the two things at once.
