We’ve had 3 lovely nights away in Millie for our wedding anniversary…..46 years and counting 😁
We stayed about an hour and half away on the borders of the red rose and white rose counties. The first night was in the best pub stopover I’ve ever visited. We bussed it into town and had a lovely canal boat ride and fish and chips 😁 Saturday was making use of our RHS card and we visited a garden we’ve not visited before. We met ds there and he treated us to lunch at Bettys tearoom, before he headed home. We had a wander around the local town and had another night pub stopover. Sunday Dh had planned a tour to see some waterfalls. They were amazing. We stayed on a site for our 3rd night and had planned to visit another fall but the terrain wasn’t great so we passed on that and went on a nearby walk and into a cave which was amazing. We had a meal at the first overnight stopover pub. The meal was ok but didn’t live up to the expectations we’d built up. We had an amazing time and we got great value for our money.January spends - £587.585 -

Not a lot happened here yesterday as I was totally shattered after our break away. I had intended seeing my brother, but it wasn’t to be and he had to put up with a phone call instead. This morning I ventured to SW and yet again put 1 lb on…..time to give myself a kick up the backside as I’m in danger of putting everything I’ve lost this year back on. So the notebook has come back out whilst I record everything that passes by my lips. I have been for an aqua session this afternoon and am booked in again tomorrow.I had hoped to nip into town this afternoon but had a message from a friend that said protesters were expected. I’m not sure if this was true or false news but decided to come straight back home after aqua. Saved me some cash anyway as I didn’t need a lot - just fancied a potter.
There were a few spends as I topped up with fresh veg and milk at Morrisons but nothing too serious has left my purse for a week 😁
I need to pick some sweet peas - they have been flowering non stop since the beginning of June and kept myself, friends and neighbours vases filled. They’re on their last flourish though as the leaves are yellowing. I’d hoped they’d keep gong until Dd arrives in a couple of weeks but I’ll be surprised if they do.January spends - £587.582 -
Glad to hear you've been getting out and about and having fun. I think you are right about sometimes doing something with different people makes all the difference to how we view it - much as I love spending time with MrEH, there are some things where I just know being with people who are more like-minded on that particular experience will make it better!
That's sad about that little lass, and appalling that the wrong music was played! There are occasions when a bit of an error is forgivable - that's not one of them though!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Another aqua session this morning and then a chilled day crocheting another bag to take to the hospital WRVS shop next week. I started knitting a jumper when I came out of hospital in 2020 and wanted a long jumper to cover my tummy. As I was knitting it became apparent that it was going to be tight around the middle which is something I didn’t want. So the wool and partially knitted jumper has been festering in my knitting bag whilst I’ve considered all sorts of variations for the jumper. It was quite expensive wool and I’m not quite sure what possessed me when I bought it as it isn’t me at all. This project has been hanging over me and I’ve felt guilty starting new projects with this half finished one hanging around. So it has been undone and the wool is being put to a good use for bags to sell at the shop where I had my arm sorted. If they hadn’t sorted my arm I wouldn’t be able to knit or crochet. I will have 2 finished by next week and I’m half hoping to get a 3rd done but I have a busy week with various appointments so that might not happen - they’ve all fallen in the same week. I have a big crocheted blanket to take and a smaller granny square one so they’ll have a few hand made things to sell.I have been buying wool over the last month or so to make throws for both my gks….I usually free style but I’m following a pattern with unfamiliar stitches this time and looking forward to the challenge. I want to finish all my unfinished projects before I begin though. So I want to finish a cover for the window seat in my bedroom, and a crocheted cardigan….. and other than these bags I’m nearly at the end of my list. I promised myself I’d finish all my unfinished projects this year…watch this space 🤞

I went to singing this morning and a lady there is always planning outings. She has suggested a trip to see a show a couple of hours train ride away later in the year. I’m very tempted to go. I’ll do some sums as it could be an expensive day but she is good company and I quite fancy the show……pondering.com 🤔January spends - £587.581

You’re a bad influence Beanie 😂 I said YES. Looking forward to it. It’s not until December so plenty of time to save up.
The weekend came and went…..I went around to see a friend on Saturday and helped her sort some things out. On Sunday we went to see ds and Dh was going to help him put a small bike shed up….he opened the box and it was smashed along one side. So we took it back to C@stc@, we’ve been looking for a small shed that fitted into a particular place for ages but they had no more in stock and it was perfect. All very annoying. We headed to an air show at a seaside place an hour and a half away. We stayed well away from the centre but still had a cracking view of the planes. Then we ended up at our favourite cafe. It was heaving though. I’m really noticing a big difference in Dh as he is struggling walking and but won’t go to the doctor……what is it with men and doctors…..or is it just my mine. 🤔
I had to go for a scan today….nothing serious- just checking the difference of before and after a treatment I’ve been on. It wasn’t at the hospital but a centre that has opened using an empty shop in an out of town shopping complex. The facilities were fantastic and I was in and out within half an hour. I had a lovely mooch around the shops too.
Tomorrow is at the hospital for another try at an ankle brace. I’m debating going to see my brother after I finish but not relishing going out if it’s very hot….will see what time I finish at the hospital…if I don’t go tomorrow I won’t get chance for another week and he isn’t too good atm so I’d like to see him if I can.
