I went to SW this morning and lost 3 lb…..about time too 😂.Feels good to have my mojo back and it was no problem sticking to it this week…I think getting back to aqua has helped 😀 I’m nearly back to where I was…..I will do this this year. I had quite an eye opener earlier this week at an appointment where they weighed and measured me…..I’ve lost 2 inches in height since the last time I had the scan about 4 years ago 😱 it’s altered my BMI a lot 😱 I’m only just below the obese category according to these measurements. I know I’m slightly overweight but I certainly wouldn’t have thought by that much 🥴Another hospital appointment at another hospital tomorrow….4 th in a couple of weeks. They’ve all fallen at once. Dh is dropping me off as it’s quite a journey to this one. We will make a day of it and go out afterwards. I’ve crocheted some bags and a blanket to take to the WRVS shop there.
Dd and gks are arriving on Saturday so I’ll get Dh help me put the camp beds up for them. I wish I had a house big enough for permanent beds as the putting up and taking down beds is my pet hate - something I really struggle with. It’s worth it to see them though.
Money wise - everything is ticking along nicely- no surprises either way. All good though as ticking along is good 👍January spends - £587.583 -

Oh no, not shrinkage 😮 My poor old mum keeps saying she thinks she’s shrinking….she’s actually not far off a borrower at this stage 🤭 I never even considered the hit to the BMI 😖

I do smile about the shrinkage 😂😂😂😂 whilst walking with my youngest gdd when she was about 5 after everyone else had rushed home to loos, to get the dinner on etc…..myself and little one were slowly plodding up the hill back home to dds. ‘Grandma….why are you walking slow?…..are you an old lady?’ 😂😂😂😂😂 Keeping a very straight face I said I was getting old but not very old yet. ‘I know all about old ladies’ says she…..It had to be done….so I asked her to tell me. ‘Welllll……first you’re a baby, then a little girl, then you’re a teenager and after that you’re a mummy. Then you’re an old lady…THEN you SKRINK’ 😂😂😂I did expect her to say die……😂😂😂 For a long time I could see her checking me out to see if I’d shrunk 😂😂😂😂 Don’t you just love em 😂😂😂😂 I think she’s forgotten about it now😂😂😂
Another day a different hospital. I took some crocheted things to the League of Friends shop. You’d have thought I’d have taken gold bars the fuss they made…..some crocheted shoulder bags and a blanket. I was pleased with them though. I had several x rays and had a very long and thorough check and chat with consultant and somebody from the research dept. There are a few niggles but most definitely better than before the op. Can’t believe it’s over 5 years since I had it done. Today is the first time I’ve actually seen the x ray….i did get a bit of a shock when I saw it….the replacement is much bigger than I expected it to be. It’ll be a phone consultation next time which saves a long trek.
I went with Dh this morning whilst he went to a U3A session and I had a potter around the High Street nearby then we went straight to the hospital. The High Street is near where I went to school but I don’t often venture to those parts. I had a lovely mooch around - although it’s mostly charity shops. I saw a little dish and it’s the same pattern as a cake stand I have, which belonged to Dh gran. It’s not my choice of pattern tbh but I couldn’t resist buying it for £3. I’ve never seen anything else with the same design so once home I did a bit of research. I think I got a bargain….i couldn’t see anything exactly the same but everything else was going from £20. I couldn’t find a cake stand in the same pattern either. That won’t be worth much as it’s faded in parts as it gets used reg - not that I’d ever part with it as it’s quite sentimental. Apparently it dates from the early 50s.
I treated us to our favourite Greek restaurant’s afternoon deal - we just squeaked in before it finished - 2 courses for £15. I haven’t been there for a long time and it didn’t disappoint.January spends - £587.585 -

Not sure where the time has gone. Had Dd and gks here for a few days…..chaos reigned…..and it was great. We visited 2 NT places, The RHS gardens nearby, the new small park with a great electronic game that the gks love. We cooked together - well Dd and ds did most of the actual cooking whilst i baked and iced buns with gks. We made pizza at ds house using his new pizza oven. I spent a LOT of time sitting on benches whilst the kids ran around. We went to the big city today and visited the art gallery and yet another park before heading to the train station so they had plenty of time to get on and get settled as it’s all a bit rushed if they get on at our local station. Ds treated me to lunch out and we visited my brother before I came home and flopped in the chair…..I haven’t moved since 😂😂😂😂😂 Tomorrow operation getting the house back into some sort of order commences. Some money has been spent but not as much as I generally spend when they visit as we did a lot of things with membership we already have and we took picnics most of the times 😁January spends - £587.584
