I was at RHS on Friday but in the morning, what a palaver with the bus. Glad you got home ok and weren't on your own. Yesterday sounds like a good trip out .Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.0

A couple of lazy days with a bit of tidying thrown into the mix over the last couple of days. I need to work on the balance between having fun and over doing things. I’m learning but not quite there yet 🤪 I have had some lovely days out but I’ve learned I need to spread them out more 👍 pity we missed each other sunshine girl.
I’m at the hospital later for a steroid injection. I’m so pleased it’s happening before the weather goes cold as the cold definitely makes a big difference. This afternoon I’ll get on crocheting cacti for the gks. I’ve nearly finished the first one. I do need a couple of nice plant pots for them to sit in. That’s why i went to RHS on Friday but I’m not sure why but I didn’t actually buy them……maybe I thought I’d get cheaper elsewhere……..
I nipped around to Morrisons last night. I wasn’t impressed. The things I wanted were out of stock and it seemed very expensive so I didn’t buy some items and I’ll go elsewhere for them. I did get a loaf from the bakery for 20p so I was pleased with that. At the till I received a voucher for a free packet of fancy cookies as it’s my birthday month so it wasn’t a wasted trip after all. I’ll collect them next time I’m in 😁. £10 spent on the fresh items they did have in stock.

Not sure what’s going on as the last couple of long posts I’ve written have been lost 🤬I don’t think they’re on anybody else’s diary by mistake as I’ve just had a read through. Floating somewhere in cyberspace me thinks.January spends - £587.583

This morning I very nearly didn’t go to SW. I had an awful nights sleep. My hip was sore and I couldn’t turn over…it’ll settle in a day or so…plus I’d run out of decaf tea……WHO leaves 2 teabags in the big box when they fill the canister- My Dh 🤪🫣😂 so I thought I’d had more in and had to fall back on good old PG yesterday. So not sure if the caffeine got me. I do have some ‘proper’ tea but it’s the first time I’ve drank it all day for while……and the kettle was on lots - I was still awake at 3.30 and then wide awake again at 5.30.Anyway I’d left it 12 hours without driving after the injection and it’s only a short drive away they didn’t say not to drive….just you couldn’t drive home. I’d have to pay whether I went or not so I faced the music….and didn’t want to waste my cash. I’d had a great start to the week but it went badly downhill from Monday as I scoffed biscuits, crisps and anything else that jumped into my mouth in anticipation of the hospital appointment. I swear I’m getting more anxious of them the more I have. I still lost 1 lb but it could have been much more. I also ate out 5 times last week, but I made good choices😳😁 and I did enjoy myself 😁
I called to the supermarket on my way home and stocked up on fruit, veg and decaf teabags. I also got a couple of chickens and bacon on the 3 for £10 deal. Chickens have been roasted and portioned into legs, breast and wings. I’ll leave some in the fridge for sandwiches etc but freeze the rest individually. So handy to pull out for a number of dishes. The bones and some lentils and veg have been made into a big pan of soup which is rather delicious and whilst the oven was on I made a massive pan of bolognaise. I baked a bag of reduced sweet potatoes 30p 😁also stashed in the fridge. Then I checked the freezer and Dh had made a batch of curry I’d forgotten about so I hope I can fit it all in when it cools. I’d been told to take it easy for 48 hours so I sat when I could and am chilling now 👍
In the post I lost yesterday I’d rambled on about the hospital. They very nearly didn’t go ahead as the lovely nurse got a bee in his bonnet about my very high blood pressure. The doc came in and greeted me with…’oh it’s high again is it…it’ll be over soon and drop back’ ‘White coat syndrome and I’m not even wearing a white coat’ he was in his scrubs 😂😂😂😂 he has great banter. I usually sit in the waiting room for 5 minutes and get a taxi home. This nurse was having non of it and he made me go to the recovery room and took my BP half a dozen times, all the time chatting about nice things 😂 before he considered it high but acceptable. I’m expecting the gp to contact me for readings as I haven’t done any for a while as I’m sure they’ll be contact between them.
This has given me the kick up the backside to get this last stone gone, reduce my salt intake and get the porridge out again. I’ve also bought some cholesterol reducing drinks…..not sure what difference they make. The taxi home was an experience 😂😂😂 it came within minutes and the driver was chatting but with my hearing and his accent we didn’t get far but he was very friendly 😂😂 As we turned off the main road onto the small streets near me his phone went and it was his hospital so he stopped the car…..ushered me out and gestured £5. It’s usually around £8 so I got a bargain. I would have prefer to have been dropped at my door but it was only a minute away.
Ive just had a quote from a builder for the cupboard around the boiler - it was much more than I expected - enough to spike my BP 😂😂😂 I’m going ahead as I’m fed up of looking at the hole in the ceiling and the pipes. He seems to know what he’s doing and I’ve seen the work he’s done on his son’s house next door so fingers crossed. He’s coming one day next week 😁 Just hope he lets me know which day soon as I want to visit the RHS garden on Tuesday as there is some sort of tea ceremony in the Chinese garden. But if that’s the only day he can do I’ll forego it. We couldn’t get a grey cupboard to match the original but a very similar style in an off white. Dh isn’t impressed with the colour but I hope it’ll be ok and I think it’s better than a totally different grey 🤞 Typical that they discontinued the original colour.January spends - £587.586
