Love my bus pass 😁 it’s already paid for itself. Around here we pay a yearly £10 for use of trams and trains within our bigger city. I made 2 bus journeys on Monday…saved me £4 then my tram ticket to my brothers is just under £4 ……making it just under £8 savings and 2 bus journeys into local town again yesterday to go to the bank so another £4. So well worth the £10 yearly. If it were just buses I used I wouldn’t need to pay anything at all 😁 I’ve waited 6 years extra than I’d expected when the age changed from 60 to 66…..now I keep getting bogus or otherwise news reports saying bus passes aren’t affordable and there’s no guarantee they’ll be continued - it’d be just my luck for that to happen 😳
I went to the hospital and orthotic lady couldn’t see what the doc was on about as I already have the brace he recommended 🤷🏻♀️ (doc is a waste of space imo 😏) anyway she is lovely and is ordering a different brace which she doesn’t expect to make much difference BUT she has to follow consultations instructions then in addition she is thinking outside the box and is going to do something to my shoe to try and stabilise my ankle that way. I want a new pair of ankle boots to take when I get the next appointment. I’ll go to the outlook village one day next week on the tram 😁
The workman came yesterday and I no longer have a hole in the ceiling. I also have a new cupboard around the boiler which is the same as the original kitchen units but off white rather than the grey which is discontinued. It looks ok and eventually we’ll even get around to painting the repaired patch on the ceiling. It’ll open a big chasm of decorating though as it’s a L shaped room. If we paint the kitchen the living area will need doing too. It’s 7 years since the living area was done and I’m ready for a change BUT the thought of having to move big fish tank to decorate isn’t doing it for me 🫣
I started with a sore throat yesterday and it’s coming out as a chesty cold today.
£25 spent on haircut this morning.
Whilst the workman was in I set to and emptied every wardrobe and drawer onto my bed and had a mega sort out. The tops and dresses I have that haven’t been worn but aren’t fit to be seen in public as they’re too snug 😱😱😱😱😱 anyway 1 lb lost again this week so I’m back to where I was at the beginning of summer ☺️ I didn’t quite finish so am off to do that now.January spends - £587.586 -
I love my bus pass too! It's saved me so much over the months when I go into town as it's a £6-7 taxi fare both there and back!😳
Glad to hear you have a lovely orthotic doctor who seems to know what she's doing.I bet you're pleased the building work has gone well and is finished. I really would like the living room, hall and bedroom decorated and re floored, but like you I'm put off because of all the furniture that will have to be moved around in small spaces!
Well done on the weight loss this week!😀👍Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

Well I’m guessing the l pound I lost yesterday has jumped right back on today. My throat is soar and I’m full of a cold. I haven’t stopped eating all day…..including anything scratchy that I can feel going down. Crisps and toast (not especially together) have gone down very nicely. I’ve had some really rubbish nights sleep over the last week or so, but I did sleep better last night. I could have nodded off all day but made myself stay awake. Early night tonight 👍We are suppose to be going to a seaside place not far away which has a kite festival over weekend and staying overnight tomorrow. But if I feel this grotty tomorrow I don’t think I’ll be bothering.
Much discussion has happened here this afternoon. The upshot is we’re going to have a big conflab next week when we’ve got time and had time to sleep on some things. 👍

Good luck Floss.
We did go to the kite festival and it was fabulous. We stayed on a designated Motorhome car park…..£15 for 2 nights. It was lovely and quiet although slightly further away than we’d remembered. We’ve walked between the carpark and pier many times before but twas much more of an effort this time 🫣 Dh struggled more than he would admit. Ds came for the day on Saturday and we could have stayed another night but decided to come home Saturday evening as the weather was forecast rubbish on Sunday. We all went for something to eat together on the way home courtesy of ds. The town where the festival was was heaving so we decided to give there a miss. I was glad we did come home as Dh started with the sore throat yesterday so a very lazy day was the order of the day.
Today I intend finishing upstairs. I started really well by decluttering the wardrobe last week then the lurgy hit and I shoved everything into the spare bedroom and shut the door. Today the door will be open and I’ll attempt to sort it all. I need a charity bag pushing through the door so I can get rid of some things.
i know somewhere on here there is a statement of affairs form….can anyone point me in the right direction as I couldn’t find it. I want to really look at our finances and hopefully put Dh mind at rest as he’s currently in panic mode for some reason known only to himself. I think all the doom and gloom in the news headlines has spooked him 🤷🏻♀️ for some reason.January spends - £587.585 -
I’ve just made use of my rail pass and booked a ticket to see Dd. I’ve got an open return and I know I could have probably got it cheaper by booking a timed return but I find it much less stressful to take my time between stations in London.ive always managed to get on a train 👍 It’s not a cheap trip but worth it to get to see my Dd near our birthdays. I rarely get to see her on her own without the gks and rest of the family (which is lovely) but I do try and see her so we can have lunch together between our birthdays. I’m looking forward to it 👍
I have taken lots of material to the local secondary school and they seemed very grateful. They said the art department will appreciate it. I’d been given a roll of pink satin type material when the gks were younger, never done anything with it except I’ve moved it from room to room….well it has not gone to a new home 😁😁😁😁 along with various other bits. I’ve finished my room and emptied most of the small spare room into the 2 nd spare room and I’ll sort it as I put things back 👍January spends - £587.584
