Thank you both. I think the part i am proudest of is that I am managing without calling the ex to ask something. It sounds daft when i say it out loud (well write it down) but he "managed everything" so I really have very little idea of how things work or where to go or what to do.
Yet I have found a builder to do the work and am slowly getting on with things, nervously but managing.

That is a huge step and you should be proud of it so well done. However with the issues you describe he obviously did not do a very good job of managing things so why would you even want to ask him he clearly did not care hopefully just towards the end or maybe longer. Stay strong it is hard to make decisions on yourself but you are doing a great job.Save £12k in 25 No 49

You're doing really well
The builder finally turned up, so I'm hopeful that the catflap will be done next week and the extra door be blocked up between the plumbers finishing and the decorator starting. It's going to be a very stressful summer getting all this done, but hopefully will be worth it.4 -
The boiler repair person turned up and had the spare part needed. I have heat.

I'm hoping that feral kitten is snoring in the heat somewhere. My Mrs BradyOld Lady would move out if the heating died.
