There is a reason everything that goes in my oven is covered. The hob however after 30 years has the odd bit that does not know what the word clean means & that is after steam cleaning. I am not sure I can risk steam cleaning again as it seem some gas jets do not like it & even back then took some time to recover. When I get round to getting my new kitchen!!!!!!!!!! Which sometimes despite having the money sitting there feels like saying when I win the lottery.

The great thing about microwaves is that "stuff" does not get burnt on.

Things do "explode" in the microwave though and then get left to be more and more charred by the microwave (I rarely use it but the ex did) It is one of those combination oven things that is also a grill and an oven that does all sorts of fancy things (top heat, bottom heat, all over heat and so on) that seem unnecessarily complicated to me.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Felt too cold to get up this morning so laid in for a good hour with feral kitten at my feet Was cheered by the thought the boiler engineer would be coming out today, only to get a phone call at 8.15 to say the engineer was not coming as he had reviewed the job and it was not a boiler problem in his opinion so not covered. Rang around and cannot find anyone with an LPG certification but have found someone who is coming to look today as he thinks the boiler people are really good at diagnosing and if they are right he can change the valve anyway. Fingers crossed.
Currently in office in two fleeces and muck boots! (Those muck boots are soooo good - thank you all for encouraging me to buy them).Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

High praise for the plumbing company who came and fixed the initial problem. £234 spent changing a valve and the boiler fired up. Yay. Joy was short lived as the condensing trap leaked and on investigation it was not fitted properly possibly from when last serviced. His advice was to switch the boiler off as this could cause a carbon dioxide leak which means I've now gone from no heating but hot water to no heating and no hot water. I'm not sure this is progress!
(He did say that I could put it on if I was desperate but his advice is not to, and, there was a fair old drip on to the wiring so I can see it isn't just the potential for a CO2 leak that is a concern).
Plumber could not fix that bit because - it is an LPG boiler - and said I needed to go back to the boiler company (who I have a repair contract with). Whilst we were sorting out payment I rang the boiler company in case they had questions but they just took a message and "scheduling" will get back to me. Frustrating.
