I had never considered this giving to myself as well. Thank you.

Another use for coconut oil is a body scrub made by melting and mixing in some salt. I add a couple of drops of nice smelling oils (currently using chamomile and lavender) and it works well for getting the equine grime off my hands!
They need a bit of a scrub at the moment. Took Charming Cob out this morning as it was, for once, not raining and there were blue skies. Made such a difference to my mood, we looked out for snow drops and daffodils and then met a neighbour out on her horse so we did part of the walk with her too.
Doctors surgery has rung asking me to pick up a prescription so off to get that in a moment. I'm a bit surprised but having interviewed google and read a few papers the infection they have picked up on in tests might just be the cause of my symptoms (am hopeful). (Good call on making me do the research @Suffolk_lass). I still have to go for the scan tomorrow and then wait for an appointment with the specialist but I have added some papers to my list to discuss.

All the best for the scan. You are well 'armed' with your reading and notes and they are obviously being proactive too. And I had a thought - if you have a latent infection, it's possible that's contributed to how you've been feeling. Your body has been fighting something you didn't know about as well as the things you've identified.
That body scrub is a good idea! I'm tempted to make a batch, though I'm not sure what oils I have - probably eucalyptus, so at least I'll breathe easily. 😂

When my sister made some, she chopped up some lavender and rosemary and added it to the scrub. Make sure it is chopped small though, or it catches in the plug-hole!

What a nice idea to add lavender and rosemary (will remember that one). Currently have far too many "products" to need to make anything.
I too wondered if the infection had made me feel so bad, possible. The anti-depressant is working however and I do feel better. Think the counselling is helping. VNM went to pick up the meds yesterday and came home saying the surgery had not had them in, but, there was something for me that had been put aside and to my horror it was stronger (and addictive) sleeping pills. I have expressly said I do not want these. The mental health practitioner is now really annoying me!

That's not good - I wonder if it would be worth reiterating you request in writing to the practice manager?

I think that might be a good idea @Cherryfudge I have an appointment with the mental health practitioner in the next week and I will take a letter in then. Will also say that I do not need to keep popping in for a 'chat' about how I am bearing in mind she is not a counsellor and her role seems to be to tick a box saying she has checked I have not self harmed.
Will probably be less irritated then. The waste of resources is also frustrating in a health service that is struggling.
