Watty's Awakening

Your trips out sound such fun, and WattyDog doubles it. What a joy he is, even to those of us who've never met him!
I hope you got your dark chocolate. I've just started to make macaroons and discovered I only have half the required amount of desiccated coconut, which is odd as I've had a surfeit for years. I will go back to searching the cupboards after tea.
Be aware the coconut oil is really high in saturated fat. I admit I have it though - fabulous for hair and as a bath oil!

Is Wattydog a natural comedian?

Good point about the saturated fat. Tbh the healthy take on millionaires shortbread was/is not that nice. I don't actually like the "original" but this version had a base of oats and ground almonds, peanut butter and dark chocolate. VNM will eat it I am sure but I thought it was a waste of effort and the ingredients (which other than chocolate I had in the cupboard).
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

no, he is just a genuinely nice chap full of joy. As a puppy I took him to cafes and pubs for just short trips to teach him how to behave in them and as an elderly chap he still behaves beautifully in those places. He is a very big dog even for his breed and so is noticeable in these places as he has to sit or lie next to us. Small dogs can hide under tables on by feet! He is good looking even if I say so myself and the looks, the good behaviour and the nice nature mean people tend to smile and chat.
It wasn't until his health issues started I realised the PPH dramas had also left their mark on him and he worries when he is left alone and doesn't even really like going out in the garden unless he has one of us with him or he is going to check on the neighbouring children on the elderly lady. He might get anxious but he is still full of joy and will fetch a ball or a stick to play with everyone. It was not until the last day I realised PPH, who had taken the dog so much during those years intended not to bother with him and just drove off leaving WattyDog behind and both of us wondering what on earth ????? I was not sure how to cope with a working dog always on the go but we have learned to live together which was hard for both of us but it has worked out beautifully even if it was a muddle at the start and a really hard time for us. I might never have intended to have him, but, he is a joy, a clumsy great big dog always willing do play with his sticks and balls (and hates the "bright green safe play stick" I bought him so much so that it has now lost it completely).
