Cross Stitch and Craft Café 2024 - pull up a chair and join us!
Hello, I'd like to join in this year if that's OK?
I have just spent an entire day sorting cross stitch patterns (4-ring binders reduced to £3 in Rymans on Saturday so they are now all stored nicely by type). I have put some cross stitch kits in the charity shop pile but am now dithering about whether I can let some of them go - I know I am SABLE even without them...
Anyway, my initial list for this year is: Steam engine for friend's birthday in March Cut-through campervan for friend's birthday/retirement in April Birth sampler for niece 2 (just needs the back stitch wording added) Nameplate for great-niece 1's bedroom door Attempt to reduce WIPs to single figures...
I would also like to complete the task of putting all of my threads on bobbins.
Nannyg my mum got me a magazine subscription last year for my birthday which I have really enjoyed. I bought a few of the kits in it and have completed one and started one, I did a couple of the free little ones, but I don't like the Aida they supply for those so didn't carry on with them.
First finish of 2024 -should have been finished as a card for Christmas 2023 but I decided not to rush it. One of a set of joyful festive wreaths by Lesley Teare produced as a kit by sewandso.
Drawingaline - if you really want to complete a special one , I would buy some linen or even weave from hobby craft or the net and use that. I have odd ones from years ago and I either don't like them, or not appropriate for what I want 🙂
Welcome to everyone joining in this year. How exciting to have a first finish. Well done Betasam that’s going to be a lovely card if you can part with it. Happy stitching all.

Hi everyone I have finished my first diamond painting of the year - will post pictures once it has flattened out! And started on my first cross stitch project. I feel a bit like I am cheating as there is no backstitching to do, and it is a stamped kit! But it is nice to get back into the swing of things with an easier project, before I tackle all the french knots on my Great Wave bookmark!
Happy new year all.

£1600+ made on vinted since 2023 ⚜ we could get better, because we're not dead yet - frank turner. ❧ ------------------------------------------------------------------------
I ordered the full great wave kit half price in the Hobbycraft black Friday sale and my Mum paid for it as part of my Christmas present. Perhaps I should add that to my 2024 list...
I received the latest copy of Cross Stitcher yesterday so that has been read, dissected and the patterns I want to keep filed- it does mean another cover kit to stitch but I think it will get used as Mum has a friend who likes foxes and her birthday isn't until November!

I completed the Great Wave in 2022, finished it Xmas day of 2022. I cheated and used beads rather than french knots. I love it, and last year did the Cherry Blossom one that's in the same set. I have the final one with the Peacock's kitted up ready to go. Possibly this year.....
