Hi,I hope you are all keeping warm. We have been out, over the hills into Cheshire. Wednesday afternoon our lovely cleaner comes.Manchester and the Cheshire plain looked very picturesque in the snow/frost. Jodrell bank telescope looked statuesque. You could see the North Wales mountains. It has been gloriously sunny here today, not a cloud in the sky. It was -3 last night so I expect it will be colder tonight. Typical winter weather for my daughter in the Isles of Shetland. They were at a fire festival at the weekend. That's the way to spend a winter night. It will soon be up helly aa in Lerwick. Mrs SD have a look on you tube. Every year I intend to go and I just never get round to it.
I never stick to a recipe,I think that is why I am not very good at cakes, measurements need to be more precise than I am capable of.haha
A bag dropped off at the charity shop but not my stuff. The craft club are culling supplies as the community centre will be demolished in the next few weeks.
The final banana box has come in from the shed from where we packed up the downstairs before the building work. Maybe 15 books onto the bookcase in our bedroom and a massive family bible stored in a drawer in the sitting room. Everything had to have a rejig to accommodate it. A few ornaments put out. I was expecting a smallish wall picture to be in the box.nope. I hope it turns up,I really like it.
Some ins today. a vegetable knife,HOW MUCH? I will oust the ancient rubbish veg knives we have, though I may keep a couple in my tool box, they are handy for getting into corners when I am renovating furniture. Just maybe doing just that is why they are rubbish now! Also 6 face cloths. I use one a day,the old ones will be relegated to cleaning cloths. Oh a ball of wool too. That will soon be knitted into a little jumper or something and be out again.
We are gadding off to North Lincolnshire tomorrow on a jolly, Any recommendations ,Granny Kate? Stepson coming Friday after he has had a kip from working nights ( paramedic). He is going to put the curtain rail back up and the new to me blind in the kitchen. Then I can finally say the house renovation is finished. I am open to any visitors, you are all welcome.
Bit by bit visiting Monday. yay,

So many updates today I havnt had time to read them all. I dont know how you do it Mrs SD so I am awarding you a 🏅 for the stirling work you do keeping us all going.
Finally I can announce that the artificial tree has gone. 🎄I picked a day when DH was suffering with an achey arm and was quite tired to suggest we put it back in roof if he wanted it to languish up there even though we had decided we would never use it again. He just said "oh lets get rid of it then" . It was as easy as that. 🎉🎉🎉. Also cleared out bathroom cupboard, a lot of garden rubbish and a bit more stuff from craft shed including an electric heater that got soaked when the shed leaked. It was quite pleasant working in the garden all morning. I must remind myself of that next time I think its too cold even to venture out to put the washing out. Once I got going 2 hours went really quickly. So today a grand total of 8 bin bags and a heater to tip. Also took some jam jars to a friend this week ready for her jam making next Autumn. Counting as 9 bags full.craft stash 2023 =161, 2024 = 119 2025 = £17.98 spent, 102 made and 5 mended,

I actually managed to take my charity shop offerings to one today & have popped the bin-bag of tiny fabric scraps in the boot of my car, ready to go to the tip along with most of the contents of the under-sink cupboard. I'd been hoarding clear plastic bags under there, ready to pop over pots of seeds in the spring - keeps the moisture in & the cold out, whilst they get going - but sadly one of the cats' "toys" that they occasionally bring in had decided this would make excellent nest material. It was evicted - the hard way, I'm afraid - yesterday and so my hoard of plastic bags has also been evicted today. Just as well; there were enough under there for our entire allotment site, when I'll actually use - maybe 4 or 5? And can usually re-use those after cleaning! Just asking for trouble, really. Anyway - all cleaned up now.Angie - GC Jun 25: £309.06/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)21

More random decluttering - a silver gonk and a vase of fake flowers for the charity shop and a pot of assorted teabags to be taken to work18

Moorviews In my previous house when my late husbands wellies finally gave up and started to leak (he used them when fishing ) I put them at the bottom of my garden filled with compost and stuck some bulbs in them the winter and once when they died back, some trailing flowers seeds which looked really pretty in the summer

Well done everyone! You are all doing amazingly well
Well My 17 days of the 10/10/10 x 5 times a day has paid off with a completely decluttered office! 1 bag in the boot of the car ready for the charity shop. 1 large bin bag under the desk with 65 items in that I've listed on eBay using the 80% off FVF to fund my make £2024 in 2024 challenge with 1 item already sold!
Tomorrow I plan on giving my now clutter-free office a complete Spring clean and washing all the cabinates etc down. I've also found a nice large tin of emulsion in the shed, so I'm going to paint it over the weekend - I can't beleive I've finally cleared all the junk out of the office and just how much free space I have! It's Soooooooooooooo liberating. It's also been a great way to boost my mental health and spirits along with using my time more efficiently which brings me on to Friday!
On Friday I plan on doing a full yearly decluttering of my finances which I revisit every 2 weeks to make sure I'm on target and to see if I can find any others savings anywhere else! This is the task I really love because I check everything from outgoings right through to my savings. If I can get a better deal elsewhere, then I do what I need to.....~ NSD 2025 - NSD July 4/20 (6 x💯)# Spectos/Royal Mail Monitoring and Posting Panel - Ongoing~ Totally FREE Christmas 2025 - 🎁✉️🏷🎀💐🪪🗒🧺⭐️Completed Challenges 2025:# No.36 Make £2025 in 2025 £1234.34 / £2025 (58%) (3) 💯💯+# No.12 Save £2 a Day 2025 2025: £730/ £730 💯# No.27 Save 1p A Day 2025 £667.95 / £667.95 💯# No.19 52 Week Env Challenge £1378 / £1378 💯# No.34 Save £12k in 2025 £12,114.14 / £12,000 💯 - Continuing20 -
@vulpix - are you going anywhere in particular in N Lincs. I would recommend the Humber Bank - viewing points and car parks near Barton on Humber with some super cafes - Old Tile Works etc Have a look on https://www.visitnorthlincolnshire.com/
Depends what your interests are but Epworth (Home of the Wesley family), Normanby Hall, Barton Churches, Alkborough Flats, Visual Arts Centre. It is not a big county but you are restricted by waterways and canals - but you can do a nice circular drive through Brigg up to Barton on Humber (Don't take the A15 use the minor road through the villages - leave Brigg on the Wrawby Road and turn off towards Elsham, Worlaby,Bonby etc.) After visiting Barton and the Humber you can go left along the river towards Winteringham, Whitton, Alkborough etc - this takes you round the North of Scunthorpe. Have a nice day.2025 Decluttering Campaign 607/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟
