I did see a Cath Kidston bag in a charity shop the other day and I was planning on buying it today, but then thought I don't need it. I went through my bags last night and found one I haven't even worn yet. It is a red Debenhams one so I wore it when I went out today. It is a beautiful sunny day, although chilly.
I'm now watching a Youtuber (Madeleine Olivia) who is doing a January reset of her house.2025 GOALS

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks + a weekly Jettison Junk in January
2. Sort out sleep patterns - target bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 9:00 a.m
3. Deal with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
I woke up at 10:00 & the sunshine persuaded me to get up although I am not dressed for outdoors - tracksuit bottoms & fluffy dressing gown. It is bright & sunny but cold -2C 🥶 The recycling hasn’t been collected yet so added 3 magazines - hopefully DSis won’t notice 😉
93 - 95 Three magazines recycled
Forgot to mention that last night I sorted through my footstool storage & binned several bits of toot & put a couple of items in their rightful places 🙂
Excellent work Dizzycap 👏 Your 17 days of concerted effort of 10 / 10/ 10 has certainly paid off 🥳 An office free of clutter & ready to be spring cleaned & decorated 👏 A medal 🏅 is on its way. Martin Lewis would be very proud of you - checking your finances every fortnight 🥹
Having started so well, I found myself waking up at 13:25 having fallen asleep about 11:00 💤 I blame the heated cushion that I was leaning against 🤣 Woke up the find DH in the kitchen making coffee & toasting waffles & telling me off for not waking him 😉 Shopping list is now written & I have another hot drink & DH has set off. Fingers crossed that I can stay awake 🤞especially as it is now a balmy +2C 🙊
GrannyKate, I will show your post to DH & see how many place names he recognises or has driven through 😉
Siebrie, good job I don’t have children as I wouldn’t be able to share my beloved shredding although I would consider letting them clean the oven 🤣
Brambling, sounds like you & my DH would get on like a house on fire 😉 He cooks exactly the same way 🙂 How inconsiderate of your spider to move from the bathroom to your bedroom without asking for permission 😏 Great decluttering whilst dinner was cooking 👏
vulpix, hope you have a great time at the Up Helly Aa in Lerwick 😊 I did have a little google + I remember an episode of Shetland 🙂 I think I would have enjoyed it when I was younger 🙂 but now I would probably be sipping a drink & keeping an eye out for bathroom facilities - oh the joys of getting older 🤣
Liverpool_Anne, not sure why but the start of your post had me imagining you tossing tea & coffee about like the Indian festival of ‘Holi’ 🤭 On a slightly more serious note that is another mini task I need to add to my growing To Do list 😅 Excellent decluttering & how lovely to have all that space in the cupboard 👏
Stunning view vulpix 😍 although my next thought was I hope the inside of the car is warm 😉
Excellent decluttering Mamaofmanybudgets 👏 One Gold Star ⭐️ on its way 🙂 + love the “little patches of hope all around the house” 😊
Excellent decluttering wishus 👏
Excellent decluttering Rootle 👏 I need to use a step ladder nowadays to reach the top shelf of my fridge OR the other option is to call my DH (although I don’t like to disturb him just in case he is decluttering his office 😏)
Wednesday2000, well done on resisting temptation 👏 & then being able to satisfy your desire for something ‘new to you ‘ by shopping from home 😊
Off to change out of my dressing gown & tackle the section of the wall unit containing glasses, jars & bottles of alcohol 😉
I hope everyone is managing to stay warm 🤞

Been to preschool group with ds this morning. It was absolutely freezing inside. Even a hot cup of tea couldn't warm me up!
I have had a thumping headache since I woke this morning (just after 5) so I think it is a combination of a cold and not enough sleep. No decluttering done today, but I have my eye on a load of stuff to go ASAP. Just a case of finding the energy at the moment.
I need to revise the budget tonight and come up with a plan for food shopping this month. We are having to tighten our budget as car insurance is super expensive (due later this year but trying to prepare) and we have a number of school trips and activities to pay for.... I love that the schoolkids get to experience a wide variety of things but it is costing a fortune. Just this past week we have had to send in £5 for a cookery lesson (0 chance of 2nd dd eating what was on the menu) and had details about a school trip costing £12.50. I am waiting to hear what the eldest dd year group are doing.... we have also had to pay out for new pe uniform for both dds as the school changed their badge slightly from Xmas..... 🙄 they couldn't change it before the school year started in September because this would be too helpful... 🤣

oh dear I had a go at the rock cakes and they are not good. I kinda knew it was wrong when I had mixed the flour and the fat. I used Trex. Which I used for the first time for mince pies and they werent great this year either!!! I should have learnt my lesson and not used it, but I didnt want to throw it away. I think the mixture was over mixed!!!! They have come out a bit too smoothe and the taste is not great! I will try again, maybe mix butter and marg which is my usual go to!Other than that not much has been acheived today ... yet ... theres always hope!♥️ ♥️ ♥️🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸Decluttering 2025 So far 403 / 2025

Some more digital decluttering from me, down from 878 emails in my inbox to 688. 😮 About 150 were deleted, and the remainder moved to various folders. Once my inbox is under control, I'm starting on the folders ...Enjoying the power and freedom of letting things go.

Pity the rock cakes didn't work i don't make them very often but do use butter or a hard marg and rub the flour, sugar and butter to bake breadcrumbs (like pasty) then add dry fruit and then the wet ingredients so it's not a smooth mix a bit like mixing scones so i tend to work quickly as well. As i don't have cold hands and don't want to wash up the food processor i do have a 'pastry cutter' similar to this but was cheaper

that seems ridiculous to change a badge halfway through a year and expect parents to change immediately. Siebres idea is far more sensible

Evening chums, golly its been a bit baltic today, and of course its the day my electric throw has died on me, so its back to hot water bottles. One on my feet, and one on my lap, then the throw over the top.
I braved the cold as I realised I need to declutter £20.00 in cash from my bank account for the hairdressing lady who comes to trim my hair at my house every 6 weeks.
As I was going to pass the charity shop I made use of my walk to declutter another bag with 6 large books and several pictures and ornaments. I only live a few minutes walk from the precinct, but boy was I glad to get back home in the warm it was a bitterly cold day despite the bright sun.
I had forgotten to take my gloves with me ,won't do that again I had to defrost my hands when I got home.
Even with the heating on for most of the day I haven't strayed far from the sitting room, just had one of my HM ready meals tonight, taken out from the freezer this morning, and zapped in the microwave tonight. Another meal decluttered from the freezer. No standing around in the kitchen cooking ,nice and easy meal of chicken provencal and veg.
My decorator is coming next week to start on the small room that I have now virtually emptied. the other two bedrooms have a fair amount of stuff in there but I'm working my way through it daily.
I had a call from car dealer my new car has finally arrived, and I can pick it up a week tomorrow .its only taken 5 months since I ordered it in September last year to get here from Germany (for some reason via Spain )
It's a smaller one than the 7 seater I have but as the boys (my DGS) are all grown and flown I don't need a larger car now. Plus DGS Jack just texted to say his driving test is booked for 7th June so hopefully he will be mobile by summer.
Right time for some pudding I found a packet of banana angel delight in the cupboard thats still in date (just) so I shall have some of that for a nice quick pudding I think.
Keep warm chums ,roll on the spring

Little patches of hope - I love that! Can I pinch it for my garden please?
I was going to walk the dogs this evening but general consensus was cwtches in bed…..it’s warmer and we were out all afternoon at a family funeral. I was ok until one of the cousins sang Abide with Me and then lost it completely. I’ve never heard her sing before and it was absolutely beautiful ❤️⭐️⭐️⭐️🥇🥇🥇 2024 decluttering
